View Full Version : Alcoholic Energonic Drinkers Thread

Well in good ol' Aussie and Cybertronian tradition this cyber-pub is a hub for all talks and chants about the alcohols we enjoy, recommend, hate, disapprove and are curious about. This thread is also for energon drinkers but this video is evidence alone (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EBUXVZcb2M) we humans ain't so suitable for its consumption!

Personally I'm a fan of Sol and Coronas. Least favorite beers are any that are extra dry. Haven't explored much myself in the realm of spirits but do have the ingredients to make Blue Lagoons at me den. Any other concoctions others can recommend I can make with a bottle of double-distilled vodka?

And yes, this thread was inspired by discussions of alcohol by certain members here and you know who you are ;)

Ha! I love that episode!
I wonder which group caused this to be made? :P

EDIT:
As for a drink to be made with double distilled vodka, I'd recommend.

1. Opening the bottle
2. Pouring it down the sink
3. Going to your bottle-o and buying a good bottle of scotch
4. Having a glass on the rocks

;)

I got two bottles of whiskey sitting on my cabinet as well. Haven't been touched for like a year now (they have been opened before). Don't know if that's a good thing or not.

I was recently at a wedding where every table had a 2 bottles of Johnnie Walker Double Black on it. Good times:)

I am a rum drinker myself.

Beer wise there are too many to choose from. Corona is easily my favourite but there aren't many I dislike. What do you prefer in your coronas Skywarp lemon or lime?

There are no drinkers on this forum, what are you on about? :p

Vodka, a great thing to do with that is make your own special flavoured vodka with it. My brother made chilli vodka with a bottle and gave it to me. Deadly stuff. Instead of getting drunk off of it though, I ended up getting high lol. Or you can always do shooters at a party after you have already had a few. Easiest way to get rid of alcohol you don't want anymore. Worked with a bottle of ouzo my soon-to-be-father-in-law had.

Now, my drink of choice is Mead, mainly because its the drink of the vikings lol. But honestly though, I do love to go get some random foreign and local beers at Dan Murphys, try them out, and if I like them, buy more. Dark beers are some of my favourite. Tooheys Old and a foreign one called Hobgoblin are fantastic.

I'll have to post up a photo of all the beer bottles I got, I kinda collect the fancy ones. One I got is the shape of a buddha heh.

LOL thats why I started drinking rum. I was a fisherman when I turned 18 so since it is the drink of sea men (I wonder how many people will giggle at that:p) I just started drinking it.

I like trying all sorts of foreign beers, I have a photo of me with two german steins + 2 litres of beer(no idea what the brand was, but came in 2 cans) that I got for $15 from Safeway when they were on special. I'll upload it.

Tried Souther Comfort, an envy cocktail, bombay sapphire and some Alize blue cognac for the first time last night with many many coopers clears at a 21st.

Also ate a crapload of free food, but have been spending all of today crapping it out

SoCo ain't bad, tastes very sweet. Envy is very creamy. BS I had with lemonade - don't taste too bad and Alize has a very odd fruity flavor to it.

think i had 1 drink after baseball on sat while sitting in the spa

sometimes the best cure for a hard game of baseball is a hot bath. after an ice pack... I chose the ice pack this saturday.

My drink of choice is generally beer. I used to primarily favour the good old Toohys Old.
lately though I really like the James Squire sundown lager, but I do like their porter and several others.

I'm always open to a pint of Guiness or Kilkenny also.

Love a good glass of port, and happy to share a bottle of wine with a couple people.

Spirits I have a lot of in the cupboard but tend to buy more than I use... don't like rum or scotch. but don't mind drambui for some reason.

like to sip a good sipping tequila.

*Edit*
also very partial to a Dunkel at the Lowenbrau or Bavarian Bier cafe. One big glass is always a good start, though you tend to feel like a hobbit... "They come in pints?!"

Mate, don't talk to me about Cherry flavoured home brew!! :p last time my brother made that stuff it damn near took my eye out when I opened the bottle! Only part I've had to do with home brew is that, and designing the label for my bro's beers - I added the motto "The devil made me brew it" haha

I've just come up with a new drink.
Mrs Ultra Marginal is away on training for over a week and I've finally got a bit of spare time to trawel the boards and have a couple quiet ones.

recipe:
large glass
bottle of bundaberg ginger beer
generous helping of cointreau

I'm working on a name. though I've just been reading some of the first volume of More than meets the eye, and I'm attracted to the name

sparkeater or

I've had to switch to clear mixers: vodka and lemonade is the drink of choice (necessity?) for now.

I have to grown to like those little pre-mixed shooters you can get at bottle shops, despite my wife calling them girly drinks.

Sounds like you're not making your port related beverages filthy enough and you're getting caught out. It is very much the Decepticon in that regard, make your drink more feral and you'll be less likely to succumb to it's powers of evil.

I must confess I haven't dabbled in ye olde Southern Comfort a great deal. I seem to remember having some combination with it that was overly aniseedy (not that aniseed is bad, although star anise can be an overly potent mofo when cooking) which put me off a bit but maybe I should revisit....Anyone tried the new Jagermesiter mixers?
