So Powerdive was a helicopter originally, now it's... whatever the hell that plane is? strange, I'll wait untill I see it in person before I decide either way.
G2 Megs & Brawn look wrong. I may get them But I highly doubt it.
I'll pass on Cliffjumper & all of the legends, but Wheelie, Swerve & Hotspot are instant buys. The rest? Maybe.

Whaaaa? Whatever that plane is??? Its the plane from the game 1942, the p-38 Lightning!!! Or based on it anyway. WWII baby.
Megatron looks rubbish, but the rest are passable, I'd be all over Hotspot and Wheelie. Maybe swerev and Brawn, depending on the heads.
The legends? No thanks.

C'mon Springer. I dont like that toy mold but it looks like a better version of Springer than the Universe 2.0 one. Great colour choices.
Swerve's a strong maybe. Same with Dead End, Bluestreak (Bluestreak!!), Thundercracker and I'd like a better look at Laserbeak.
PS. That's First Edition Cliffjumper (with a new head). Get it!

I dont like the toy for Springer but im thinking with a simple head swap it might make a good classicverse Waspinator.
Why though is "Dead End" portrayed as black? hes meant to be a dark red would of been better as Wildrider IMO

From our checklist (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=13011) (bookmark it)...
Generations-styled "Reissues" (mid-late 2012)
Legions (each with a bonus weapon)
Bluestreak (Prowl redeco + gun)
Motormaster (Optimus redeco + sword)
Hoist (Trailcutter redeco + wrist cannon)
Thundercracker (Starscream redeco + arm gun)
Scout (Commander)
Sandstorm (Dune Runner redeco)
Dead End (Brakedown redeco)
Brawl (Breacher redeco)
Laserbeak (Skystalker redeco)
Deluxe
Springer (RotF Tomohawk redeco & new head)
Swerve (Gen Kup & new head)
Cliffjumper (Prime FE Cliffjumper redeco & new head)
Wheelie (Gen Jazz redeco & new head)
Voyager
Power Dive (RotF Highbrow redeco & new head)
Hotspot (Universe Inferno redeco & new head)
(Gen2) Megatron (RotF Bludgeon redeco & new head)
Brawn (Prime FE Bulkhead redeco & new head)
Leader
Starscream (RotF redeco)
Ironhide (DotM redeco)
Everything except the Leaders were shown in the first post.
Whaaaa? Whatever that plane is??? Its the plane from the game 1942, the p-38 Lightning!!! Or based on it anyway. WWII baby.
But it should have been called Ransack... as that was the WW2 plane from Gen2. Powerdive was the helicopter. They missed the mark on that homage. :(
Will we see these in oz, maybe toysale time, or will it be another order from RK?
They are "supposed to be" Asian Hasbro exclusives, meaning HK and any country they supply. Hasbro HK have been getting more independent of Hasbro America in terms of generating "exclusives"... not since Hasbro UK at the end of Gen1 did we see a branch of Hasbro creating so many figures just for their market.
Fingers crossed that they are released here (like the four Generations Deluxe toys), but nothing has been mentioned anywhere, and I think retailers are still hurting from TF3 toys, so may just stick with the smaller quantity TFPrime series for now.

Let's stick a new head on something and give it pretty colours WOOHOO! I'll admit if the oppurtunity arises I will most probably get some of these but would have thought some of these really deserved a completely new mold.

These are limited market exclusives. Not much different to the BotCon toys. Like BotCon why would they make new toys for a limited run when they can just repaint old toys. The fact that they are nearly all getting new heads and new weapons shows it not as lazy as the old Universe line. Some like Swerve, were probably always planned.
Maybe some of these characters will get new toys in 2013's Generations line (but so far those are all WFC/FOC toys). For people who don't like TFPrime this gives them something to look at buying.

A bit ironic how G2 Megatron is using Bludgeon's mold. Hold the head sculpt turns out proportionately better than Gigatron.
Also, Hasbro has been dodging this for a long time, but Springer really does need an original mold for himself.

Hasbro HK seems to be doing what TakaraTomy used to be praised for - accommodating the demands of more dedicated/selective collectors, who don't have as much interest in the mainstream lines as the general public do. They've seen the greater interest for the new (small) Generations line that homages Gen1 characters, over the larger Prime and Movie lines that are aimed more at kids/parents and fans of the movies/TV show.
Since they aren't just straight redecos, the added parts are about as much as they could afford on such a limited run... and are better than Hasbro US just changing colours and nothing else.
(at a glance though to me, this set looks more like a set of Custom figures, with the way some are shoe-horned into an alt-mode/robot-mode that isn't originally designed for them - I'll still buy them though :o )

From the images so far, Brawn's head remold looks promising. A bit odd on a gigantic body, but it doesn't look as odd as Classics Voyager Powerglide's body. The head might be useful refitted on ROTF Deluxe Brawn's body?

Big Bad Toy Store (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/) had some pretty fair prices for the recent Generations Fall of Cybertron Wave 1 figs. Jazz/OP/Shockwave were up for pre-order for $48USD before postage ($16USD ea).
I found postage to be about the same as other online stores, but you've got the added option of Pile of Loot (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/content.aspx?content=4) if you're not too much of a hurry.

RobotKingdom is based out of HK and source a lot of their product from Hasbro HK. They'd likely get cheaper prices since they don't need to import to the US and then post back to Aus like BBTS would. They might however put a markup on these because of their exclusivity.

Interested in Hotspot, Swerve, and Wheelie. Although the Jazz mold seems wrong for Wheelie. Maybe Cliffjumper, and Springer depending on their heads, strangely I'm only interested in how all the new heads look and if possible stick them on more appropriate molds. Hard to decide until we see the toys themselves rather than cardbacks, which will have photoshopped images anyway.

Quite surprised by the lack of attention to the fact that "Bluestreak" has been reacquired...:eek:
Personally I'm really digging Powerdive, Hoist, Sandstorm & Laserbeak and am really hoping RobotKingdom gets a hold of them; Seeing as though they're being released in their backyard. :D
A lot of them really seem superfluous to me. :o

Bluestreak was re-acquired a couple years ago, with the first *Hasbro* Bluestreak Transformers toy being the RPMs/Speedstars car in 2010 (http://www.tfu.info/2010/Autobot/SpeedStarsBluestreak/bluestreak.htm). There is also a Stealthforce Bluestreak and a Bluestreak Kreon (http://www.tfu.info/2011/Autobot/Kre-OBluestreak/bluestreak.htm) as well... but aside from those three and this new Generations toy, the one in 1984 (http://www.tfu.info/1984/Autobot/Bluestreak/bluestreak.htm) was the only "Bluestreak" toy called "Bluestreak" by Hasbro.
(I wanted to include a link on the tfwiki, but it seems to be down at the moment.)

If they're repainting RtS Optimus and Starscream, I wonder if they'll end up repainting RtS Megatron as Browning?
I've had that idea at the back of my mind for some time now, but it's never come to fruition due to my lack of painting skills. Would be an awesome little figure though, almost to scale with the MP series :p:p:p

The deluxes have sold out (in fact, over-pre-ordered) over at RK. All while I was deciding on whether or not to take the plunge. I can't seem to find them on sale or pre-order anywhere else I've looked.
Haven't seen the voyagers or leader class ones available anywhere either. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or have I missed the boat?

RK just put up more Deluxes last night (10pm NZ time) but at the increased price of $150US per case.
I managed to (hopefully) secure 3 cases to serve myself and other New Zealand collectors when listed at $120 a case; just hope I was early enough to actually secure. Seems they over sold originally.
Don't think I secured the Voyagers as I used a saved cart to order well after they were sold out.
Will be trying other online stores to secure some singles when released - have too many spare Prime Cliffjumpers to try and get anymore Swerve and Springer via case sales.
