Energy cubes

Anyone got or getting these energy cubes (http://tfsource.com/products/view/product_id/4421/)??? I saw them on TFSource and they got me interested but I can't find any YouTube reviews or anything on them. I want to know how they work and how well they work.

Just for curiosity's sake. Not interested in buying them.

Oh I just saw those yesterday as well when I was browsing at their website.... was planning on getting them but the cost seems too pricy.

Not sure how well they work, but the idea is that they are clear until you shine light through them/on them at which stage they "glow" purple. They remind me of Transitions lenses for eyeglasses where the lenses are permeated with silver chloride that reacts with sunlight to go a dark colour - I'm guessing these work in a similar fashion. What concerned me with them was that one report on them I read (edit: and the product description as well now) said that they only work with actual sunlight, not incandescent light and I'm not certain that I want my TF toys in a display that requires sunlight to be effective (thinking specifically of say G1 Jazz and Red alert).

Maybe it's the UV spectrum of sunlight that reacts to em, as you put it exactly how like the transition eyeglasses work. Since the ones i the sampe pics are clear those would have to be shots taken unde just normal indoor lighting, pity hey didn't show any samples under sunlight to see how "purple" they get.

As it stands though you're right about that UMackness ( and a very good pint!!) I wouldn't want to display my toys under sunlight, so this wouldn't be a good item for diorama - Ill just settle for the energy cubes (as seen in my sig) I have bought before - pre-colored so no need for sunlight heheheh:D

Got them from BBTS when they were selling em (on sale too) but they always run out of stock quick. Fortunately Bruticus sent me this link. You have to order it from them. Apparently it takes weeks for it to arrive coz they only make the order made once there is an order - so it could take up to 6 weeks of more. Im not so sure coz I havent really ordered from them... yet.

these cubes work well for any TF size and catches the light so it has that shimmer and shine especially visible on pics.
