Hasbro MP Thundercracker confirmed for TRU

Okay, so this morning I spoke with the manager on duty at Knox city TRU an got him to look up MP Thundercracker on their computer. Happily it is on their system, along with a price - $79.99! They had no other info aside from that and the manager said it means that TRU Australia has bought them, but they are yet to be delivered to the country. I also asked about preorder and he said they don't do it.

It'd have to be V2. I see no reason to use an inferior mould. However since I only have MP-11 I wouldn't mind V1 just for something different.

I really doubt that it will be the version 2 mold I think that they will just stay with the first and maybe do future seekers in the second mold, just to get the 3 main ones same and give the other 3 if they do decide to do them that little bit extra difference.

I've been waiting for a local Hasbro release of this figure, to complete my trio of Masterpiece F-15 Fighter Jets, for years :o; The circa $300 asking prices for the TakTom Thundercracker was/is just out of the question. :mad:

yes yes yes yes yes!!! i've been wanting this since forever currently have the first 2 seekers as hasbro releases and thought about buying tak thundercracker but in the end i decided it'd look out of place with its different coloring style / quality of build so i've been holding off for a hasbro release this has made my day.. now if only it could be out today :P

I already own the MP-03 mould seekers so it's of no real concern to me...but if I WAS going to be interested in this hasbro TC figure, I would be feeling the same as you. As nice as I'm sure the MP11 mould is, for those who have gone for hasbro's SS and SW, the new TC figure is going to be "a little" out of place...enough to annoy "me" at least, that's for sure.

For me, I'm actually quite excited to see that it's going to be utilising the MP-11 Retooling of the mold as it gives me an opportunity to own both versions :o; Also, consider the fact that Hasbro's MP Thundercracker is going to also include a Stand/Base & Swappable Missile payloads! :eek::D - Neither MP-11 nor MP-11S had either of those facets, though it is a given that these are in lieu of Screamer's Cape, Pauldrons & Crown. ;):cool:

The Walmart release was a US release of Takara's MP-3 mould. Masterpiece Thundercracker is a US release of Takara's MP-11 mould.

The two moulds are largely similar, with slight paneling changes, a new head, and remoulded legs and wings.

Manager checked on system and they are there :) ( good news ) for the $79.00 and are supposed to be Instock. So I asked what had happened? They said that the orders have not arrived yet as it looks like they were held back for some reason. So then I asked when they think they should be in? Was told that most probably be stocked in about 2 weeks or if not the start of October.:confused: So it looks like the only way to Find out if these guys are coming in is to keep checking your local TRU until they appear on the shelves. Hopefully within the 2 weeks and not the start of October!:(

I called up TRU this afternoon and got pretty much the same story as Cranky. The girl said that they were clearing lines from their shelves and didn't have much at the moment, but they are getting new lines in, one of which was MP Thundercracker. She also said that MP Optimus wa in the system at $149. I'm thinking some time in the next two weeks we'll start seeing them appear on the shelves (crossing fingers, toes etc!)

It depends on carrier and method, but it's not much at all.

I get basically all of my stuff directly from overseas, and with 2 week airmail I still come in well under Aus retail.

Where in the U.S can you get a MP-10? I haved scoured the U.S TRU website but its not there. I'm going to L.A in 13 days time so may miss out on getting him locally here in Perth.

I'd expect Times Square TRU to have higher prices than other TRU stores, due to the location... but then again TRU appear to be discounting Thundercracker on their website to $75 (http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12885992)... or are making out it was $100 to start with.

The MP Optimus is likely to be no longer on the website, as it was released in America a few months ago, and has probably sold out by now. The TRU near the LA airport didn't have any at the start September, so you might have to check out a number of stores (or ring around when you are there) to see if any in LA still have any left.

That's not really necessary. You managed to get a $20 saving by being quiet about the error, so calling them a name for missing out on scamming an extra $10 off is wrong and greedy.

Yeah, the last Prime was there...I wasn't calling her names cause of the $10, I was quite happy with the $20 off. What I wasn't impressed with was that she outright lied to me and the checkout girl after removing the ticket. She swore black and blue that there wasn't one there to start with, and made me look like a lying fool.

I had the takara TC and he was great, but this new retool is fantastic!!! The original mold has better jet mode but the new robot mode is just plain cool!
