Does anyone know when the target toy sale starts as they have started putting out toys here for it?

I don't think Target will ever be able to beat the price they had on that Leader Bee / Deluxe Screamer 2 pack :D
Hopefully that Deluxe Prime w/ Trailer comes down in price a bit. Also hoping the Lego UCS R2D2 gets featured.

That is a month earlier than normal! Maybe they have finally moved it up to June to compete with Kmart and Big W?
I haven't seen any promo's for any sale yet, which is weird, normally Target and Kmart have their catalogues (sans prices) ready a good fortnight ahead of their sales...

Where did you get the date from. I couldn't find anything on the Target website, and couldn't see anything mentioned in this week's and next week's catalogues.

I remember hearing that Target had moved their toy sale earlier this year. I think Target, Kmart and Big W will be running their toy sales at basically the same time this year. I know that Kmart's is usually lined up with the Vic school holidays.

I know it's been moved earlier than previously, but when I was last working there, we were told that not many people are allowed to know the exact date.
We'll find out once catalogues arrive...

There are pics in the 'NSW' thread.
At $59 each already, can't imagine the what price they'd be at on sale.

Okay, I'll add the date in the title (and when item details are known, we'll start a new topic so that the details are in the first post for people to easily find)

$59 is really is really cheap for leader figures, I wonder if it's a mistake or if they have their sale prices out early.

Are we sure this is going to be the 21st? That's VERY early by Target's standards compared to previous years

I've only seen the commercials for when the catalogue will be delivered, and that is this weekend.
Though when I sighted the Weaponizers, Target was already setting up displays in various isles (a whole bunch of Iron Man 2 3.75") with a girls toys section near the cosmetics section, and the boys toys this year were near the front entrance.
Usually a good indication they are ready to sale!

Saw the commercial tonight, that the catalogues are being delivered to homes this weekend... which would be way to early for a July sale, so supports the June 21st date.

Received an email from target this morning confirming the 21st. Also the catalogue will be available online just after midnight tonight.

The rear of the Optimus in truck mode is just plain nasty IMO. Saw a youtube review of it and its not worth the $59.

Well, it explains where they got their $59 Voyager price from... It wasn't just plucked out of the air - someone got the two size classes mixed up when entering them into the system, and had the Voyagers priced as Leaders when the first came out.

Was surprised that Target was bringing forward their toy sale this year. They usually only start mid July.

Sounds about right. So what's Myers excuse?

Well since Big W and K-Mart don't even want to offer their catalogues price free like they used to, Target has just gained three very spend-happy customers.
Huzzah?
There are a few good deals in there, mostly games and Lego, but damn if that $49 for an Ultra sized figure isn't tempting (sorry, but they just don't look big enough to be leaders).

From here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=4852):
Officially, Myer Pricing Policy states 'we will not lead the market on price', so outside of sales, their prices will be the same or more than other stores.
Which basically means that they don't care what they price things at, or how they compare... Shopping at Myer (and David Jones) is more for the image of shopping there, than the item. Upper class people shop there instead of Kmart or BigW, so it draws in other people wanting to appear as if they are part of that more affluent image (like the saying - keeping up with the Jones).

Just viewed Targets offerings online. Rather boring tbh. That Lego R2D2 looks good. The TFs are nothing special.

How they stay in business is a mystery to me
Either way, you've helped me to decide what to get the misses for our wedding anniversary - DOTM Bumblebee from Myers with the price tag left on. She can wear it around her neck and flash it at all the lowly Kmart, Target, and Big W shoppers ;) :p

For it is a privelage to shop at Myer and David Jones... or something.

It comes down to self-imposed standards... eating, electronics, housing, vehicle, shopping, etc. People will refrain from certain standards that they consider are beneath them, unless they have no choice. And sometimes go above their means (affordable standards) in order to keep up with others (especially their more affluent "friends"), or for their own ego.

Myer / David Jones just put the toys there so that upper-class parents could keep their kids busy while they shop for expensive clothing/appliances etc. They really don't care that much about the toys. Rarely does the toy stock at my local Myer/DM stores change except for lego.
