Not to be confused with the holy grail thread, this thread is meant for characters you wish would go into production as a new mould or repaint.
Try to include relevant pictures to keep the thread interesting.
So without any further adieu, I'll start:
1. War For Cybertron (DS) Rodimus:
Small Voyager or Large Deluxe

My apologies. I had a look through the last 4 or 5 pages and I couldn't find a thread with this premise. All I could find was a thread devoted to listing 40 Generations figures people would like to see.
I look forward to seeing your list.

Maybe you could provide a picture of the vehicle you'd like to see as her alt mode? The Classics/Generations line has modernised the alt modes of almost every character so far, so Arcee would probably be a modern car as well.

I don't want a Generations Arcee toy with a modern realistic Earthen alt mode. We already got that with Binaltech Arcee (Honda S2000). I'd like to see a Generations Arcee toy that is a physical incarnation of her G1 model -- retaining the futuristic-Cybertronian fantasy alt mode, similar to what we saw with Classicsverse Hot Rod and Cyclonus.
Animated Arcee's the one transforming toy that comes the closest to G1 Arcee, but of course, she's still heavily stooped in the Animated design aesthetic. Imagine a toy of a similar level of engineering, but based on the G1 model. That's pretty much what I'd love to see.

3rd Party Valkyrie. Whether you admit it or not THAT IS THE MOULD that IS G1 Arcee, which will never see the official release light of day coz the 3rd party beat Hasbro into making one. But since this is a Fantasy wishlist kinda thread ... if Hasbro is to release one - it would basically be the same only tougher plastic I presume.
The mould anyways I believe was based or "taken from" the Arcee toy ( garage kit figure) which was the official price in a raffle from a Japanese Toy covention in the early years like late 80s to 90s - whether sanctioned by Takara or not, I don't have a clue. I've seen an article and it in a link website hosted by the now extinct Geocities so the site no longer exists, SO when I saw Valkyrie and that other one Delicate warrior (Xena built hehehehe) - sporting everything almost identical in look and transformation from the pics of that raffle figure Arcee I knew they got to whoever won it and reverse engineered the thing. The Garage kit figure had better (waaay more) QC in built and Im guessing it could be like those garage kit Powerglide and Wheelie shown a few years back from one of them Winter toy festival in Japan.
SO for pics to Gok's fantasy figure we can only provide a 3rd party figure ... shame really, oh and these are old stock photos btw :o:)

Alt mode's pretty close to the toons anyhow - just needs better quality materials and built. Coz As you can see in the closeup it definitely looks KO materials and finish QC wise - but hey Hasbro continue to fail us on this so I got this for now.:p

http://tfarchive.com/fandom/kitbashes/Hironori_Kobayashi/Botcon_Arcee The story you're referencing is actually a bit different, what happened was an Arcee was made by a fan and won a competition. The fan (Hironori Kobayashi) was then hired by Takara and went on to design most Binaltech and Masterpieces... At some point his Arcee design was ripped off and released by the third party and as you say appears almost identical.

Thanks for clearing that up, I guess the article I read have gotten it mixed up or it could be I got it mixed up since it was a long time ago and I was more interested in the pictures than the article itself heheheh... ah well 4th hand info passed along always end up distorted :D (as like that parlour game - pass the message). Still if Hasbro picked up the design - seeing as they freakin hired the dude who made it in the first place they would've capitalized so much from it. tsktsktsk jst goes to show , you cannot fathom what their way of thinking about the franchise is.:rolleyes:
Thanks for the link too kurdt! First time I saw those pics I was so elated, but when I learned it wasn't a mass retail item I just went sad sad sad
But yeah THAT mould is defnitely G1 Arcee... and if they ever make 1 it SHOULD be just like that!
In addition I'd like a Generations Fort Max - that new look design they've got for him in the ongoing comics looks wicked - from what I can work out it loos like he transforms into a battle station platform of sorts or could be a mobile battle tank/station of sorts. It's really interesting they comeup with these new characters who I hope end up with their own official figures ... just like Drift did. Rung looks like a motorbike of some sorts to me - Id like a figure of him too to stand next to my Generations Red Alert figure hehehehe:D
OH and also if they can come up with Omega Supreme - just like how he is in the new comics, THAT is awesome... the base mode is freakin cool IMO - a playset for generations toys wohooo!

If Hasbro releases an Arcee for the Generations line it would probably be the WFC version.
As for third party Arcees this review is a pretty good reference:

Speaking of Arcee, I don't really want the G1 aesthetics, or an earth alt mode. Must be Cybertronian, the WFC cybertron version looks about right. I'd like the character to look like she is wearing armor, without an exaggerated female form.
Deluxe seems fine. For me though it needs to be a package deal, the mold needs to be made into Elita 1, Moon Racer, Chromia, Firestar.
Right now because of the smaller deluxes, it seems the perfect size for characters such as Cosmos and Beachcomber. Id like to see Generations Crankcase, Barricade, Leadfoot.

Not just better plastic, but also better design. Visually I can see that Valkyrie and Delicate Warrior may look like G1 Arcee, but as playable action figures I think they're awful -- just far too flimsy, even if you improve the plastic quality. It's like the original MP Starscream mould, they improved the plastic quality after MP03, but the subsequent versions are still inherently craphouse action figures because of the underlying flaws of the design itself; which is possibly what prompted TakaraTOMY to redesign that mould for the new MP Starscream (and upcoming MP Sunstorm) toys. Also, having such a frail Deluxe toy may also create legal issues in terms of child safety regulations (e.g. choking hazards etc.). MP03, like all Japanese MPs, was marketed at Ages 15+, and Hasbro's MP Starscream had superior more durable plastic.
Animated Arcee is a far more solid action figure with decent play value (my only real gripe is how the spoilers fall off too easily - don't know why they just didn't glue them into place). So I'd love to see a Generations Arcee toy designed with a similar visual aesthetic as say the third party Not-Arcees, but with a similar standard of engineering and playability as Animated Arcee.

Perfect Effects Motorbot is a pretty durable toy, lost of poseability too, but of course she is a departure from the classic G1 Arcee form with her bike mode, still she's Arcee enough for me.

Well they could make most of the parts Die cast for an arcee making it more sturdy, but yeah if ever loose the hi -heels. The 3rd party figure hi heels is just horrible when trying to stand the figure... I keep my not Arcee up with some blu tack heheheh:p

That's one sweet custom. :)
The reason why Generations G1 style Arcee tops my list is because we've never had a proper G1 Arcee transformable action figure before. Remember when Armada Unicron first came out and everybody got super excited over it (myself included)? I know that as soon as news came out that Unicron had been sighted at David Jones, I raced over to my nearest one after work and grabbed two (one for myself, the other for another OTCAer). And I think Ben Yee described the euphoric feeling of getting this toy best -- it's the toy that we'd been waiting 18 years for! :D
It's been 26 years since TFTM hit cinemas and we saw Arcee... still no official action figure of her yet. :o :( Generations has been giving us several characters which debuted in media which didn't have toys before, like Drift and Straxus (Darkmount). Why not Arcee?

Short of that, a 5 Wave assortment of Generations Beast Wars figures focusing on 'On-screen' characters only; the iteration of each character utilised in the line being put to a fan vote, with the 'End Say' obviously going to HasTak for all the logical toy development & demographic-based marketing reasons. :)
Beast Wars fans are often cited as a rabidly vocal minority, why not satiate such hunger on a focused line aimed at collectors that kids can also appreciate? ;)

frogDNA hangs out on tfw2005 and has a customs shop so you should be able to commission him to make you one. The only downside is it doesn't transform any more because of all of the part splicing he's done to the figure.

I think a toy like this might work well as something like a Revoltech (i.e. highly detailed non-transformable Transformer action figure), but not so much as a Masterpiece because Masterpieces still need to be able to transform from relatively G1-accurate robots to alt modes. Sure, some MPs achieve this better than others, but that's always been the general concept of Masterpiece and what they all at least attempt to strive for. :)

they could always make the legs hollow so they ciuld split in half and cover over the purple. I was thinking, what type of gimmicks or items would he have?
Heaven forbid another matrix, but there's really no other items to include. I have this idea that they could make his head out of that semi- translucent plastic- and put a slightly smaller head of his robo skeletal system out of translucent green plastic and put a light inside. That way, you could press a button and his head will light up, and show his robo-skeleton thing, and you could see it because the head is semi- translucent. Or, you could lift up his face on a hinge/door thing to reveal his robo-skeleton. Maybe his particle accelerator could light up purple/pink and make that noise we all love and try to replicate but fail at doing so. Makes you think, doesn't it.

A pair of post-'hint' Starscream feet from TFTM. Maybe a crushed coronation crown as well.

A tiny pair of Rodimus Prime and Headstrong figures for him to hold in his hands a la Nightmare Planet.
A small version of himself in his 3rd handgun-laser mode, capable of being held by himself and/or other MPs.
His home-(well, psychiatric-ward)-made gun from Webworld.
The Key to the Plasma Energy Chamber.
Translucent "Crazy-energy-bolts" attachments for his head.

Maybe, though I honestly can't think of how you could get the panels to work as his legs without him ending up with elephant feet. I'd honestly just settle for a purple alt-mode and a really good robot mode.
Then again, someone managed to make PRiDE Vehicon, so it's possibly possible.
Trumpets would be sweet, but six of them would be a bit much to ask from a Hasbro/Takara-Tomy MP figure - especially if you wanted pre- and post-blasted versions. If you're going to do them as a custom I'd suggest scaling them for Hercules or one of the other 3rd party not-Constructicon sets rather than the smaller official Constructicon sets.

Yeah, I was thinking a purple alt mode would be fine, as you can still see a lot of purple anyway in the alt mode. but they still got to maek teh alt mode good, as it is an aweome and quite simple transformation. I think the poblem with most customs is that they use energon Gaalvatron's legs, which are quite bulky. Might contact a 3rd party to make one. (if they can)
I think most of those features would work. Just watched web- world today, funny episode- but his custom gun imo is a bit too generic to include (since he has a friggin particle accelerator on his arm!)

I'd want it more for the sheer bad-assery of going into therapy for being utterly insane...and then making a gun in the psychotherapy shop class.
Which he then proceeds to fire at everything around him.
It's kind of like the way the gun MP Megs came with wasn't that crash-hot design-wise...but it was still the gun he killed Optimus Prime with.

Maybe Toyworld could make one? They made that awesome Hegemon figure.(Megatron) I'd eb happy with a deluxe if they made it to fit with my classicsverse but MP size would be great. Maybe a table as well that he made it on or the "mama"alien figure. I got this idea of a plactic/elastic kinda thing (trying to say strectchy plastic) that can fit tightly around his body like those purple thigns they have. Basically just every character from that six part first arc of Ongoing (the arc where everyone spent a lot of time crying about the art).
Especially Rodimus, Ultra Magnus and Blurr.
(I am aware that several of them were based on existing Universe 2.0 toys)
Oh also, EJ Su F-22 Raptor Starscream/assorted other seekers.
I'd be all over an Ongoing Rodimus figure:

I'm not sure whether it's great or annoying that you can see exactly how it would transform.
Great in the sense that it's plausible, annoying in the sense that it hasn't been done!

Definitely annoying that it hasn't been done. You can just tell it would have amazing articulation.

Don't forget that there's a massive difference between making a character transform on paper (or on screen) and making it transform as a toy IRL. I'm not saying that it wouldn't be possible for HasTak to give us a Rodimus toy based on that particular Ongoing G1 model (though I personally never liked Figueroa's Neo-G1/Movie hybrid style) - I'm sure they could... after all, they did give us Drift. :) But I think one shouldn't expect it to be 100% comic-accurate. It could come close, but it'll never been completely the same. You look at any TF toy that was developed as media characters first (e.g. movieverse, Animated, Prime) -- they'd come close, but they're never exact.
IMO Alternators Rodimus comes fairly close to that Rodimus design. <shrug> I also personally prefer Transformers to be designed as toys first, media characters second. (JMHO)

Which version? Machine Wars, Animated, DOTM would be easy enough -- they're vehicles. A G1 Soundwave as a tape-deck with wheels would be pretty funny though. :D But hey, they made Choro-Q Megatron which was a gun with wheels and a pull back motor... so why not a G1 Soundwave that can roll? ;)

I haven't kept up with the comicverse but I find that Megs very uninspiring:eek: Bottom half of his legs are way to big and the colour design is very boring:rolleyes:.

After seeing that Megatron I decided to get Shadow Blade Megatron (http://tfwiki.net/w2/images2/f/fc/SBAniMegs..jpg) when I found it for cheap (loose) at a fair. That and there was nothing else at the Fair I wanted to buy (as usual :p). I find that toy comes close to that Megatron (as he is black with purple highlights) if you can get over the Animated aesthetic. There are various other black versions of G1 Megatron, but none other I can think of that have purple accents... Diamond Black Alternity Megatron looks pretty neat IMO, and I'm normally not a fan of black Megatron repaints (or random black repaints of any TF for that matter).

Honestly? - Any of 'em dude as just one would be nice, especially seeing as though there is like 9 Primes & 7 Megatrons!:(

Seconded.
While there is not a lot of G1 Megs in that design, I really like it's unusual shapes, it makes him stand out like some sort of Megatron from the future. Transparent purple plastic would be required though.

I'd like to get more Master's. I know they will never make new Headmasters, Godmasters and Brainmasters (except for MP SS). So I'd like some reissues of them. Then Hasbro and Takara need to keep the Targetmasters coming in the Classicsverse/Henkei lines.

I wont go into the detail I have in the past with other threads of this type so I'll just say I'd like them to make every WFC/FOC character that hasn't had a toy yet, from Arcee to the Dinobots to Jetfire to Slipstream to Trypticon to Warpath :D

I'd love WFC Trypticon. Heck I want everything from the games made. The game figures are what is currently displayed as my main transformers. I just love everything about them :D

+1. They work really well. Touch of classics, with a touch more mechanical and detail on them. Was just playing with Optimus, just realised I just like how much I like how both modes look. Shockwave is great too. Some proportions on the Combaticons and Bruticus are kind of wonky, but they look generally good.
I'd buy the heck out of a WFC/FOC Trypticon, provided it would have some kind of Nemesis mode. I'd like a FOC Slug as well, along with the rest of the Dinobots in some general classics-y representation.

Yes the dinobots would be a fantastic addition if they decided to make the rest of them. At the least with Bruticas you can form him in some ways that IMO look pretty decent. And again if you're willing to shell the cash out, you can get the BEK sets to make him look even better.
I'd love them to make an ARK playset from the game as well. Would love to have a giant one sitting up in launch position behind a team of autobots and wreckers defending it prior to launch. Something on the same scale as the 'G. I. Joe - U.S.S. Flagg Aircraft Carrier'. Oh boy, I'm drooling thinking of that now :D

As long as it's not a scramble city, I'd drool over that. He would of fit really well in the game too.

Classicsverse G1 combiners.
YEP.
I get the feeling that FOC Bruticus was fairly successful, so I'm hopeful that in the next 5 years we'll start to see these, apart from starting to run out of other popular G1 characters to include in Generations.
with slightly more developement and manufacturing budget than Bruticus appeared to have I'd have high hopes and expectations for some Official Combiner teams. ironically it would make some of my favorite earlier classics toys obsolete.
I'd love to see the current design philosophy of the massterpiece line extended to combiners.
The biggest problem with these systems is the weight of 5 robots or more on the joints and connections in the lower robots. It imposes a lot of design limitations as soon as poseability ouside of standing there is considered.

2-3-odd more: At least a few of the Micromaster Off-Road patrol recreated with Prime Cyberverse remolds.
Optimus as Powertrain, Bulkhead as Mudslinger, and you could probably shoehorn Cyberverse Ironhide as Highjump. Legion Ratchet might do for Tote.
I'd actually be fine with just Powertrain - get on it TFCC!:p

The more I think about it, the more I think that Armada Megatron really needs a decent toy made of him. And by decent, I mean with leg articulation. I know it'd be another Megatron in the Generations line, and I have no clue how they would work it into the fiction, but still. It would at least have built in repaint value if they decided to go the Galvatron route, or as Megazarak if not (which they could easily introduce into the IDW comics).
