View Full Version : Reissue Sixshot still coming

This was only recently commented on the other day in another section, but it looks like the Reissue of Gen1 Sixshot is still coming in August, according to online store Kapow toys (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/reissue-g1-sixshot-confirmed/25223/).

Apparently it will have special/expensive packaging, but that might just be the Asian release (as previous JP reissues & Masterpiece have had bonus items with their Asian/HK release). Or maybe there won't be a Japanese release at all, which might be why we haven't seen anything of it in recent JP Hobby magazines.

That's excellent news but now I'm preparing myself for how much he will cost...

Good news for people that don't have him yet. Hopefully he won't be too expensive and they won't skimp out on material quality too much.

I've been waiting for this one for ages, but it's a bit disappointing that it's not going to be an encore figure, I'm sort of dreading what the price tag will be like...

Here is one for sale but i'm not sure if it's a reissue or a ko or a wst or whatever.

The 2002 reissue was incredible -- I didn't get it, but I once did a side by side comparison w/ someone else's reissue Sixshot and my original G1 Sixshot - virtually identical to the original! :) The last Sixshot reissue sold for 4980JPY ($61), so I'd expect the upcoming reissue to be around the same price as usually the RRP of reissues don't fluctuate too wildly.

e.g.
+ 2000 Convoy = 4980JPY ($61.08) / Encore Convoy = 5000JPY ($61.33)
+ 2005 Soundblaster = 5500JPY ($67) / Encore Soundblaster = 5250JPY ($64)
+ 2006 Twincast = 5000JPY ($61) / Encore Twincast = 5250JPY ($64) (remember that eHobby Twincast only comes w/ 1 cassette & Encore comes w/ 2)

Does anyone remember the RRP for the 2010 Edition Predaking reissue? Anyway, I'd be expecting Sixshot to be around the $60-70 mark.

I paid about $180 I think. and I'd expect the re-issue sixshot to be at least $100.

2010 Predaking retailed for 15,750Y vs 14,000Y for the 2004 reissue.

The 2004 Predaking reissue retailed for 14000JPY, or $171, so $180 isn't too far off that.

That's a massive hike from the $61 RRP of the previous reissue and I don't think we've ever seen Takara(TOMY) jack up the price of a subsequent reissue like that before. I'd be really disappointingly surprised if the RRP turned out to be so ridiculously expensive. :(

I guess with a higher expectation and it's is released at a lower cost it comes as a nice surprise... Better to be prepared.. Then you always have postage on top again...RRP is great if you can pick it up in a store....

I wonder if they will do a greatshot.....

Japan-based online stores like HLJ and Amiami tend to sell at RRP or less (they often give pre-order discounts). But yeah, postage is a factor (making saving money on the core cost of the toy more important IMHO :)).

The way Kapow seems to say "Asia Exclusive" and "not part of the Encore line" seems to indicate that this is a Hasbro Asia exclusive.

Which means that the price may in fact be higher than what Takara have previously charged for their releases.

I hope it gets another release with the encore series that way it's cheaper. Coz the metallic and leather packaging adds more to its price, I'm not too interested in packaging anyways. A retooled release into Greatshot figure would be most welcome as well.

I did manage to get one of the 2004 releases, but always wanted a second to open as I have great memories of getting the figure in 1989 in a trip to Auckland, New Zealand and playing with it for the next 10 years *until they all got boxed up and sent to the Salvation Army*

Hoping not to expensive .. but being a limited edition Hasbro Asia release I am expecting a good retail price hike.

This is probably an inflated price, but one can preorder from the Engrishly-named EhobbyBaseShop for $150 here: http://www.ehobbybaseshop.com/?sp=&p=6&cat2=27&cat1=3&cat0=3&id=690&cat1=3&cat0=3&new=1&more=&lang=en#

Errrr... $150?? No Thanks. I bought reissue Predaking for close to that amount.

Well, BBTS has it for $185... so $150 isn't too bad compared to that (and possibly cheaper shipping from HK than BBTS too).

But the reason for the high price (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/asian-exclusive-sixshot-reissue-to-feature-metallic-paint-and-chrome-guns/25287/) (aside from it being limited-edition and in a fancy box) is that it will have some metallic paint (like United toys I think) and chromed weapons (like Henkei).

2010 Predaking had metallic colours, but it wasn't so massively inflated over the price of the 2004 reissue. Although I don't think it was a limited exclusive... but even so... that's an incredibly massive price hike. That's proportionately worse than the price hike on Gentei Thundercracker and Skywarp (which retailed for about $50 each). :(

Yeah if that's the price then I'll pass. As cool as Sixshot is that price is a bit steep.

Looks like I'm never going to own him:rolleyes:

That is more than the after market price I paid for the last reissue.

That's a bit rich, I can't afford to blow that much. I'd rather save the money for mp Prime or Soundwave

Wow, what a waste. I'd be up for a reissue, but I don't care whether or not it comes in a normal box or a special box. I'll be opening it anyway.

Paaaaass. At least this means that it's fairly likely we'll see an Encore release, eventually.

Official Pics have been released/found (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/generation-1-sixshot-asia-exclusive-resissue-official-images-175506/), showing that it is indeed a non-Encore release, as it is packed in a book-style box, similar to the SDCC Bruticus.
The toy colours appear to be identical to the original & reissue, with just the accessories chromed instead of grey.
Apparently it is going to be released at a convention in HongKong in August.

It looks good but i prefer collecting series, variants or the like. It is a very nice one off but even if more figures have this packaging the collective (assumed) high price would be the killer for me here.

+1. besides, the Encore boxes are nice enough as it is.
