Couldn't find a good place ot put this, but its a creatve idea, so i will put it here.
We all know that when we send an idea to hasbro or takara, we always get the answer, no not at the moment. I have an idea that can change that.
I love Galvatron. He's a friggin artillery cannon- not a tank. (looking at you hasbro) One of the awesomest, funniest characters in the whole
g1 series. (if you like season 3/4) but alas, we haven't got a carton accurate toy of him since th original release. (which is still a little bulky, but what can ya do) I and many people want a cartoon accurate galvatron with the same vehicle mode, not some tank or cybertronian spaceship. (looking at you, bayverse Megatron) So I, Bidoofdude, on this day, am starting a petition for a cartoon accurate Galvatron that has the same altmode as the cartoon, not a crummy/crumby (don't know how to spell it properly) tank. Nothing special, not oversized, just your plain old G1 CARTOON accurate Galvatron (and maybe a redeco for those comic fans out there) Basically just imagine G1 cartoon galvatron transforming from robot mode to altmode. Those two modes, but in toy form. An 100% accurate, deluxe or voyager class toy of Galvatron. If I can get 75-100 people to agree with this on these forums, I will mail that petition to Hasbro or Takara. I believe this will strongly notify the designeing team what the people want. Please enter your name in the following sequence of writing. For example:
I, (name), agree to have my name put onto the petition for a G1 accurate Galvatron toy in either the deluxe or voyager size class for the Transformers line.
Thank you and please do us all a favour and put your name down. Hail Galvatron. Please note spam such as hate posts, flaming etc. will not be acceptable and are liable to prosecution form admins/mods. Only posts agreeing to the petition are allowed to be posted here

a petition of 100 people wont make hasbro/takara do anything at all, you would be better off getting in contact with a 3rd party company to recreate it

Yeah definitely contact a 3rd party over Has/Tak. Or if you just want one for yourself then contact a radicon. There will be people who will make you one if your happy to pay

Hasbro would not care about a fan request for a toy like that regardless of how many people sign a petition. As mentioned above, you are better off contacting a 3rd party company with your idea.

We'll see if we do get it or not, but it's worth trying. What did i say in the first psot. Warning. believe it might change something, so are you down for it or not. If it won't wokr, theres no harm in agreeing to have ur name on it. And a 3rd party would be way too expensive ($50 or more) and im not willing to pay that for a galvatron.
Who knows, I migt be able to get the whole forum to have their names, jsut to prove my point and how many people want it.
you could have 5 times the ammount of members on this forum with their names on a petition, and they will still blatantly ignore you.
Most of what hasbro produce, not just in the transformers toyline, but as a company as a whole isnt aimed at us, we just like them anyway :P
In the end they are a company, and they will produce what they see the most profit in, and a g1 accurate galvatron toy is definitely not on that list.
im not trying to be an ass or crush your spirit or anything, im having my say, even if it disagrees with your point of view, as im allowed to do on this forum :P

Erm... I'm not signing, but I just want to point out that G1 Galvatron had three modes - robot, artillery cannon, and laser pistol. Galvatron did occasionally transform into this mode which also used mass-shifting to reduce his size to either a Transformer-sized pistol or a human-sized pistol. We've seen Galvatron transform into his pistol mode twice in G1 canon ("Target: 2006, Part 1" and "Wrecking Havoc").
So technically if you want a G1-accurate Galvatron toy, it should also have a laser pistol mode too - which in theory shouldn't be too difficult because it's fundamentally just a reconfiguration of the cannon mode (basically it's the cannon with the treads shifted up and a gun handle pulled down).
But as Blackie said, Transformers isn't primarily aimed at us, it's aimed at kids. For that reason sometimes Classicsverse toys need to have more marketable alt modes that the broader children's market will appeal to. In my opinion, the problem with Universe Galvatron wasn't the fact that he was a tank, it's the fact that he just wasn't a very well designed toy. Look at Darkmount -- Hasbro felt that his space cannon mode wasn't marketable to kids, so they made him transform into a tank. But it's a good solid design.
When it comes to realising G1 characters for toys today, there has to be some give and take -- they can try to make the characters G1 enough for fans to like, but it has to also have a broader general appeal for kids. If you want a high end toy that's aimed exclusively at collectors, then you'd be better off contacting TakaraTOMY. Because they cater more for the collectors market -- Masterpiece is a line where you're more likely to see a G1 media-like toy realised, because TakaraTOMY make and market it to the more mature collector's market (which is why all their MPs say "For Ages 15 And Up"). It's also why their toys are far more complex (and expensive) beyond the engineering and price range of an average Transformer that's marketed at kids.

I'm sorry, but if you consider $50 to much to pay for the perfect Galvatron toy that you want then you're just straight out dreaming. Not to mention that you stated that a deluxe or voyager would suffice. Guess how much that voyager would cost? If you wont even pay a measly sum for the most 'perfect' Galvatron representation ever, then why would Hasbro spend their own money making one?
Hasbro has already given us a perfectly good Galvatron toy (classics, which is also very cheap) and although it may be lacking, do you think Hasbro has nothing better to do than to design a new Galvatron?
Hasbro recently tried to completely kill off the dinobots and originally denied High Moon from even including them into FoC (http://www.vg247.com/2012/04/25/hasbro-originally-denied-the-inclusion-of-dinobots-in-fall-of-cybertron/).
In addition, it seemed that Hasbro were concerned that any nostalgia attached to the Dinobots by older fans would be lost on the new generation of fans that Hasbro were targeting.
As you would be well aware, the dinobots are vastly more popular than Galvy (would you like me to name another 20 TFs that actually deserve an update that are also more popular than Galvy?). Fans have been asking for new dinobots for years but to no avail apart from Grimlock.
As it has been said many times already, Hasbro will just pass this off no matter how many signatures you have. I doubt they would not even think twice if you had the entire TFW2005 behind you.
so are you down for it or not.
No.
So you gonna sign it or just stand there
No.
So u gonna sign it or what.
No.
Sky Shadow, I'll be waiting in line at the gallows behind blackie, kup, Gok and yourself. :p

The Universe Galvatron toy has its flaws, but you're right - it's been done, and I doubt that Hasbro would have any desire to revisit the concept again. If you look at the entire history of Classicsverse toys, except for Legends Class, characters are rarely redone as whole new moulds. The only exceptions I can think of are:
+ Optimus Prime (x3 non-Legends moulds: CLA, UB & RtS DLX)
+ Megatron (x2: CLA & UB)
Even Bumblebee has only ever had one Deluxe mould in Classicsverse (well, two if you include Generations - but that's based on his War For Cybertron form and not a revisit of G1). And he's freaking Bumblebee!! :D

I wish you were wrong KS. If they we're going to redesign a Galvatron and a "perfect" one at that, then I would also want it to be more than Deluxe or Voyager. Anything less than MP would not suffice. And I'd sure as hell be willing and prepared to pay 4x the $50 price tag that bidoofdude is hoping for. So Masterpiece Galvatron please. PLEASE, dammit, PLEASE!
That doesn't mean I'm signing, though.

Most of us who have been around for a while will know why this sort of thing wont work, so there is no need to spoil the fun of the person instigating this by harping on about it.
A petition though, for a specific toy or concept, would be more effective on the global fansites, as Australia and our fan numbers, would be considered so insignificant to Hasbro, that no one there above the person reading the mail would ever know about it.
If you want to improve your chances of being noticed by Hasbro, try tfw2005 or seibertron.
If the fans there support the idea enough to make it a news item or a popular talking point in the American fandom, then you might have someone important at Hasbro finding out about it.
For here though, have a bit of fun with your dream, and see if anyone here is supportive of the idea of another, more Gen1-accurate Galvatron toy.
I just don't think it is necessary to have more people picking on how and why it could/should/would fail.... or going to the trouble of saying that they won't support it. If you won't sign, there is no need to say so.
Let him enjoy his project.

Lets put this in perspective - there are more fans wanting a proper G1-esq Arcee toy and Hasbro hasn't done that after almost 30 years.

I think if the classicverse Galvatron was a voyager the result would have been a much better toy. The MP line would be the best bet for an accurate/awesome figure and I predict Takara will announce a $150+ MP Galvatron within the next 2 years. My 2c.

they tried to kill off the dinobots!? What witchcraft is this?!
Not really 'killed off' as in fictionally but more about allowing them to disappear into obscurity.
For about 10 years now (and getting worse as time goes), it hasn't really been about what fans or even kids want. It's been about meeting retail store demands, in particular Walmart. The retail stores are Hasbro's real customers.
Walmart has a perception that Bumblebee is the best character that everyone wants along with Optimus Prime and as a result we get a flood of them all the time even if they repeatedly peg warm at stores. They also only want vehicles so Dinobots and other beasts are no longer part of the toy equation. This is why you see the same sort of stuff being released constantly with no variation.
Despite criticisms against the movie, the fact that Michel Bay and the studio heads were the ones deciding characters and vehicles allowed for a fair bit of variations. Unfortunately as soon as that was over and Hasbro took full creative control, variation was soon over and we went back with the same minimal offerings of boring yellow cars and red trucks and maybe another character or two.
Hasbro has a set and very narrow template which they seemed adamant to adhere to and use it for every branch of the franchise often referred to as 'The Aligned' (or TF Prime) continuity. Since Dinobots are not part of that template, they don't want to hear of them. The same would go for Galvatron.
Highmoon was very fortunate to convince Hasbro to allow them to use the Dinobots but as we have heard in Interviews, it wasn't easy to convince them. I doubt we will see Dinobots in toy form, at least not officially during this era.

I'd recommend setting up an online petition (at a site like www.petitionspot.com or similar) which you can promote across various boards and online communities, and have one central location for all the people who want to help or agree that they'd buy a new Galvatron toy.

^This sounds like the best way to get a petition moving and keep track of it.

Some things to consider regarding recommending MP Galvatron to TakaraTOMY.
1) Have you considered contacting TakaraTOMY directly?
http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/support/other.html
0011-81-3-5650-1031
0011-81-6-6395-1031
Call centres are open only on weekdays between 10am to 5pm Japan time (+9 UTC), excluding public holidays (http://calendar.retira.eu/public-holidays/japan/2012/).
Or go here (http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/support/privacypolicy.html) if you want to send them an email.
(Note: Japanese language only)
2) You are in Australia which is part of Hasbro's market. TakaraTOMY and Hasbro have a contract between them that disallows them from "cross contaminating" each other's market. Basically, if you want something done regarding Transformers, they're likely to tell you to ask Hasbro. But Hasbro have never made decisions regarding which toys to make into Masterpieces... they've only ever adapted Takara(TOMY)'s Masterpieces for their markets (as will happen with MP10 Convoy/Optimus Prime). Hasbro don't seem to have any input into the decision-making process as to which character becomes the next Masterpiece AFAIK.

I'd recommend you call TakaraTOMY. I've always found them to be easily approachable, polite and efficient in addressing any queries/comments. The worst thing they'll tell you is to talk to Hasbro... but you might as well try to talk to TakaraTOMY first since they've always been the ones who've conceived/designed every Masterpiece toy to date.
When it comes to Masterpieces and reissues, Hasbro has always been reactive and never pro-active. Look at the history of every Masterpiece and reissue that Hasbro's ever done, they've always - without exception - been something that Takara(TOMY) did first. Hasbro may tweak something here or there to suit their market or even try to make an improvement, but they've always been reactive. So considering that Hasbro's never been pro-active with Masterpieces before, I highly doubt that they're going to do so for a MP Galvatron.
But if you really want to give it shot, then give Hasbro's RI main HQ a buzz. But I should warn you that whenever I've tried calling them I've always gotten an automated voicemail response -- but if you like you can leave a recorded message for them. That's another reason why I'd recommend calling TakaraTOMY first... you actually get to speak to a human being! (特に日本語が分かれば問題ないでしょう ;))
Anyway, if you wanna contact Hasbro, here's their number:
0011-1-401-431-8697
I'm guessing that they're open during trading hours on weekdays, and their time zone is -4 UTC. Their Customer Service line (http://www.hasbro.com/customer-service/phone-directory.cfm) is open Mon-Fri 08:00-20:00 EST (they're currently in EDT) and Sat 10:00-18:30.
