I think it's a lucky draw, possibly a WonderFest exclusive... Otherwise they look a little questionable apart from Unicron of whom I know to be an exclusive. ;):)

I actually came across one of these at "Toys Golden Age" in Akihabara at the beginning of the year. It was loose and they were asking about 8-9000yen. Definitely regret not picking it up! :(

Someone who's incredibly lucky and keeps winning these lucky draw prizes? ;) (I've only ever been lucky enough to win one)
...I wonder if their luck works on the Powerball

Since it does not have any chrome colouring, it looks like something you can actually play with (thought I wouldn't dare :p).

Now I'm thinking it's Malach Ra's, since I know he has a Universe Drench and collects Lucky Draw toys. His collection is insane.

Meh... I personally don't see the appeal in buying lucky draw prizes. I mean, aside from their rarity, what makes them so special? I can understand the few that have some canonical significance/meaning, like Unicron of Light or G1 Primus, or even if they were a new character like a lot of eHobby exclusives are, but most of them look like complete random or otherwise meaningless repaints... almost as if Takara just spun some "Wheel O' Colour" -- tak-tak-tak-tak-tak-tak-tak... black! Makes me wonder if all of Hasbro's random Bumblebee repaints would be highly sought after and valued by collectors if Hasbro made them über-rare draw prizes instead of flooding them in the regular retail market. ;)
Also for me personally - and this is only my opinion - the core appeal of having any lucky draw prizes is as a souvenir/memento of winning a lucky draw. Buying one feels like "cheating" to me. <---JMHO

+2 for wanting Big Blue Convoy. The bot in red chrome looks interesting, though I don't recognize it. It may not even be from Transformers.

It's not a Transformer - that's a lucky draw Dai Gandar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daigunder), another Takara toyline. :)

Sigh...
I'd love to eventually get my hands on a complete set of Blendtrons myself, though there is something in amongst those pictures that I have literally just acquired (Thanks to a fellow member's aid & generosity ;):)) that is a holy grail of mine... :D

Yeah, in hindsight I wouldn't mind getting Elphaorpha, since he doesn't appear to suffer from GPS like Torca! :( Although the Blentrons were regular store release toys... but I skipped them because I already had their Fuzor counterparts (and Torca was still undamaged). I was too busy focusing on the new moulds that BW Neo was giving us at the time... and Metals Ravage. :)

The rarity is probably the main (lucky) drawcard, for me anyway.:)
I would love to buy that green Unicron if it was a standard release but knowing there's only 10 makes me want it more.i mean, i don't know anyone that has a grail that's really common.
I think bumblebee repaints would certainly be highly sought after if they were limited to 10 or 50 (probably not by me though)
I can understand buying lucky draws as cheating a bit, but unless they were won through some kind of effort, like writing a story or drawing something for the comp or whatever, i don't really see the problem with buying or selling something gained purely by chance. I would have no attachment to a figure gained that way.
(back to that collection^)Funny thing is, after seeing all those rare, near unattainable
figures, the one that stands out most for me is Trailbreaker. Am i missing something?. Is Trailbreaker right up there on the super-rare list?:p

My current grails are the upcoming TF Prime Vehicons (car and jet), Deluxe Knock Out and Hasbro MP10 Optimus Prime. :) Neither of them are limited exclusives... they're just elusive to me atm because they're not out yet.

The attachment comes from the novelty of having won a lucky draw prize - even if it's by luck. It's like a souvenir/memento of having won a competition - whether if it was by merit or luck. And I've won toys by both ways (http://otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=13269). Either way, you receive these toys as free prizes... no matter how odd/random the repaint may seem, it's not as if you paid any money for it. What I find curious is why some people would pay for a random repaint when it's rare, when they wouldn't pay for a random repaint when it's common. If Takara wants to give me a lucky draw prize for free, okay I'll take it. If someone wants to give me a random Bumblebee repaint for free, okay I'll take it. But I wouldn't pay for either one.

When Takara does fundamentally the exact same thing, but makes it a limited exclusive -- and especially as a draw prize that can only be won through luck -- suddenly the toy is highly sought after and people will pay a small ransom for just one. The concept is the same... the only difference is rarity.
I think bumblebee repaints would certainly be highly sought after if they were limited to 10 or 50 (probably not by me though)
Funny thing you guys should mention that. As I recall that's exactly what happened with this mysterious repaint (http://www.collecticon.org/2010/04/transformers-classics-blue-bumblebee-now-on-ebay/) that popped up on eBay a few years ago. :) I do remember seeing one listing (one of the final ones), going for a solid $500.

I guess some people (myself partially included but not to the same extent as some) like the idea of having something unique or close to it. Like misprinted stamps or cars produced in limited numbers, certain people will always pay more for them. Don't get me me wrong, I'm not out there, running around trying to buy every bit of limited gold vacuum metalized plastic., but if it is something i like and it's rare, i would be prepared to pay more for it.:)

So it sounds like some people are interested in the novelty of having something rare just for rarity's sake. I can understand this desire, but I don't know about throwing bucketloads of money at something that, really, I'd only be interested in purely for novelty's sake rather than the "intrinsic value" (for lack of a better word) of that toy.

Same here, only that I'm not prepared to pay more. Then again, I'm not prepared to pay more for anything really. ;) Common or rare, if I like a toy and I can find it at (or close to) its original/retail price, then I'll get it. If I can't, then I'll skip it. The "original price" of a lucky draw toy is 0JPY (0AUD), so I'd be willing to pay x∞ that price ($0 x ∞ :p), but no more than that. :D
