I was in PZ yesterday and they didn't have it... must've come in today I guess. Will have to check tomorrow too. :)

Oh wow, didn't realise Hasbro had re-obtained the rights to the name Bluestreak. That's awesome :D Although Silverstreak was always a fair compromise IMO. Sure beats call him Tankorstreak. :p

There have been Hasbro Bluestreak toys since 2010, but since there was a 26 year break, it still surprises people that it was reacquired some time ago. (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=13660)

Bluestreak was re-acquired a couple years ago, with the first *Hasbro* Bluestreak Transformers toy being the RPMs/Speedstars car in 2010 (http://www.tfu.info/2010/Autobot/SpeedStarsBluestreak/bluestreak.htm). There is also a Stealthforce Bluestreak and a Bluestreak Kreon (http://www.tfu.info/2011/Autobot/Kre-OBluestreak/bluestreak.htm) as well... but aside from those three and this new Generations toy, the one in 1984 (http://www.tfu.info/1984/Autobot/Bluestreak/bluestreak.htm) was the only "Bluestreak" toy called "Bluestreak" by Hasbro.

Heh, I know the feeling. :) Our hotel in Osaka had a communal bin near the lifts; when we left it was overflowing with discarded Transformers packaging. ;) I kept the cardbacks and flattened the few boxes that I decided to keep. Also cut out box art of the boxes that I chucked.

Before anyone asks, as a general rule I can't/don't do hunts - as a public servant in Japan my job forbids me from making money on the side (Hursty has been kind enough to score me a FOC G2 Bruticus by way of trade), and as someone with a full-time teaching job I can't regularly and reliably go hunting and deal with postage and handling etc. anyway. Sorry peeps, but while I'm on my current job I have to keep it to Invite Only.:(
On the upside, I am picking up the odd bargain JP exclusive here and there, and if/when I have a job that does allow me to have side-projects there'll be a few nice Japanese exclusive goodies popping up in the sales section. Also on the upside, anyone planning a trip to Osaka is welcome to PM me for a meet, and if they're chasing anything that's currently out in Japan I'm happy to pick them up and hold onto them until said meet.:)

Anyway, today's score was AA Axor, $20 from Empire Toys. I got him just as much for the novelty value of a reasonably priced find from Empire as for the toy itself.

King Atlas: I agree, it is a sweet set of toys. :) I have Tripredacus and that's enough for me... but I can understand the desire to have other versions too. :D Would you be able to take side by side comparison shots of Tripredacus & Tripledacus and post them in the appropriate section of the board? (if you wouldn't mind) -- if not, then I might ask Hursti to bring his Jointrons along to the next fan meet and I can bring Tripredacus to do it... but it'd be more of a hassle for the two of us to coordinate and do it. Just asking. :)

I don't recall this set being hard to find in 1998... but admittedly I wasn't really focused on them. Heh... I've always found it amusing that Gimlet looks like a cooked version of Sea Clamp :D :D

+1. They're fantastic Loophole, worthwhile treating them both with frames of their own. I framed some movie prints a while ago and framing can get pricey, but worthwhile getting it done by professionals for an end result that will last decades. Those pieces deserve it!

Frame them separately. You have better options when it comes to hanging arrangement when these are framed separately.

Great haul dude! Always good to hear of someone getting their hands on one of their grails. Looks like a good one too!:)

Cheers dude :D, indeed it is & the added benefit too is that this version isn't hindered by the fragility that Hasbro's release is in that most of that version's pegs are made with translucent plastic.:(

A very neat feature is that it comes with a folded up two sided poster of all the United Figures. Should one decide to frame it, it should be a double sided glass frame as the poster is back to back - shame about the folds though.

from your pics Gok it looks like a scout sized figure honestly...only the packaging is big.... which does not help highlight that it is small....

GoktimusPrime

When I purchased the figure, the lady who was serving me looked at the toy itself, then instinctively pulled out a small-sized bag which couldn't fit the Deluxe size card and bubble. Then she was like, "Silly me, what am I doing?" and reached for a larger bag -- I told her that it was an understandable thing to do judging from how small the toy is, and yet it's in a packaging size that's much larger than it needs to be!

I haven't opened this toy yet, but I'll take some comparison shots when I do.

I must clarify that he is in in no way broken, the description on the yellow return sticker was 'hard to turn in back to robot'.

$30 may be the upper end of RRP, but it's still well within the RRP range for AU retail. Of course I would have preferred to pay less, and I have searched for ages zipping across various stores in different suburbs ... so in the end I paid $5 for Shockwave just to save me time and fuel costs of continually searching for this toy! (but knowing my luck I'm now gonna find it pegwarming everywhere for $25 )

Now I debate with myself if I can open a $320NZ Transformer or wait for the G2 version at 1/3 the cost

It's a non window box is it Zippo? Well, you do have two, open one for loose play/display (the non pristine one) and keep this one sealed.:) Hmm so the set really is that quite pricy....we saw one at the Parra fair being sold for AU$350 and we all just gazed at it from afar.....

Just noticed FOC Jazz can't get a break... he gets bullied by wheelie at the fair and in this he's squooshed, tsktsktsk . Im definitely rechristening him as Searchlight in liegeverse.

Biggest TF day for me for while:
From Emmai:
- BT Grimlock
- Animated Longarm/Shckwave (to display as Longarm)
- WFC Soundwave.

From ebay:
- parts to mostly complete the UM trailer I nabbed from the Penrif fir a few weeks back. Chest piece, UM head and waist plate (doesnt want to stay attached!) and gun. Now only need shoulder missiles and the lower leg ramps.
- Perceptor scope.

You shouldn't be paying that much for MISB Magnus/Skywarp, he's usually been around the $250 mark, see here (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EXPERTLY-PACKED-TRANSFORMERS-ULTRA-MAGNUS-SKYWARP-MISB-CLASSICS-CASE-FRESH-MINT-/380461777896?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58954a03e8#ht_2716wt_1037) and here (http://www.ehobbybaseshop.com/?sp=&p=6&cat2=72&cat1=6&cat0=3&id=524&cat1=6&cat0=3&new=&more=&lang=en) :)

This is just a guess, until the more fluent-speaking/reading people translate it for you...

The top bit could be - kaifu mishiyo (opened seal, never used)
While the bottom bit could be - hako itami (box damage)

Is that true? Is the box damaged, and has the seal been cut but the toys weren't removed from packaging?
If that's completely wrong, I need to keep learning, and just leave it to the experts... :o

That's Convobat!! He came in a versus set with Megalligator (the purple croc) and they also came with a CD ROM. The set was only sold in Japan. Convobat is G1 Optimus Prime reformatted as a Maximal and Megalligator is G1 Megatron reformatted as a Predacon.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y227/goktimusprime/Transformers/misc%20photo%20skits/spiltmilk.jpghttp://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y227/goktimusprime/Transformers/Collection%202012/collection2012_beastwars_aa.jpg
As you can see it's a repaint of the original Basic Optimus Primal vs Megatron set; but their tech specs explicitly state that they are G1 counterparts (and haven't been retconned as otherwise, unlike the original pair)

Others you have are:
+ RiD Skyfire (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Skyfire_%28RID%29)

+ MW Thundercracker (http://www.tfu.info/1997/Decepticon/Thundercracker/thundercracker.htm) (w/ the ridiculous function of "Rebel Warrior")

+ MW Megatron (http://www.tfu.info/1997/Decepticon/Megatron/megatron.htm)
+ Robotmasters Wrecker Hook (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Wrecker_Hook_%28RM%29)

+ RM Air Hunter (http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Air_Hunter)
+ RM Mirage (http://www.tfu.info/2004/Cybertron/Ligier/ligier.htm) (aka Rijie or Ligier)

He was about $11 shipped from the UK; good condition, some sticker wear, but no weapons hence the cheap price. It's also the 1988 release so I'm still after an 86 one with diecast, when I get one I'll prob sell this one.

How is it like fatbot? does it feel like a glorified PCC or not?

It's much better then PCC. my problems with them are the fact that Swindle is longer then Brawl, giving Bruticus a lopsided stance, Blast off is longer then Vortex, making it look like he has a stunted arm & the plastic feels like it's KO quality.

It sounds like I hate it.not true, I do like the combined mode, I do like the individual modes, it's those three things that irk me.

he is nice & sturdy, it's been in my bag all day after I brought him home from work this morning with any problems. you do need to play with swindle to get him to stand though. Another gripe is that the cannons on his back need to be removed to make his gun which ruins the aesthetic

Fusilateral Quasimodo-combiner! :p

Got my FOC Bruticus in the mail and I think it's honestly a lot better than it's been getting credit for - as long as one only compares it to Combiners of Hasbro's own making.

I have my Blast-Off in an alternate config that makes him work much better as an arm, and Onslaught's arms placed a little differently to bulk up the shoulders. Ideally, Blastoff works better as a leg and Swindle makes a good arm. Incidentally, the instructions don't mention the alternate arm/leg configs at all - is it meant to be a hidden feature???

Individual bots are hit and miss - the alt-modes are all ok except for Onslaught (although this colour scheme does a much better job at hiding things than the SDCC version), but the bot modes are a little lacking. They're all great 'shelf' TF's, as in, they're fine until you pick them up and try to work with the weird arm joints that most of them have.

The colours are very garish, especially on Vortex, but I intend to do something about that very soon.

But he's a fun figure overall and a step in the right direction after ROTF Bruticus and the PCC line.

Not really a hidden feature, but they will be releasing this guy as a Wreckers combiner soon with remoulded heads to combine into Emirate Xaaron (4th Hasbro release). The press photos shows Xaaron with a new combiner head and with arms and legs switched around.

I've been pretty busy and have only been able to float in and out of the forum, but Abundance is the perfect word for this August, there have been some great pickups!

Mine for the last few weeks:

Picked up HA Roadbuster from Catch of the Day. Sure he only cast $26 posted but they only wrapped him in a post bag, without any protection. If anyone else cathes this bargain it's something to be wary of. Being the size and shape of a football I think was too tempting for some Aust. Post worker as he came in pretty dinged up.

Really happy with Clampdown and Deep cover though, Love my Jap reissues :D

Yeah, but still weird that it doesn't at least mention it in the instructions. Thinking about it from the point of view of some kid putting these together, the extra hands hidden away on Brawl and Swindle are just plain creepy! :p
