Interesting...apparently there've been Hasbro trademark applications for a new cartoon and series by the name of "Beast Hunters" (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/beast-machines-3/beast-hunters-plans-for-a-possible-new-beast-warsmachines-cartoon-toyline-175905/).

As much as I want this to be beast wars related I'm thinking it might have something to do with battle beasts. Maybe takara and hasbro are going to do more with them than just reissue the figures. With the apparent success of prime and a new movie in 2014 I can't see them going back to a cartoon and toy line like beast wars

I am also thinking that this is not a BW cartoon or Transformers for that matter. It's either Battle Beasts as swoop said or something else entirely.

Interesting turn of events. I'm puzzled by the trademark application grounds:
BEAST HUNTERS: entertainment services, namely, an on-oing animated television series for children
BEAST HUNTERS: toy action figures, toy vehicles and toy robots convertible into other visual toy forms
From what I thought I knew of Battle Beasts/Beastformers, I was confident that they didn't transform, yet that second point seems to indicate that whatever these will be are Transformers or at least transform in some way.
But perhaps the most odd is the new TV series. As far as I know (as I don't watch it) TF: Prime seems to be going rather well, so whether this is just future-proofing a succession plan so there is no drop off between shows or something...
Either way, it's gives me something to keep my ears pricked up until we hear more details.

there is some talk that it might just be Prime season 3 with a new sub-line name or something.

I hear "Beast Hunters" and think "Beast Machines" since that was all about Megatron and his Vehicons hunting beasts, but then...

That kind of makes sense... You know all those Arms Micron weapons that turn in to animals? Guess what Hasbro might start selling next year.?

They will be able to repaint thundertron. Maybe the whole line is thundertron in 20 different colour variations, just like movie Bumblebee

either way it will be toys we won't see here unless we import ;D

More than likely Beast Saga, Decepticon Arms Micron or a Sub-line with figures in the same style as Thundertron.
Hope I'm wrong though. More BW love please :D

Perhaps the sheer amount of interest in the announcement will prompt them to consider releasing another couple of Classic/Henkei style BW figures.
TFW2005 is up to 28 pages of discussion and speculation about it already!
Come on Hasbro/Takara, a few consolatory crumbs for us, please!

Maybe it'll be a proper sequel to Beast Wars that ignores Beast Machines (and won't dead-end the G1 continuity family like BM did!) <#fanboy.pipedream>

I'd agree with whomever said it was Battle Beasts. In September Taktom are going to be releasing their Beast Saga figures and toys (I think). And a cartoon. I picked up a little mini mag from some random encounter about it and that has all the excitement slated for about nowish.
It looks like you can change their alignment now.
Although I wouldn't mid seeing an update of Beast Wars myself. :D

That won't happen :-( That doesn't fit with the new aligned continuity. If there is a new age of beast, it will be in the distant future of TFPrime OR it will be a few new additions to Team Prime and the decepticons.

Agreed. At the end of the day, this is what really matters the most -- awesome toys. :D

Not a huge fan of beast toys BUT I could be turned to the dark side if the toys are great

Sounds like it's just a fancy name for TF: Prime Season 3.
Well, there goes any interest from me

Considering we already have one "beastformer" coming out, there is a good chance.

I hear "Beast Hunters" and think "Beast Machines"
Beast Hunters was the working title for Beast Machines, with at least one promo image released with that title... so it could just be someone at Hasbro wanted to finally use the name on something.
At the last BotCon, Hasbro said that they were already planning out the fourth season of TFPrime (and had written most of Season 3), so I can't imagine there would be a second series being produced at the same time.... or we'd have heard something about it by now if they were already registering it as trademarks.
It should also be pointed out that, Hasbro always semi-rebrand their mainline series with subtitles every year or two, so it would be unlikely that TFPrime will go into a third year without a subtitle.

Well, all I'm going to say is that I'm glad I didn't get my hopes up & I'm going to continue to do so. :o
Looking forward to seeing whatever this actually ends up yielding though. ;)
