From TFW2005: TT to do game-accurate FoC Bruticus colours. (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/japanese-transformers-40/new-takara-tomy-releases-announced-fall-of-cybertron-bruticus-encore-yellow-devastator-and-more-175901/) No word yet on shiny bits.
Good news for those who missed out on the SDCC set.

I'll be passing in favour of the G2 version myself.

The link also features news about a yellow Encore Devastator reissue, possibly with a new hat head.

Can you imagine the backlash if Tomy released Bruticus in the same colours as the SDCC version  It would be the Botcon Seekers all over again :p

If that did ever happen, I would sell my G2 FOC Bruticus in a heart-beat.

Looks like I'm selling my G2 Bruticus :p I'll take expressions of interest for it when it arrives in Nov. Man, I feel sorry for anyone that forked-out for the SDCC version.

At least the SDCC people ended up with a nice box.

Also a very exspensive box.

I too will be sticking with the G2 version. After watching the reviews of the SDCC one the colours seem really boring, which some reviewers have commented on. G2 at least will throw a little colour around.

And what's old mate at Parra Fair gonna do now?:p

I lost that many auctions for the sdcc bruticus that I'm not even bothering with it until next year. This will keep me happy until I get it. I'm still waiting for a g1 colored version to be announced, we all know it's coming

This is great news! Personally I'll wait till I get my G2 version to decide whether I like the mold enough to get a second set.

I've been lucky enough to have a mate working in the states with a US credit Card who has agreed to by my plastic crack mule. I was able to order both the bruticus and cliffjumper off the hasbro Toy store for the instant it turned up and have them shipped to his place.

Now I just play the waiting game to see when this stuff actually arrives here for me. might be a while.

So I'll not be paying above comparative Aussie retail when you take the cost of shipping into account.

luckily my fancy box didn't turn out to be too expensive.
I really fell for all those people who bought the highly inflated prices from eBay.

I've got the G2 pre-ordered. I usually don't buy recolours of figures but I thought I may still get Swindle, Onslaught and Brawl as they are at least similar to their G1 colours (Purple Blast off and Brown & Red Vortex?!?!) but if they release the game accurate colours who knows, maybe I'll get the lot! Then I can have Bruticus set up and the individual combaticons as well

Yeah, I can't believe some of the prices on eBay especially when there is a retail version available.

Looks like pre-orders (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/list.aspx?list=10569) are up on BBTS, with cheapest shipping option being just less than $250 for the whole set.

They're clearly trying to cash-in on the fact that collectors will be clamouring for these as an alternative to the SDCC set. There is no other way to explain that price.

It's true that getting a single order from BBTS is expensive, but just for reference I have just shipped an order from BBT costing $1,370. $1,214 is the cost of all the yummy toys (green giant being one I am really looking forward to) and $156 being the shipping cost. So if your willing to wait and get a bbiaf pile of loot or just group order then it becomes much cheaper.

RobotKingdom (http://www.robotkingdom.com/services/eshop/main.php?action=details&CatType=&II=TTTFCBRU&lang=us&CatID=) has got ahold of the pre-orders now, will cost $156 for the single order with the cheapest shipping option, insured.

Corrected via kup's next post :)

That's the Asia Exclusive Energon repaint, not the Takara-Tomy Fall of Cybertron Bruticus release.

So what's going on with that? I thought that this toy was a Hasbro Asia exclusive and not Tomy's. So they are releasing two simultaneous Bruticus sets now? (Energon and FOC)

If they are trying to cash in on the popularity of the FP Crossfire set with that then they are very late for the party as all are sold out. Not much of a market if the only way to get the upgrades is on inflated price after market.

You can see the Tomy FOC Bruticus toys for pre-order here:

http://www.robotkingdom.com/services/eshop/main.php?action=list&CatType=Category&CatID=119&lang=us

They are $31 ($155 total) before shipping so not cheap.

Thanks for the correction! :) (Sorry everyone! Maybe it wasn't a good idea for me to be posting at an ungodly hour :o)

The branding is quite confusing - both Henkei UM and Energon/ROTF repaint Bruticus both has TakTom's logo on it, whilst both excluding Japan. UM being exclusively Chinese (like Reissue Sixshot; and albeit having Japanese written on the box art), and Bruticus being exclusively Asian. Perhaps both reissues are wearing the TakTom label to reflect greater perceived quality, and so, greater price justification? Kind of the opposite of what happened to Hasbro HK's DOTM Que/Wheeljack, though there was no blatant profiteering in that response to their market.

It is odd, the logic seems reversed.
* No reissues for FP Munitioner/Explorer, whilst the target market is not limited to China.
* Henkei UM is aimed only at China, but FP City Commander was recently reissued officially from FP, and unofficially through their KO-er's. Also interesting to note that there has never been a KO of UM.

To hazard a guess, Hasbro Asia has seen there's a niche market for these pieces and has decided to take advantage of it, probably with suitably exclusive prices to boot.
Personally I'm quite glad about it, even at the inflated 'exclusive' costs it's cheaper than the secondary market (if you can find the pieces there at all), so pretty much everybody wins (sort of) except those looking to charge ridiculous prices on the secondary market.
As for the add-on sets themselves, well...
* No reissues for FP Munitioner/Explorer, whilst the target market is not limited to China.
* Henkei UM is aimed only at China, but FP City Commander was recently reissued officially from FP, and unofficially through their KO-er's....FP (and the other 3rd Party Producers) aren't under the official HasTakTom umbrella (and are officially frowned upon to boot, to the point of being banned at Botcon), and thus Hasbro Asia can't really commission extra runs of their complementary items.
It's up to FP if they want/are able to do more runs of Explorer/Munitioner/City Commander, though I imagine there'd be no lack of demand if they did.
As far as 'aimed only at China' goes, yes and no...while China is a pretty large and growing market, I'd be very surprised if the powers-that-be at Hasbro Asia were unaware of much of the fandom's willingness to import exclusive/hard-to-find TFs at heftier prices. Perhaps it's more like 'released in China, aimed at whoever is willing to buy them'.;)
It's not like Hasbro sells directly to us after all, they sell to suppliers who then sell them on to us. They still get paid whether those suppliers are BBTS or Toys R Us.
Also interesting to note that there has never been a KO of UM.Umm, yes there has (http://plasticaddiction.tumblr.com/post/5421740087/transformers-ko-classic-ultra-magnus-figure-review).:(
I picked one up last year thinking it was genuine. Happily it turns out the wheels can be used to mod Generations Springer into a triple-changer (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-feedback/630096-generations-gdo-deluxe-springer-12.html#post8113177), so it wasn't a total waste.

Drat, now I do feel bad that I ordered 2 of the SDCC Bruticus. One was going to be opened but once I had it in hand I couldn't justify it since of the rather large sum of $ that it cost to aquire.

Hope for offical (non 'shopped') picture soon so I can decide my opening plans for Bruticus and his many repaints.
