Ready for its release next month, the next of the Japanese Masterpiece toys has been shown off at the Yamashiroya toy store in Japan (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/mp12-lambor-on-display-at-yamashiroya-toy-store/25886/)... in both modes, with packaging, and with images of the design process and some artwork from the original series bible to justify its scale/size.

and with that, I've been swayed. I was considering holding off, but the chance that Hasbro won't be able to get the Lamborghini license, and the super sexy box, has swayed me. I'll be ordering mine at lunchtime today.

Isn't the Lamborghini logo on the box because they supervised / supplied the paint job? To release it here, Hasbro could do their own paint job which they probably would anyway. I doubt that Lamborghini still have the IP rights to the design considering it's 30+ years old. I guess we’ll just see if / when it does come out here at retail.

I thought it had the logo because it was an officially licenced Lamborghini product. Has anything been said about Hasbro not being able to get the Lamborghini licence?

Yeah, the smallness sucks - but we all knew that. I just bit the bullet and pre-ordered it to get the earlybird discount. If I'm gonna get a puny overpriced MP, I might as well get it below RRP. Still feels like I'm paying too much though (*sigh*)

I thought the license was also for the car body, it's pretty much a scale replica as far as I can tell. One of the podcasts I listen to interviewed someone from Hasbro and there was no solid confirmation that they were going to get it, they did mention that they'd have to get a lamborghini license themselves before they could sell it as Takara had organised the license themselves.

there's no confirmation that it's not coming out here, but there's also no confirmation that it is...

I won't complain about the smallness as it means I can order two for the price of less than one 'regular' Masterpiece. And the fact that they thought about the scale makes me like even more.

Now we just need an in-scale Megatron ..
