Got this guy today. Bit rough around the edges and his hand has been swapped out (i think he's meant to have a missile firing hand) But still, good to have a jumbo version of the mini that started it all:)

@Ispayks & VGM: COOL!!!
That's an awesome looking Mecha there Ispayks, very classic looking and whom would seem to share facial cues with that of Voltron!:cool:
VGM, you've gotta post more photos of that Zord dude! - He's one that I'd very much like to obtain myself (Probably the Western version though ;)) as it was with him that my Power Rangers interest ended as a kid. :D

Sure thing Hursticon. Here you go! I have always wanted this one, but held out till I found a decent version of him without any missing parts. Lucky I found this one.
Here are some more pics. Also in the last picture the one on the left is my own creation as I don't like the official transformation.

Thanks VGM, man he is so sweet looking; I've always liked him because he has reminded me for years of another gestalt/combining Mech from another toyline that had a very similar scheme - i.e. several Humanoid robots that essentially "Tucked themselves in" to form the various limbs...
Have never seen said figure again and was way too young to know its name either, that custom mistransformed bloke of yours looks interesting too!

Cheers Hursti.. They're not too bad actually. I picked up the little shoguns from Redstarrobot on sale (cheaper than i found similar items in Singapore) Boxed one was $59au and the loose one was $25, I bought a little red-puncher for the GF for 5 bucks too:D.. Gaiking was a bit more (190,.cough.. euro.,.cough)but postage from the Eurozone was the real killer:( I don't want to talk about it:o:p
I'm trying not to get caught up in bidding wars these days
The other 2 in the photo Dragun (red guy) loose, was under 100. Goldorak or Grendizer (i think he answers to both names) was closer to 200 (loose) but you can see he is wearing someone else's arm (I think it's Gaiking's but i have a batch of arm attachments/replacements on their way) He always seems to be more expensive than the others, in any size.
I got Raiden and Mazinger boxed for 120 and 100 respectively.. locally too which was nice .
I'm pretty sure these 5 are the more common ones.

Nice . I'd love to see some pictures... i'm a big fan of the Soul of chogokin stuff.
Does the word Volt have a meaning in another language .
I mean Voltes and Voltron look like they do pretty much the same thing so i thought it might mean combine or join or something.

i've done my research and that button on top needs to come off to get the wrist out for repair. apparently it can't be done without breaking it off.
i'm going to try some hot water first. if thats no good, out with the pliers.

I've had mine since the late 70s, and it's still standing proud on top of my book case. Mine has exactly the same problem with the launching fist mechanism. The flaming tongue lever on mine is also broken (by a friend in the early 80s). And that's why I keep my toys MISB these days. :D

I managed to fix it. Hot water from the kettle to get the mechanism out from the arm, Araldite and superglue to rebuild the latching mechanism. (i had to do it twice due to impatience) cut the spring down to take some pressure off it. Dremel the button off. more hot water onto the arm and force it back in (it won't go back in with the button sitting so proud). glue button back on.. all good:)

In the final episode of Mazinger Z, Kabuto Koji (the pilot) defeated the final enemy of the series. However, a new enemy group appeared and pretty much destroyed Mazinger Z.
However, Koji's dad (who Koji thought was dead), had known about this enemy and built Great Mazinger to battle them. So they meet each other in the last ep of Mazinger Z.
In Great Mazinger, Mazinger Z is rebuilt and appears in the final story arc of the series. The pilot himself Koji was in America studying and returns to help out with Mazinger Z. So the two mecha appear with each other a fair bit.
In the Super Robot War series of games, they were side-by-side almost all the time. LOL

He is worth $450-900. He is a jumbo,
My brother has a dx toy of him which opens the chest.
Lately hlj listed giant gorg toy by sentinel for 40,000 yen.
Needless to say I can't afford it.
You got a number of jumbos.
I still haven't had the chance to grab my mazinger and great mazinger from Singapore and sell them.
