Date and location details of the next Official Transformers convention appear to be some way off, as they are only announcing the theme in issue 48 of the Club Magazine (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/tfcc-news-fall-membership-drive-begins-this-week-and-botcon-2013-story-announcement-coming-soon/25970/) (which wont be released until December). Apparently issue 47 was just released last week, so it will be another two months until it is officially announced, but they are going to give some hints at the NYCC this week.
If they are only announcing the theme in December, the location and dates aren't likely to be announced until some time after the new year... which is disappointing. (if fan-run conventions can announce locations, dates and guests a whole year in advance, why can't the professional/official convention organisers?)
I guess they will just be hyping up the exclusive toys in the fortnight before registration again, and not worry about generating any hype for the actual event.... to inspire us to want to go, or be able to plan ahead for the long-distance travel.
Too much of their resources are now driving their toy business (over 50 toys now per year being produced and sold by FunPub), leaving little to plan and promote (build momentum) as a reason why fans would want to go to a "fan" convention.
