I saw the link (http://www.toyark.com/news/san-diego-comic-con-58/nycc12-angry-birds-star-wars-6590/) and thought it was just a display of the two brands, but no, Hasbro have merged the two (which would have been approved by George Lucas).
Words can not express my feelings towards this... and I fear that since this is by Hasbro, anything could end up happening with Transformers when it starts waning. (it goes through phases of ups and lows)

It has one wondering if it is better to keep a franchise going at any cost (by diluting it with something bizarre or unrelated), or to just let it end with dignity, and come back after a break with its credibility intact?

There's an interesting game element to these "Angry Birds Star Wars", but like the recent Fighter Pods game, this could have been done as an original concept without making the classic Star Wars characters look like poultry.

i dunno my boy loves star wars and angry birds so it could be a win, remember they are toys and they are out to make money so it could be a big money spinner for them

Look awesome, 'specially the palace and death star. Pig battle stations looks like a good idea.

Yes, I saw the toys at Target the other day. The pigs and birds are a tad smaller than what I would like, but they still look awesome.
The game rocks.
