Picked up from the comic shop: The Ark II, All Hail Megatron #1 and the UK Movie Prequel #1.

The Ark II is a nice companion to the The Ark book, and it's good having those drawings at a larger scale than in Generations. All Hail Megatron is a very visual comic, in other words a very quick read. I'd already read the UK stories but it's nice to get a new Geoff Senior TF story in print.

All Hail Megatron is indeed an incredibly quick read, and is like season 1 and 2 of Lost, so many many questions, with not a single answer revealed. It's going to be an interesting 12 months, with AHM ploughing forward, and the SPotlights, Maximum Dinobots and other Furman penned stories filling in the gaps.

Picked up the new Universe Legends Starscream last night from Kmart! I got it 20% off, cos the sign they had up read "20% off Transformers", which was actually incorrect... it should have been "selected"! ;)

Anyways, I asked the guy and he said they'd have to do it :D I only wish they'd had other TFs there that weren't already on special, so I could get them cheaper!

Nice! I can't even find the 20% sign at mine. And you're right, it doesn't scan up. I'm not fussed though. It's not like these are gonna be HTF or anyone's gonna be devastated if they miss them.

His robot mode is pretty nice looking, but his other 2 modes are a bit disappointing to be honest. Just doesn't seem to have enough clips here and there to snap everything together.. or there are clips that just don't hold well enough. It's disappointing cause the faults are nothing that couldn't have been fixed with a bit more thought.

Have to agree on the review of Blitzwing, he's good but not excellent. Luckily his buddy Lugnut makes up for all the little problems of Blitzwing.

From what I can tell it is a reissue as the originals have back flaps on their boxes. I think there was KO's floating around of G1 Ultra as well but I don't know how to tell the difference between them and reissues as both mine are original:o.

They cost me $30.95 each (w/postage) I know I could have gotten them from the Big W sale, but calculating the petrol I have to spend to drive to different Big W's to look for them, I might as well just pay that extra bit. They mistakenly sent Black Ironhide so I notified them and Offroad Ironhide is on its way. I'm supposed to return Black Ironhide to them. If anyone of you here wants it, let me know and maybe I can buy it over from them.

# Compared to Classics 1.0 deluxes, their transformation seems much, much more fiddly.

# In car-mode, Sunstreaker seems to have Animated Bumblez "2 shades of yellow" issue but in bot-mode, it's much less noticeable :).

# One word to describe them = Awesome! :D




I guess these 3 new guys will definitely be coming along to the Syd Meet next Sunday... :)

Grimlock and Swoop, the most amazing customs I have ever seen. Swoop's transformation, detail and articulation is simply astounding.

Grimlock as a figure stands larger than MP and proportionate to the cartoon depiction of his size to Prime. I am soo happy to have these in my collection. 1 more MP dinobots to go. Snarl.... Will keep a look out for it.

After nearly five months of phone calls and letter writing to various government departments, I walked out of SA Customs Port Adelaide today with a Masterpiece Megatron. This was seized back in February and it seemed highly unlikely that I would be able to get it, so I am glad the money wasn't wasted. Woohoo! The customs firearms official said I was the only person in SA (that she is aware of anyway) that has managed to get a B709A for importing a Megatron since the change in the law regarding repicas. I was pretty wrapped and took a 'victory photo' outside customs. And if this long haired scallywag can get SAPOL to give him a B709A, surely anyone else can. :D The precedent has been set. No license, no security requirements, just take home and display.

I have copies of all the letters and replies with dates so it shouldn't be too hard to piece it all together for people to read.

Today as I was wondering around I remembered some people on the board showing pics of T-shirts from Jay Jays so I stuck my head in and picked up 2 TF shirts for $25 total:D. Almost forgot that i added onto my lay-by at Toyworld the 2 Animated Leaders Megatron and Bulkhead, I had these put to the side and was still up in the air about buying them but after some discussions on price matching I managed to get them for $80 each, not a good price but at least it was a reduction of $10 each figure so I wont complain:D.

Thank you. I have an interesting taste and like minded with the TF fans, I am constantly chasing G1 MP are out there and not just from Takara.

Believe it or not, this one is made from Scractchbuild with Styrene and a metal base. I actually came across the customiser who built this a while ago and I approached him in acquiring it. He then improved on it before he sold it to me. If you come across Wikkid as a customiser, you will see that his work is simply amazing.

For the ace customisers, generally they dont like to do commission work as they dont like being dictated how to do things, so its kind of keep a close relationship with them and when they got something new, they let you know and hopefully you have an opportunity to acquire.

I have seen customisers do commissions and they are less the masters and usually do repaints and stuff.

:)Had a wonder around Target today looking for MP-04 so I could see what the box actually looked like but still none locally:rolleyes:. Looked at the animated figures and picked up the only figure I haven't got on lay-by, Ratchet:D. Went to lock his hips in place and instead pushed them well past the locking clip:o, he's not broken thank goodness:D.

First up, couldnt help myself and wanted to get a taste of the Universe Classic 2.0 Ultra class. Big figures, worthy of their G1 resemblence.

Short review:

Bot mode Silverbolt, true to G1 and very detailed face. One of the best I have seen in recent bots. Transformation way too simple in 3 easy steps but a nice bot overall.

Bot mode Powerglide, much tighter joints, and more difficult level transformation. True to G1, and very detailed figure. At least its a new mold. Sure henkei is more true to the G1 colours but Hasbro has done well with this figure. Though something I am not sure about, if you lift up the chest, you see a heart symbol.. Is that kinda... ermm..... Just coz Powerglide fell in love in the animation, does that give him a heart?

Both figures are larger than the movie figures and are more scaled with Cybertron voyager class figures. Good price and good figures overall.

Here's hoping it happens again on an ( crosses fingers and breathes hard) Encore Fort Max... yeah I'm dreaming.

use the macro setting on your camera.. you know the little flower thing?
makes close up shots clearer

It took me a while to figure it out because I am not used to cameras (only recently bought my first one) but what i do is set it to the flower thing and manually turn on the flash. Then I push the button half way down until it focuses (took me a fair while to figure that one out :)) and then push it all the way down to take the photo.

Yeah, but you often get shadowing from the camera or lens, depending on where the flash is.

Try putting your figure under your study/table lamp guys, then use the macro function, figures looks really grand and realistic. Otherwise putting them under any good lighting will work too. Flash doesn't always work... :p

Oooh! I had a look at that awhile ago too but was annoyed they didn't have the tech spec card for Vector Prime so I skipped. It's a great deal tho considerin' the two ur keeping are close to $70 each excl. shipping.

Yeah that's what I thought, they kinda costly by themselves and I've been searching for GD-3 for a long time, so I'm glad I went ahead with it. Though it might make the deluxes seem a little more expensive. :)

:)That's an understatement, I've chased Shockwave on and off for a few years but have always been pipped at the post:(, but not this time:D. I have actually been trading with my friend since 96 I think, he was the first person I ever dealt with on the net concerning TF's. He had an advert on a site selling TF's, I contacted him but he said he was no longer selling his collection. After talking to him we sorted out a trade instead and ever since then have kept in contact over the past 12 years. I'm hoping to get over to the U.S in the next couple of years to do 2 things, Botcon and meet up with my friend:).

The Activators seem rather complex for basics.

Next, I was scouting around looking for certain items I wanted in the Target toysale. I'd hit a Toy Kingdom where I'd just picked up the Lego sets and then figured might as well as pop around to BigW. I get there and there's the usual. I pick up a few Deluxes and voyagers to scan them to see if there's any further evidence of a drop in prices across the boards. As I bring them back to the TF section, low and behold my eyes fell on this:

I'm a massive fan of these new runs. That Shockwave cover is so rare and hard to find let alone get for a good price. It completes the foldout set of covers in the G1 War and Peace story where Shockwave got a lot of airtime. :D The Megatron homage to TFTM holo-foil cover is just love. And the Energon one has a great poster in the middle.
And for $7 too! That's just unbelievable. I have no idea where it was pulled from but it was definitely one of the acquisitons of the year for me. It's not the greatest of backing boards but I like the side views much like the Animated close ups on their side packaging but except here it's the combiner mode.

I picked up all 3 for about $28. I was very satisifed as I'd thought I'd just given up on the possibility of ever completing the joining covers
