Tried to update my powerdvd9 but it says can only be installed with a HL-DT-ST device. What is that???????

An optical drive of some sort - DVD/bluray, technically even CDROM.

Depending on the operating system you have there could be a software compatibility issue. I think you need at least PowerDVD 2010 to be fully compatible with Win 7. Also, 64 bit versions of Win Vista and 7 have issues with reading blu ray discs.

Powerdvd9 came with the computer has a package. Blah just get a bluray recorder :rolleyes:
