Brazil (and anything else by Terry Gilliam (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000416/), although this one is clearly the best)
The Incredibles - my desert island movie.
Batman Begins - best recent action flick
Beowulf = Not yet sure if it's earned all time great status, but I've seen it an extra two times recently (so it's front of mind) and it's just f@#$%ng awesome!
The Prestige - Another recent movie I adore. Released at the same time as The Illusionist which might have overshadowed it in popularity, due to its overlapping genre, but is dwarfed by it in quality.

I'm sure there's more :)

Hmm...

If I listed them all, I'd probably use up the 5000 character limit :D

But to sum up my favourite genres - I'd have to say Action, Comedy & Sci-Fi

for example Le Mans with Steve McQueen (Brilliant Movie!), Mad Max (Classic ), The Castle (It makes me laugh so hard, my sides hurt :D) & all 6 Star Wars flicks (Awesome with a capital A :D)

Umm... for the sake of listing...

Favourite Drama: Aimee und Jaguar

Question: Can Serenity be watched on its own or do you need the back story of it?
Looks like I need to pick up V for Vendetta, Shaun of the Dead, The Professional, The Castle and King Arthur (which was on TV the other night  ), the few I haven't seen or are interested in seeing. Great lists guys, keep it coming!

OK here goes (I too consider myself abit of a film buff)

Comedy
Ghostbusters (I'm sure Robzy agrees:D) IMo some of Bill Murrays best work, along with Stripes and Groundhog Day.
The Adventures of Ford Fairlane (1800 Unbelivable)
Superbad (yeah it's low brow but so funny)

Crime
Snatch
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction (Nothing needed to be said on these 3 classics)

Action
Predator (Pure genius for it's time)
Die Hard
Under Siege (Tommy Lee Jones is one of the best villians ever in this)

chick flicks (defined by films my wife has made me watch)
Love Actually (quite funny guys)
Intolerable Cruelty
Rent (crappy sad story but some awesome rock songs)

Epic/Blockbuster/Big Release style movies
the Perfect Storm (being a 4th gen fisherman at one stage of my life this is given)
Independence Day
X-Men 3 (Great conclusion to a great Trilogy)

Cinematic Crimes (Movies that should be destroyed and never viewed)
the Mod squad
Weekend at Bernies 2
Police Academy Mission to Moscow

there are so many more movies that I love that deserve mention like Tron, Gone in 60 Seconds, The Karate Kid, Fight club, Seven, Snake Eyes, the Stand, The Replacements, Bloodsport and Troy (plus so many more) but here are my 3 favourites of all time

High Fidelity (alot of people liken me to John Cusacks character in this film)
The Boondock Saints (The film Tarantino should of made)
and number 1 of all time and probably most viewed by me

The Transformers: The Movie (naturally:D)

Thats it case closed. Mods feel free to lock this thread as the answer has been given:p

You all gotta check out the AWESOME "TRANSMORPHERS (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0960835/)". Beast Wars has better 3D than this 2007 TF ripoff! It's hilariously bad, and i'm not ashamed to say i paid new-release price just for the privilege. Hey it's got an ex playboy model in it, as a lesbian!

And a favourite movie from my childhood, starring none other than Mr. T, "The Toughest Man in the World (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088291/)"
