Coming soon: Voting for the 2012 Ozformer Awards

Hey folks, I've started work on the ballot for the 2012 Ozformers Awards.

Voting will commence from 31 December 2012 and be open for about three weeks, with results announced on Australia Day 2013.

There were suggestions of pre-award nomination rounds for the creative sections, so you might see some of those in the next few weeks.

For the new members who've joined in the past year, here's a link to last year's results (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=12838) so you can see what I'm talking about.

Congrats Hursticon! :cool: I can see why you won this last year - you're always very helpful and friendly, and you've certainly helped make Ozformers a more pleasant experience for me at least. There's also a few other members here I would give this award to as well. :D

I've always questioned if there should be an Ozformer of the year. To me it seems an award not needed as everyone on this board is always helpful and friendly;):)

Good point! Maybe if there were more sub categories for this award it would give more members their deserved recognition? It's all a bit of fun, anyway.

Check the link in the first post. Categories include: Best toys per series per size class; best news; favourite eps of TF Prime; favourite comics; favourite toys/characters ever and much more.

You can still do this. The voting collates the favourites overall from the Ozformers of the toys released in 2012 (since you can only vote for one per series/size class) but there's still room on the forum for threads to list and discuss your individual favourites separately.

I'll have a think about the "Ozformer of the Year" category.

Yeah, maybe a single "best member" award could make "losers" feel disheartened or thinking they are unliked.

Perhaps two or three (positively) subjective categories relating to things like, most creative, most informative, most entertaining, etc. ???

It's your awards, so whatever is easiest for you, or best in your mind.

Just as a side note, I wasn't sure I should mention it because it's posted a little late probably for this year, but I've started a fan fic as well, which can be found in the Creative section (Transformers: Heroes if anyone would like to have a read). I never expected my Photo Comics to be nominated anyway so that was a pleasant surprise. I'm only new here so to have my stuff listed alongside some of the awesome work of the board's more established members, is a true privilege.

Aw, thanks dude! I really appreaciate it. Then I might add your Megs drawing as part of my rotating sig, if you don't mind. :D

I haven't had time this year to draw much but I'd like to get some done very soon. I'm very undecided about what I should draw first though, :o so... If you have any requests I'd be glad to give it a go.

And thanks for checking out my new fic! :) I don't expect to win or anything, I'm just happy to share my love of Transformers with everyone here - that's more than enough for me.

Many thanks for your compliments Megatron, I do try to do my best and was very lucky that others thought so highly of me in 2011 but in saying that; Like many others have expressed, OZformers is the benefactor of a vast number of great people and many are more deserving of the title than myself. ;):)
