View Full Version : Jagex MMOG to begin Beta testing this week

The browser-based MMOG for Transformers by Jagex is still some way off from being ready (was initially being aimed for mid-2012, but I'm thinking it will be closer to mid-2013), however they will be conducting some beta testing this week (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/video-games-17/transformers-universe-closed-beta-starts-tomorrow-121212-176479/)... but don't expect to hear anything about it, as the invited participants have to agree to not disclose anything about it.

For the rest of us though, there is another promotional article (http://www.edge-online.com/features/jagexs-transformers-universe-is-a-massively-multiplayer-action-rpg-that-puts-the-toy-box-robots-onto-the-battlefield/) out with more details and images from the Game.

(I think the invites went out to people who registered at BotCon this year, which probably means it will just be mostly Americans testing out this international game)

You could go to their website, put in your details and answer a bunch of questions about your gaming status (how many hours you play, what kind of games you enjoy, what systems you own etc etc) and then enter with a chance to be picked. Naturally, I registered for the BETA testing but didn't get picked :( But considering I don't live in the states and was honest about my gaming hours I guess I should not be too surprised.

Apparently they've now opened it up for anyone to go to the website now and register (http://www.transformersuniverse.com/) for selection.... as they have announced further Beta testing in 2013 (lending more weight to the idea that this game won't be open until mid-2013).

More people have been sent out invitations (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/transformers-universe-mmo-beta-continues/26467/) to join in with the Beta testing.

Anyone here been participating, or invited to? (just remember that you can't say anything about what you've been doing)
