In the time it took me to finish up that post, Amazon appears to have sold the last of their FOC Gen2 Combaticons. It wasn't noted as being limited stock either like they do when items get to less than 20 in stock... so I'm guessing a scalper may have snapped them up at that ridiculously cheap price to easily resell at double that price (they go for about $80-100 on ebay at the moment).
I've left the link up in case they get some more in stock, or an order is cancelled.

Just placed an order for the four Rescue Bots (about Voyager size in packaging), and 3 Thundertrons... shipping came to a total of $14! That's $2 per Voyager toy! (makes the Thundertrons cost $24 each - cheaper than a Deluxe toy here)
The key is to buy a few extra items if you only want one, so that shipping is cheaper (keep adjusting your cart to get the best rate, and sell off the extras at an Australian retail price, or less if it was something released here).

Picked up the box today from the post office... a huge box for $14 shipping from America, filled with seven voyager sized toys.
How can you beat that.... well, free shipping would be better, but we'd only get that if we were living in America (yes, they get cheap toys AND free shipping).

I just wish Amazon shipped all their Transformers toys overseas, not just the more random ones (or ones they probably aren't selling well in America).

Yeah, the non-Amazon people will have their own shipping and must have something pre-entered for international orders. Amazon must have some sort of bulk shipping deal with the US postal service (or whomever they use) to get such a good deal.

Quite a few IDW compilations are listed at close to half price, but don't buy with toy items, as they end up just floating around loose in a big box. Plus, you have to pay shipping, so compare to bookdepository's prices who have free shipping.

Been watching amazon for a bit lately. Does amazon actually get stock now? I notice with almost everything tf related is sole by another shop... It's getting a little annoying, especially since they all suddenly decide to double the price, and the ones that do ship internationally charge quite a bit for it. America collectable for example was wanting to charge me almost $10 postage for each individual kreon combiner...

I think once Amazon puts up something for foreign shipping, independents probably buy them out if it is a relatively popular item, so that they can monopolise it through their own listings.
If Amazon charges retail prices and has FREE shipping within America, it gives a lot of room for profit to the independents.

Damn... after months of minimal new stuff added to the "International" registry (items we can buy), I ended up caving and bought several items from BBTS and HK that Amazon are now stocking for a lot less. :(
(then again, other items aren't much cheaper, as Amazon seems to be charging about 20% on top of US RRP... probably to cover their cheap/free shipping offers)

I've seen how big the Dragon set and 5-packs are, so this will be a fairly big box. I don't think I've ever had a problem with shipping before, so I'm not sure why other people are getting such big amounts quoted. Maybe single items are charged heaps, and the more you add, the cheaper it gets per item.

Removed Smokescreen and added Prime Weaponizer Bumblebee to the same cart and it only added $5.
Then I tried adding 3 Smokescreens and postage jumped up to a whopping $170.

For teh lulz I then put 10 Smokescreens into an empty cart and it says postage is $358.35 for them.
So yeah, I'm not sure who is in charge of setting the postage prices on things at Amazon but they sure have some wacky ideas about the costs to post certain items...

You might not get an error, you might instead get very high postage amounts.

I can't see any Smokescreen's on Amazon sold by Amazon. Once other dealers are just using Amazon to sell their stuff, they can charge whatever shipping amount they want.

It seems to be that the weights are all wrong. Having a look in the information section, hardshell comes up as weighing 8.9 pounds. Which according to a handy online weight converter is 4 Kilos. Something tells me that aint right.

Whereas Springer and blitzwing are about 12 ounce = 340 grams.

Sigh. Why do they get so wrong??

Why are these (recent) items having weights that are about 20 TIMES what they really are? People outside of America have to pay shipping on these (Americans don't, so it doesn't matter to them what the weights are of these items), which means the Cart charges 20 times the correct amount of shipping to us non-Americans wanting these items.
Since most of your customers are American, who don't pay shipping (free shipping no matter how heavy the items are), these errors don't get noticed or reported.... or even fixed, as I reported this problem way back on 19th April, and still hasn't been fixed yet.
Can someone there at least look at each of those listings, and their unusually high weights, before replying.
Because there are a lot of Australian collectors who would like to buy these items, but can't due to the incorrect weights creating HUGE shipping charges.

They've changed the weight on one (Hardshell (http://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Commander-Hardshell-Munitions-Figure/dp/B00B2LZFSI/ref=pd_sbs_t_1)), from 8.9 pounds (4kg) to 1 pound (half Kg), which is still 3 times the approximate weight of that figure based on the weights of other Cmdr class figures on their site.... which means it will still over-charge on postage.

The reply to my latest message is that they got the "correct" weights from their vendor... which could be Hasbro.... so I'm not sure if they are saying that someone on their end didn't enter them in correctly, or, that the excessive weights were given to them by Hasbro and they consider them to be the correct weights.

They said that it should have only taken 3-5 business days to fix, but is taking longer than normal to fix. (it's been seven weeks since I first reported some items)

Idiots.... they're complete idiots.

Someone has finally gone through and changed the weights of all but the Legends Bumblebee and the Sunder/Rewind Disc 2-pack.... BUT, they've just been lazy and changed everything to 1 pound, which is about 454grams. Yes, almost half a kilo for all those items I listed several posts above, no matter how small they are.
(those two unchanged Legends sets are still 7.2 pounds)

That might sound like a huge improvement, but for the Cmdr figures, it's still 5 times their real weight, and still over double the weight of the Deluxes.
Sure, their shipping fees are pretty good, but this still blows out the cost of these items, preventing any real saving.
I put in the three Cmdrs I want, and even though shipping is a reasonable US$20 (compared to what USPS charges these days), it still comes out to AU$19.28 each, which is more than AU retail.
(three Cmdrs that are the correct weight has US$10.14 shipping, which I guess is too good for international postage... maybe I'm just getting greedy, after being used to these sort of shipping prices)
Unfortunately, there's nothing else on Amazon that I want at the moment, to offset the weights of these three small toys.

If this keeps happening, it may just be cheaper to send it to a mail forwarder and get free shipping within the US.

The one I use, ShipitTo has big discounts for economy airmail with insurance, nd its been saving me a fortune for shipments from the Transformers club. I think I'l use it for amazon now, because there are fewer and fewer new release items that are AmazonGlobal eligible anyway

It's possibly a bonus - someone thought Razorclaw's sword wasn't big enough so they gave him a Voyager Prime sword. Or it's a mock-up for the photo because that's all they had and spraypainted it gold.

there are items listed with free shipping. Some are super expensive, some are a reasonable deal. but most of them seem to be japanese dealers listing on Amazon.com.

It comes with a sixth sword, for Predaking... probably to have it more in scale to the combined mode, as Razorclaw's sword can look a little small when held by Predaking.
You can still use the regular sword if you want, but now you have an extra sword as an option. (it looks to be based on the Ultimate BH Optimus sword, or could even be that sword)

The weight is listed as 1 pound, which is way under... this thing should be closer to 8-10 pounds, being similar weight to Metroplex (who is listed at 8 pounds).
I wonder, since you don't get charged until it is released... if that weight is corrected before it is released in September, would they then charge you the new, higher shipping rate. They may guarantee giving you the lowest price of the item if it gets discounted later, but make no mention of the shipping amount, which may be recalculated when you are being charged.

seems like they fixed the shipping on him. i had him added to an order of 3 combiner kreons and the 2 smaller ones trailcutter and windcharger and it brought the shipping cost from $20 up to $25.

It may have been out of stock for a while, so when TC saw them, it would have defaulted to the next "cheapest" ones by a non-Amazon source.

But Smokescreen was one that had the wrong weight on it before. It still does, but not as bad. Before it was 8.9 pounds, and now it is 1 pound (it should be about half a pound). Since it was about 20 times the weight it should be, it was costing a lot in shipping.

Its a seller through Amazon and they are charging $4.99 shipping per item. I put all 12 in my cart, and shipping was going to be $59.88. And that was US shipping only, no International.

One of the funny things about Amazon with their shipping, is when they have to split up a shipment into more than one box (when ordering more than will fit in one box)... and they send out split invoice emails that also proportionately splits the shipping you paid, which can end up with a tiny shipping amount on the smaller box.
Just like with one of my first orders (on the first or second page of this topic), the order I placed a few days ago was just shipped, and two of the 13 items were shipped in a second box... noted as US$2.88 shipping.
It just makes me laugh when they do that, making it look like the two Kreo Combiners are being sent from America to Australia, for about AU$3. I couldn't even buy a posting box here big enough to fit the two Combiners in for $3.

The weights seem a little higher on those (about double other Deluxe weights on Amazon), but maybe its due to the extra comic in them. Or someone got it wrong again.

I saw those tin lunchboxes at kings comics (about $20 each) last night they do look very nice up close but their build quality is attrocious. I picked one up, and decided to unclasp it, the lower half of the latch came off in my hand. the tin is extremely thin, and the two hollow rivets holding the lower half of the latch in place were poorly installed. I recommend against these unless you can't live without the artwork. Not a usable item in my opinion.

Most newer TV's don't have a problem with PAL and NTSC. Every TV I've tried my American Wii, SNES and PS2 on have worked just fine.

My experience with iParcel has always been bad as they cut cost by providing only one measly small "complimentary bubble wrap that doesn't offer any protection whatsoever.
The items in the shipping box have free reign to move within the box and you then get dinged corners on your toys :mad:

They actually used the bubbles quite appropriately with yours, to wedge them in so that nothing moved. My boxes usually arrive with a couple bubbles thrown in just to end up sliding around inside the big box with the toys.

I had never thought of looking on Amazon for toys...I just found some cheap generations ones along with the silver knight 2 pack and TRU mp grimlock but when I go to checkout it says:

If this is Hasbro restricting export that is going to suck, we'll suddenly have most of our generations access either cut off or at least much more expensive. So, after a live chat with an Amazon representative, here's what i've been told:


Amazon:I am showing that if your are not allowed to proceed through checkout with that particular item, it is not eligible for the Global Shipping option.

Me:Even though i've ticked the global shipping option and it is listed as being available from amazon itself, i'm still not eligible for that item to be shipped internationally?

Amazon:I'm so sorry. If you check the global shipping option for the item and it still does allow your to purchase at checkout, it is not available for global shipping.

Me:Are you by any chance able to confirm for me, if all or certain toys that are listed by, sold and shipped from amazon.com are no longer eligible for international delivery?

Amazon:I'm sorry but the restrictions may be applicable to specific toys and therefore is not a general restriction on all toys. Please check which toys are applicable at checkout.

That error message content (of toys and games etc) has been there all the time. It is just giving the customer ideas of what to investigate before chasing up one of their staff to look into it.

So hopefully it is just a glitch after all, but time will tell.
