2012 - How many TF's did you get, which were your rarest & fav's?

Number of Transformers I got this Year: 136

Favorite Acquisition/s of the Year: MP-10 Optimus & Bot Shots Optimus with Trailer, FOC line toys, FOC game, 'Chicks Dig my Rig' T-Shirt

Rarest I got this Year: G1 Fortress Maximus, G1 Scorponok & G1 Reflector (all 100% complete)


Hoping you all have had a Primus-blessed year and may all your acquisitions for next year be in mint condition ;)

For me, in my first year, since May, I have obtained 19 Transformer figures, which is alright for me, considering I don't have that much money to go with.
My fave would probably be either Classics Soundwave or Generations Thundercracker, both great figures IMO. It's been a good year.
Rarest I guess would be Encore 19. Not too rare, but felt really good getting and worth it, as if it was Vintage. :)

Favorite Acquisition/s of the Year: Grimlock Masterpiece (both hasbro and takara tomy) Beast Wars TM-SP-DX Optimus Primal (telemocha series) and cybertron leaderclass Galvatron just his alt mode was awesome.

Rarest I got this Year: Beast Wars TM-SP-DX Optimus Primal (this was a real pain in the butt to hunt down)

Rarest I got this Year: Not a clue :D:D As most of my purchases came out this year. I got a AM-19 Gaia Unicron though. Wouldn't call it rare, but it's my first TT purchase.

Only RiD Wheeljack was purchased from a brick and mortar store. No doubt I would've included Masterpiece Optimus had I found one in a local TRU.:mad:

Rarest I got this Year: Japanese Metals Optimus Primal vs Megatron 2 pack. Not very rare I know but it's the rarest I got.

Hmm if we are counting actual Hasbro and Taktomy Transformers then I think I got about 11, and that's counting G2 FOC Bruticus as 5.

Favourite was MP Lambor.

Rarest was probably Powerdive, although he's not particularly rare at all.

Favorite: hmmm tough one coz the figure I like most is an unofficial one (Green Giant) and isnt counted, but among the valid I would say botcon runamuck and runabout.

Rarest: I wouldn't call it rare.... G1 Metalhawk.... mebbe count G1 Vroom in too considering its hard getting the figure.

Favourite acquisition(s): Masterpiece Grimlock, by far.

Rarest acquisition: probably Classics Voyager Optimus Prime. I paid more than a sane amount for him (which I don't regret at all).

It's been a good start to my collection. I started half-way through the year, so that averages to about a couple each week for the last 5 months. The only limit on my collecting at this point is lack of space to show them all off.

This (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=3238) is griffin's counting method. Basically anything that satisfies these four conditions count:
1) It's an official Transformers product
2) It is a toy product that is intended to be played with
3) If it is included with another toy, it must be intended to be a stand alone toy and isn't required to complete another figure
4) Must be in playable condition

Just in case this gets off-topic, I was joking. I think the UCM is a great way of comparing collection data year-to-year as long as people follow the agreed method of counting.

1. How many TFs did I get this year? To be honest, and as someone else has already so eloquently put it, I CBFed counting them. I lack the room to bring them all out for a proper count anyways. If I was to guesstimate, I'd say about 100 maybe? I really don't know.

2 & 3. For me, my rarest TFs that I got this year also happen to be my faves:

G1 Megatron MISB and Botcon 2008 SG Megatron. Also of note is my 2012 SG Soundwave. I would also include my Botcon 2008 SG Starscream which I bought last month, but just got today so it just misses out for the 2012 list. Oh yeah, I also love my vintage KO Astro Magnum. :) I have so many other faves, but they are not as rare as the above.

My fave and most rare non-toy item also deserves a mention: an Artist Proof SDCC 6" Palisades Polystone statue of Megatron. :)

If I count what I opened, I got 5 Transformers in 2012 (and sold 2 of them).

If I count what I bought but haven't opened yet, I got about 35 (but that includes 3 combiner multipacks). Not sure I can count those yet as "unopened" means "likely to change my mind and sell".

My favourite toy was TF:Prime Ratchet. I think he looks great in robot mode and feels like a good stand in for IDW MTMTE Ratchet. TF:Prime Wheeljack is the runner up, and FOC Jazz was my least favourite.

Nothing rare, except Masterpiece Optimus Prime since I never saw that in store and have to thank Lint for helping me with that.

I guess it pays to keep a record. That is one really orderly itemized list Shrky!.. I just keep an album in photobucket for each year so all I just had to count em, exclude all the non TFs and KOs and 3rd party stuff easy as :D:D

yeah it detailed except for maybe prices which i might add to my 2013 list but wasnt to hard to put together, i just updated it as i got it, as my intention was to write a little blog entry about my pick ups, but that sometimes is harder to get motivated to do!!

My list is just a rolling update in Exel so I have no idea how many I bought in previous years. I always thought it would be good to keep a list like that but to work it out now would take forever, plus I never kept the receipts.
