This looks nice.

Man that's a really really bright green, but y'know I kinda dig it.

The design looks pretty awesome. lots of weapons and interactivity with the Headmaster. Also looks like he wont look too out of place next FP's not Chromedome.

Hardbone though? Seriously? and right after Grind Rod was released.

He is a nice "Springer Green"!

I wish I had've started paying attention to these 3rd party products years ago so I could add not Hardhead with some friends.

If the listing price quoted is correct, he will be cheaper than complete 2nd hand G1 Hardhead figures.

The design is pretty awesome and that alone makes it a must but the colors are indeed brighter than what I would have preferred.

Like it was with FP's Chromedome, the mouth plate color is wrong.

Looks pretty cool. And with Toyworlds record I'll probably pick it up.

This is the same group that's being doing the Throttlebots right? And before that they did the kinda crappy looking Megatron that everyone seemed to love?

Yeah it's the same group but you seem to be in a minority on the "crappy Megatron" department ;)

Why is it crappy? Besides a bit of trigger kibble he's fine.

He did say 'crappy looking' - and to be fair, Hegemon does look kinda plain. I don't have one myself but from what I've read he's apparently far better in hand than he is in photos.

Never handled one but looks crappy. Very plain, doesn't really suit any particular line or have a cohesive style and seems to make sacrifices to both alt-mode and robot mode... for example the lower legs look bad in robot mode and as a gun handle.

Each to their own, I find the robot mode to have enough detail in the sculpt to easily put him on par with most classics, and he doesn't have any stupid shell former wings, or supper skinny legs ruining the robot mode either. The gun mode is compromised somewhat, however it still looks better than a Nerf gun.

So going to agree to disagree as to me the figure looks awesome and was probably among the top 3 Transformer related objects I bought last year. Got nothing but joy from it.

I agree. In person it looks pretty damn good and is an excellent classics representation on G1 Megs and I don't even own it.

But anyway this Hardheaded is growing on me.

Rollbar/Grind Rod could have been a coincidence of Engrish, but now with Hardbone being revealed there's no doubt about it, those brilliant Toyworld designers must still be in primary school :p

Well Aurora is a fairly normal name, I sorta get the feeling they meant to call Hardbone Hardskull, but got confused. At least Hardskull would make a lot more sense.

Are Toyworld Japanese? Certainly wouldn't be the first time this has happened. :D

I found Aurora to be a bit of an odd choice, they could have easily gone with Flashlight or Torchlight? The rest of the team names shouldn't really bring up any innuendo even with the worst Engrish :p

Hardskull would have been a good third-party adaption :)

Was only assuming that TW is Japanese because of their domain: http://www.toyworld.jp/cms_category.php?id=2

He's pretty damn impressive looking like Hegemon before him. A good toy no real big complaints, only minor ones.

I found a few of his joints a little on the loose side like Hegemon too, however nothing serious so far.

I'm glad the weird transparent yellow muzzle on his main cannon is removable, I think it looks better without it.

I agree, he is pretty good despite the minor joint flaws but he can still hold a pose with pretty decent articulation.

In regards to criticism, the headmaster is a little lame. The Headrobots Hothead headmaster is better with more playability despite both sharing similar flaws. Although the Hardbone head is a bit better articulated, the X-1 Code headmaster is more innovative when it comes to the gimmick due to the auto-hiding face.

At first I didn't like the yellow muzzle but it grew on me so don't mind it.

Overall, a fine toy, worth getting. Only sorry to see the same minor flaws as Hegemon transitioning to this toy when they should have been easily refined.

So my ultimate question is, is it worth it? I have the other headmasters on order, and i guess this one would fit in well with them.

Aesthetically Hardbone looks quite similar with FP's Code X, particularly in vehicle mode. Hardbone is a good deal taller though he is a space tank so that doesn't bother me to much. The headmaster companions are about the same size, however Code's does look a bit better and ever so slightly taller.

AS FP have released no word about their own Hardhead toy, it seems like this one is meant to fit the gap. Though I still wonder who is going to release Highbrow.

Admittedly I think FP might be able to do a little better, however on his own merits Hardbone is an excellent toy.

Hoping this image works off my twitter feed, but hardbone does look glorious with the IDW/cartoon faced Headrobots hothead!

I ordered this on a whim yesterday, after forgetting entirely that I started this thread.

Looking forward to it.
