Additional comments

Fiction:
"2012 was the best year for Transformers comics. Ever."

"I'm really enjoying MTMTE, every issue is engaging and well-written, with consistently great art. Seeing a lot of previously minor transformers characters being fleshed-out as main characters is fantastic!"

"IDW fixed their AHM/ongoing problem by hiring writers who love the franchise and who also respect what was written before them, and are producing stellar work while also fixing the wrongs of the previous writers. If not for IDW, Transformers fiction would be dead and uninteresting."

"IDW's MTMTE was really the driver in my returning to following TF fiction on a regular basis. Reading MTMTE from Issue 6-7 onwards spurred me into collecting all the back issues, as well as the entire IDW-verse collection."

"We are in a golden age of transformers, big screen, little screen, comics computer games and novels. and most of it better than any that's come before it."

"Mtmte is the best thing to happen to transformers fiction. Ever. Can Roberts write everything to do with transformers, ever, until the end of time? Please?"

"The War for Cybertron Prequel Comic was Bad, Bad art, Bad Story, BADBADBAD"

"Transformers Prime's 2nd Season really started out strong but fell apart very quickly... Quite disappointing indeed, especially after a stellar 1st Season; Here's hoping the Predacons can bring this show up to scratch with the 3rd Season."

"Unfortunately, Transformers Prime has been a let down this year"

Toys
"Botcon this year, such a crap selection of toys. Magnus is favoured only coz he has a see through head."

"Disappointing as recent Transformers toys are not only smaller and lighter, but they have hollow parts wherever they can too (particularly the FOC Deluxes)."

"Highlight of the year was the Takara FE premium deluxes/voyagers"

"It would be worth paying an extra few $$ for the figures just to get the size back, especially with deluxes."

"Many announced exclusives seemingly failed to ever remain 'Exclusive', with many seeing wider distribution than originally suggested."

"Hasbro displayed an excellent ability at identifying a massive burgeoning market in China/South Asia & IMO succeeded in tapping said market with appropriate lines (Generations)"

"Shattered Glass was novel FIVE years ago, but the oversaturation by the club has somewhat ruined that. I wish they'd give it a rest for a year or two at least."

"Nice to see Masterpieces getting a local release, as well as Fall of Cybertron having a complement of toys."

"Wished I didn't have to import the Asian Generations stuff but you know, Hasbro Australia sucking and all..."

Congrats Griff and Snaketales. Both of your commitments to this forum are appreciated by us all and you continue to do the best for all of us.:D
Most of the news was what I picked but some results were interesting.
Here's to a great year of Ozformers.;)

I was surprised to be typing that Wheelie was the winner of a category over more than a dozen other choices.

I left Encore Fort Max out of the global news at first do a few people couldn't vote for it, but it wouldnt have changed the results, news of MP Soundwave was a strong winner. I'm sure that toy will rate highly next year.

I wonder how many voting entries Hursti had in the categories of 'Favourite Evil Transformer Toy Ever' and 'Best Global Transformers-related news of 2012' ;) :p

Great job as always Paulbot... a worthy Australia Day tradition here.

Just a couple of cut and paste errors I think... (in case you didn't catch them)

I think this was "accessories for a Transformers toy"...

Best unlicensed Transforming toy inspired by a Transformer character
Winners: Igear Generations Kup head replacements and HeadRobots' The Blood (Bludgeon upgrade kit) and Dr Wu Prime Sword and Maketoys Battle tanker (12% each)

And this one was meant to be "creative stuff"...

Favourite (Movie) Deluxe Toys
First: Snaketales' customs (24%)
Second: Deceptic_Optic's photo comics (12%)
Third: Kal-El, Hursticon and friends - Shooting the $#!+ podcast (11%)
Runner ups: Skywarp91's We Didn't Start The Fire music video; Verno's fanfic/comics; Yuktiora's Sunstreaker cosplay (9% each)

And this one is definitely wrong... :p

Ozformer Member of the Year
Winner: Griffin (17%)
Runner ups: Hursticon (13%), 5FDP; Bidoofdude; KalEl (8% each)

Thanks to those who voted for me. You're cheque is in the mail :p
I think it should go to Hursticon, as I have to work here... the other people actually earned their votes by choosing to contribute here.
(I was hoping we'd have the alternative member vote that was discussed a few weeks back, that had us voting for more objective attributes)

Given the sheer number of (awesome) customs Snaketales did over the last year, I did consider giving him his own category.

It was pretty close though between all the nominees in that category. Lots of love going around. :)

An absolutely stunning job yet again Paul, I tip my hat sir. ;)

A massive congratulations to Griffin, Snakey, Deceptic & Kal_El - You guys all do amazing jobs at contributing to the local community IMO, especially Griffin seeing as though you bloody-well maintain the place dude! :D

I'd also like to thank everyone for their kind comments & votes for myself :o; it's very humbling and gratifying to know that one is appreciated - it's nice to know that I must be doing something right. :)

Congrats to everyone else who received honourable mentions, especially Soundwave who is finally being recognised for his unwavering efforts & dedication to the Decepticon cause. :p
(As well as the wanton destruction of many a wallet :D)

Thanks again Paulbot, great effort, with great results.

with regard to the Creative works questions, that was one of the hardest choices in the whole questionaire for me, there is so much good creative work happening on here at the moment, and it's so varied. how do you compare photography against customizing, or costume design/manufacture. as indicated by paulbots note that it was very close across the board, there is some excellent creativity here.

well done.

I want to give a special congrats to Bidoofdude for getting an honorable mention (a runner up, Ozformer Member of the Year)! That is awesome dude and who knows, you may yet take out the main prize for this year.

Congrats to everyone else who got a mention, as well. :)

Also to what UM said above, seconded!

You're welcome. :o That really means a lot to me. I joined OTCA mainly because I wanted to share my love of Transformers and connect with other fans. You've really helped with that, so thanks. :D

That particular toy wasn't released during 2012, which is what this poll/awards covers (items during that calendar year).

Is the More Than Meets The Eye comic series a reboot or continuation of the IDW-verse? :o

It's the continuation of the IDW-verse, no rebooting going on. The Robots in Disguise comic is also a continuation but is set on Cybertron while MTMTE is about a bunch of Autobots (and others) on a space ship.

How much you willing to pay for 01 as the mp04 with the trailer can be very expensive
