Coming out soon online (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/comics-16/transformers-monstrosity-coming-march-1st-2013-176871/) is the next (3rd) digital-exclusive Transformers comic from IDW, said to follow on from Autocracy.
Apparently has the same creative team as Autocracy.
12 CHAPTER DIGITAL EXCLUSIVE SERIES! In the early days of the war on CYBERTRON, OPTIMUS PRIME puts everything on the line to unify the planet—but not everyone agrees that this new Prime should be in charge... Meanwhile, the fallen DECEPTION leader, MEGATRON, begins a journey that will change everything. Plus--what is the terrible secret of the DINOBOTS? All this and more in the first chapter of the digital event of the year!

So this is a digital comics thing huh. Wasn't Autocracy printed later on :D. Hope this does get print version as well. I liked the story in Autocracy. BTW is Autocracy kinda like a alternate/elseworld story yeah? it's not part of the mainstream canon, right?

Autocracy got a trade printing, I would assume Monstrosity would too.
I'm not 100% sure Autocracy is canon, events simialr to those of Autocracy have been referred to in both ongoing books, but there are too many inconsistencies for my liking. I think it is IDW's goal to have Autocracy be canon though... Paulbot or someone else may have a better understanding.

I wouldn't normally get the downloaded comics but if they are as cheap as Autocracy I'll do the same as last time and grab them to tide me over until the book comes out.
I think they are trying to keep Autocracy as cannon, well, comic cannon anyway (since there is a vast difference between it, FOC and the G1 cartoon). Orion becoming Optimus and awakening Metroplex was referred to in a recent comic, and Spotlight: Orion Pax was an obvious precursor to it. I loved Autocracy, it was dark and agressive in tone and while I'm not usually a fan of that style of art (hated it in Chaos), the art suited it perfectly. I hope this run goes along a similar theme :)

Has anyone taken a look at that cover provided at TFW (http:// http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/comics-16/transformers-monstrosity-coming-march-1st-2013-176871/)? Pretty sure that looks like Megatron undergoing some sort of change.

Looks like he has borrowed a forearm and is wearing a cape?

But what's under the cape?

Yeah Autocracy is canon but I prefer my theory that it was a dream or alternate reality (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?p=304119&postcount=41) . The current writers are working with and around it.
Best case is that Autocracy is the equivalent of our historical drama movies. It's a retelling of the story (of millions of years ago) and some of the finer points aren't all that accurate.

Well... IDW have had a history of giving a new writer creative freedom, only to have a heap of follow up stories try to work it back into canon.

and failing to seamlessly connect most of it since it clashes sometimes in the main plot and somehow makes the whole ongoing TF IDW universe more confusing in the end... I think Ill just treat Autocracy and this Monstrosity more of just an alternate "Elseworld" rather than canon...I do hope it sees TPB print too.
