According to a retail statistics agency called NPD, as noted in an article in this month's Toy & Hobby Retailer magazine, Transformers made it to number 3 in the Action Figures category during the November-December Christmas period here last year.

Toy sales at Australian Retailers during that period were apparently down, but only by 0.5%.

The top sellers during that period in Australia Retailers, from best sellers first...

Action Figures - Spiderman, Toy Story, Transformers, Star Wars, Monsuno.
Dolls - Barbie, Monster High, Lalaloopsy, Disney Princess.
Games - Monopoly, Angry Birds, Uno, Twister, Guess Who.
Outdoor - Nerf, Razor, Wahu.
Building sets - Lego City, Lego Star Wars, Lego Friends, Lego Creator, Lego Monster Fighters.
Vehicles - Hot Wheels, Disney Cars, Mario Brothers.

That's pretty cool, we beat sw! Mind your that bloody spiderman merch is still clogging shelves badly especially in target and TRU :( taking up 'prime' real estate.
See what I did there ;)

Probably due in large part to all the clearance sales of shelf-warming DOTM toys.

How on Earth can Spider-Man action figures be the top seller? They were garbage.
I'm sure Hasbro will be counting all the Bumblebees that sold over Christmas so they can make more for this year.:)
