I really am loving Acid Storm:D 90% I'm going to get him, the colours and patterns they used are AMAZING. Soundwave....... 100% ill be getting him especially that he gets 5 cassettes with him. I'm just kind of upset about the yellow visor, I just prefer red.:(

It says that they're digital mockups so it could still turn out to be red *fingers crossed for you ILikeSoundwave* :)
In all honesty I don't mind the yellow visor. I do prefer the cartoon-accurate red though because I like to think of a Masterpiece as the ultimate iteration of the cartoon character, not of the original toy.

Awesome! All the tapes are there. Although heavily photoshopped, seems like Soundwave will be identical or pretty close to the Tomy release aside from the eyes (which I prefer as yellow).
Acidstorm looks very crap but it could be the photoshop green.

I think the yellow visor is a GREAT idea! :D It makes the toy more accurate to the original G1 toy, comic book, story books (virtually every G1 medium other than the cartoon!) colours, and also makes it distinct from the TakaraTOMY version in a meaningful way. :) This isn't the first time a Hasbro MP has leaned toward toy and/or comic accuracy over TakTOM's show-likeness, others have been:
+ Grimlock -- crown over brain scanner/butler-set
+ Skywarp -- more toy-accurate colours (including yellow eyes (G1 Seekers have yellow (stickered) eyes))
+ Rodimus -- more toy-accurate colours
NOOOOOOOOOO, SOUNDWAVE HAS A YELLOW VISOR, I WANT RED!!!
I'm just kind of upset about the yellow visor, I just prefer red.:(
Is your eye colour preference worth paying up to $200 (at full RRP) extra to get the TakaraTOMY version? :p You could always repaint the visor yourself if it really bugs you that much. ;)

I am liking this release better than Tomy's. I think from now on, I am going to collect MP toys exclusively from Hasbro if there is an obvious release. They are better value for money and easier to deal when it comes to QC.

Gotta say Hasbro is doing a great job with the Masterpieces, the deal on Soundwave is outrageously better than the Japanese releases.
If only they were releasing the licensed cars as well i'd be more inclined to wait it out in the future.

That is one seriously bright green! It's growing on me, despite the initial retina burn. :p
Soundwave looks rad! The yellow visor doesn't worry me too much. In the comics it's sort of a blended red-yellow anyway. Rumble, Frenzy & Ravage in his chest, Laserbeak on his arm and Buzzsaw as a fiddle toy. All set! :p

It would've been nice to be able to have both red and yellow visors, ala Grimlock with his red/blue. I prefer red though.

Hmm interesting, it looks like aside form the yellow visor he may also have a brighter cartoony blue, ala Hasbro MP10. I still far prefer the Japanese releases however Like MP10 this looks to be a much better deal.
Acid storm looks crazy bright, however if the crazy colours are done right and they give him a reasonable Hasbro price tag, that Toy's R Us sees fit to reduce further ala Thundercracker. Then I might be tempted.

I personally find TakTOM's digitally enhanced images still aren't nearly as bad as Hasbro's. Like the photography used on MP Soundwave's box... the toy actually looks better IMHO! :) So much so that I've now stashed Soundwave's box in storage instead of having it on display like my other MP boxes. :o

Lol, they have Ravage mis-transformed in the official pics:

(they forgot to pull out the nose, leaving a hole in the middle of his face)
Not sure what's up with the tformers post, but the pics on tfw2005 (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-generations-classics-30-35/transformers-masterpiece-acid-storm-hasbro-release-official-images-176989/) look better. A less eye-gouging shade of green. Overall, I'm digging the green and black scheme.

I've just been spending the last three weeks hassling ToysRUs here for product images of these two, with no luck.
I emailed them, and they replied to tell me to call them. So I did, 5 times over 2 weeks... getting an answering machine each time, asking me to leave my contact details. They called me back only twice of those 5 calls, several hours later when I was at work.
I then emailed them again on Friday to ask what is going on, and why they can't just email me with an answer. (also asking why they didn't want the free publicity)
Monday afternoon while I'm in Melbourne I get a call asking if anyone has gotten back to me yet. (I even told them in the email that I won't be back in Brisbane until Wednesday, so I wouldn't be able to do anything before then)
Not happy.
(and the phonecall yesterday was just to ask if I wanted my email passed onto a person responsible for boys toys.... gee, what do you think? It was even in the original email. And you thought the stores were run by kids who don't know what they are doing. This is just shocking customer service.)
Now after all this time mucking around, TRU America released their images to fansites. We were first with the news, so it would have been nice to back it up with being first with the images.

I dont think that anyone at TrUs wanted to get in trouble by leaking it and no one you spoke with had the nuts to tell you that. That sucks but still, your breaking info was right :thumbsup
And "Etipsone" (the name currently on the cockpit) is the name of an artist who did some corporate graffiti art for Hasbro HQ.

I like the green eyes on Acid Storm - another really nice touch that breaks the monotony of red eyes on the other MP Seekers (or yellow eyes in the case of Hasbro Skywarp) :) Personally for me, it's worked out well that Acid Storm is also using the new Seeker mould -- cos my Starscream, Skywarp and Thundercracker are all the old MP Seeker mould, but Sunstorm is the new one. If I get Acid Storm, then it means that my Rainmakers are actually a different mould (well, a heavily retooled version of the same mould) from my "regular" Seekers. :) Aaahh... if only they'd release the blue Rainmaker in this mould, I'd be one happy chappy! I can understand that it's probably too soon after MP Thundercracker to release another blue MP Seeker (even if it's a different shade of blue with a drastically different deco/theme), so releasing Acid Storm first makes sense. I just hope that "Blizzard Storm" (or wateva they decide to call him) will be released next. :) Anyway, all this combined with the upcoming Generations figures indicates that someone at Hasbro's actually trying to come up with some good ideas for Transformers, and this gives me hope. :D

What would the odds be that Hasbro will release their version of Sunstorm next? They seem to be following TakTom's lead in terms of MPs, so even though TT Sunstorm was a limited run maybe that will be next?
Maybe Soundwave having Yellow eyes is a sign?
but probably not.

Sorry I couldn't post yesterday (Was at a Kiss Concert;))
I love the look of Soundwave, though a little disappointed with the yellow.
I'm hoping they'll include some sort of reflective red sticker to put on the visor if you wish to. Rumble and Frenzy look kind of... weird in the stock. They look very awkward compared to the Takara versions.
I'll still get this, as it's basically near perfection (hoping!!!:p;))
Acid Storm actually looks pretty good to me. He may not match source material, (which is basically nothing) but as an addition to a seeker collection and as a figure in its own right as a toy, he looks sweet*!!! (*high pitched)
The digital camo looks slightly out of place, but it still kind of works.
The green eyes and cockpit are awesome as well.:D
They both look pretty cool and I hope they get more stock than the last figures.
I might email TRU about that now actually...:p;)

Awesome to see this. Seriously if people don't have the TAK/TOM Soundwave they NEED the Hasbro one. Every adult Transformers fan needs this toy.
Now,I personally chose the Takara version because A) I wanted the Red visor and B) The shambles that was TRU MP-10 was too much of a fudge-around to want to deal with again. but serisouly guys go buy this!!

They have said they've ordered a hopefully sufficient amount and they should be here mid to late June.

The reply went as follows::cool:
Dear Ryan,
Thank you for your e-mail.
We have placed an order for a sufficient amount, so hopefully you don't miss out this time.
We don't have an exact release date, but stock in due to arrive in early to mid June 2013.
You can always call us around that time so that we can give you an idea of which stores will be receiving stock.
If you have any further enquiries please don't hesitate to contact our customer service team.
Kind Regards,

Thanks for that Bidoof.
So they know which stores are getting stock? Is it allocated to each store or do the stores themselves request it? Because when I asked at Wollongong about Thundercracker the store manager said that they probably wouldn't get any even though he wanted some because so many had asked about it.

Yeah I got the exact same feeling of frustration by a staff member when I enquired about Prime & Thundercracker some time ago; as he explained it, TRU Wollongong being an 'Express' store, they basically wouldn't know what they were getting until it arrived in their dock & having to shelve the stock. :(

From my understanding, TC isn't shelf warming in the states so much as they are just not flying off the shelves. People seem to have this idea that because this or that local TRU still has 1, 2 or 3 still available that the release was a major failure and its shelf warming and OMG this has done irrepairable damage to the Habro masterpiece line and Hasbro should listen to everything that I say cause I am a true fan!!!!1!!1!1!11!!!

It's the exact same Megatron gun that came with MP01 Convoy/Optimus Prime. :o IMO that's the least exciting accessory and I wish they'd skipped it and given us something else unique, like something to clip on or over his forearm to recreate how it looked in Fire in the Sky when Soundwave renenergised Skyfire (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Oc9BfTCa6SY#t=368s).

No exactly true, the gun has an additional hinge for the stock. It also seems more sturdier than the other ones, as they tend to snap around that hinge.
