TakaraTomy to release Kreo Transformers

The initial line-up is just six of the sets from the first two series (http://www.takaratomy-marketing.co.jp/products_kreo/products/products01.html) (small Optimus and Bbee from first series, and Black Bbee, Vortex, Wheeljack Vs Knockout, Optimus Vs Megatron from the second series), and they appear to be unchanged from the Hasbro versions.

Prices of the larger sets are about 50% up on US Retail prices, but the smaller sets are cheaper... :confused:

They probably expect to sell enough of the smaller sets at the reduced price point to make more money than if they'd priced them at parity with the US price despite the smaller profit margin. Conversely they don't expect to sell many of the larger sets and are betting on most of the people who would have bought them at a lower price point still buying them at the higher price point (basically trying to milk hardcore Transformers fans for everything they can get).
