You guys see the episode where he sold a prototype 3&3/4 inch Boba Fett for something like 15k?

Wasn't that the show which has the person hassling people to part with prized toys really cheaply? I remember a toy show being mentioned on American TV last year, which fansites thought was pretty dodgy for getting people to sell cheap their rare toys, if they wanted to be featured on the show.

I think you may be thinking of "Pawn stars". Similar deal, just the pawn shop owners will buy anything, not just toys. On one episode they tried to convince the owner of a pretty large TF collection to part with it for fraction of its potential resale value.
I don't mind this show, but the guy is looking to double his spend when he on-sells the toys and he seems to buy mostly from people who aren't really aware of the value of what they're selling. Just makes me cringe a bit for the people when I know they've missed out.

Nah griffin is right, there was a show where someone tried to pry someone's whole collection for an insanely low ball price. Can't remember the show but remember the episode in question.

Yeah it was collection intervention. Woman pretty much tells people to sell their modern stuff and keep the vintage stuff , as they have the most investment potential. One episode she gets a guy to sell his g2 breakdown . The series is worth a watch but you have to realise its real people but they make up the scenarios. I saw an interview on YouTube with one couple on there, they made his gf look like she hated his toys but really half were hers and she really likes them etc.
That bumper bit in toy hunter was so set up hahha.
These 2 are worth a watch and also comic book men. Guy bought in a reissue megatron to sell them and they discussed the legality of the toy etc.

Toy Hunter - I've only seen the first episode but he's throwing out low prices as he is a dealer. Thats what dealers do. That bumper was such a setup the guy who 'purchased' it was the actual owner.
Collection intervention - appears to try and make collectors look like they are one step away from the crazy house. Not cool.

I remember this show... has it only just reached our shores
Entertaining for the most part although he (Jordan) gets a bit annoying at times.
I showed the wife a couple of episodes to help demonstrate that toy collecting really isn't that weird :p

I watched episode 1 and yeah it's very rigged but I found it quite entertaining and anything that gets some TF exposure is fine by me
