I like that! Also, the prototype colour scheme, arms and back kibble reminds me of Nautilator. Too bad he's going to transform into some weird Beasti-fied jet rather than a full fledged Beast.

I know what you mean, all the right colours are there (Grey/Slate/Fushia/Teal/Lime Green/ but I guess its in the wrong proportions - a lot more slate and a lot less fushia.

I just want the fish sword weapon! :o Fact is, I just want the weapons from the BH TFP line. witht he exception of a few characters , mostly the Predacons, the redecoed characters (wheeljack, Soundwave, Starscream et al) look KO, but their weapons look awesome nasty!

Honestly, I can see myself buying a couple Megatrons as classics Sharkticons. The face is close enough (kind of like a foc-sharkticon;)) to be Gnaw and some others, so I hope we get him here. :)

I'm having trouble trying to work out what Tartarex is meant to mean.
The only thing to come up on a google search for that exact word is the name of a Swedish song from about 50 years ago... which I doubt is the reason behind someone at Hasbro choosing this name.

So, perhaps it is a derivative of Tartarus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tartarus) from Greek mythology, which is like hell or the underworld. It's a bit of a stretch, but it could be a "weapon from hell" a bit like how the various other artefacts and weapons on the cartoon are "from the gods".

The story chapter calls it "Sharkticon Megatron" but is just Megatron on the box. And the weapon is called a "Sharktooth Spear" on the bio, but a "Tartarex Sword" on the box. Either some late changes, or two divisions of Hasbro aren't communicating with each other.
(It also mentions that the Bumblebee redeco is called "Night Shadow Bumblebee")

So much remoulding on this figure. It even has a cover for the head in jet mode now.

The shark motif kinda looks dorky, but at least now the jet mode front has a purpose.
I'm one who likes the colours too. Not because it is supposed to be like Gen1 Gnaw/Sharkticon (which is actually more light-grey and purple than this), but because it reminds me more of the entire 1988 Decepticon theme (http://www.toycollectors.com.au/collection/c02s4.jpg), in which almost every toy had either grey, purple or blue on it.

The Magnus' and the Grimwing's that we're seeing on shelves now, SP, are Wave 3 Voyagers. Megatron is a Wave 4 figure. He'll be released along with UM, GW & OP. 1 Magnus being replaced by Megatron from the previous wave :)
