Very glad I preordered these, Springer looks like he was very thought out, he looks very nice (though plain, like Az said) in all three modes, something not many recent triple changers can say about themselves.

Glad i preordered too. Missed grimlock and blaster thinking we'd get em. Now have to track those 2 down online when i can be bothered :o

All in all i can't wait to have these, still keeping not springer as i like him as well.

I will try and get them. But wow Hasbro really needs to use some paint! Springer looks unfinished

Blitzwing is the better of the 2. So glad he has a 'normal face'. Now I can throw out that animated Blitzwing that I have!
Springer looks boring and that helicopter thing is hideous. Colours are vile.

I think Springer looks awesome, but Blitzwing does look better. Mind you, the G1 Blitzwing toy was always superior to G1 Springer (oh, let's face it, the Decepticon Triple Changers wiped the floor with their Autobot counterparts :p) - so it's little wonder that the Generations version would be gooderer too. :)

Now Hasbro just need to give us Generations Sandstorm and Broadside and our Classicsverse Triple Changers collection can be complete! :D

So glad I pre-ordered these straight after Griffin confirmed they wouldn't be coming to Oz!

Springer looks especially well thought out and has me really excited. Blitzwing looks great too but it's a shame about his shoulders not locking into his torso in bot mode.

I am also happy with Blitzwing but feel his colors could be a little better somehow,

I just opened my first BBTS account and preordered. *sigh* Does Hasbro Australia just not want our business?

Thanks Gok, do you know how much would the shipping cost? I found it on RK as well, but it's $15 more expensive...

No idea -- I very rarely shop online, and I've never dealt w/ BBTS before. :o

Edit: I just checked - the default option is USPS Air Mail, which is US$13.99 plus $5.75 per 455g... so mebbe about $20. The preorder price for the two Voyagers is $44.99, so it'll cost at least $64.73 including postage - which makes it $32.37 per Voyager. That's still pretty damn cheap by Australian RRP standards!

Ah i just checked with this item in cart, says $31.24 for normal non-tracking air mail. Urk, so that's about $76.

Did the same with RK and it's $85 total with registered and insured airmail.

So extra $9 for faster shipping(RK seem to have stock in hand) and more secure mail?

Roche Springer looks amazing. Blitzwing looks alright but I will wait for the speculated Flywheels repaint. Just gotta wait for BBTS to get these in so I can ship my POL.

GoktimusPrime
18th April 2013, 03:55 PM
$76 is still a bit cheaper than two full priced Voyagers in Australia, so it still falls within my "Not above RRP" rule. ;) But thanks for the heads up... lets me know how much I should be saving.

One advantage of BBTS is the ability to accrue items in the PILE OF LOOT® system and thus unlock MEGA-SHIPPING-SAVINGS™.

I saw somewhere a picture of this new Springer wielding a giant chain gun ala LSOTW Issue #6, very nifty.

Raptormesh
18th April 2013, 04:36 PM
Yeah BBTS would be a no brainer if you have a pile of loot, and it's cheaper too. However I went with RK as I reckon I could get it earlier and I have had less than stellar experiences with packages from the states(delay, lost etc).

This is such a refreshing break from the stressful(for both mind and wallet) Macross toy hunt!

I love the look of both of them and I think I could go either way with RK or BBTS.
I'd rather do a single order than wait with POL for now, so maybe RK is the best for me. (fast and quite cheap ;))

Placed these on BBTS preorder a while ago but it's nice to finally see some in-hand images. Both look pretty nice. The only thing I don't dig is Blitzwing's tank mode. Looks VERY hollow at the back, and has gaps. The other modes look pretty decent though. G1 version had a nicer tank mode IMHO though.

I'll reserve my judgment until I've watched some video reviews of these two. Either way I'm committed now and will still be happy to receive that box from BBTS when they finally arrive in stock.

Some videos reviews are up:

Springer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_iZ8k2AFWs)

Blitzwing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRqc5mgTB3g)

Both reviewers are a little bit clumsy imho in that there are bits that aren't transformed correctly/properly. Baltmatrix also did a Blitzwing review where he couldn't get things peg together properly. No one seemed to complain about things not pegging together on the hk-tf forum though so maybe it's a QC issue.

Being triplechangers dictates their over transforming scheme to be quite well though out, yet the designers were still able to pay attention to details and put in some nifty little transformation bits that I really like, i.e. Springer's lower arm and sword, Blitzwing's treads. Some ingenious enginnering indeed.

The Baltmatrix review is cringe worthy when he starts ranting about the problems with the Blitzwing toy, had to press skip many a time during that review.

Peaugh's review is much better he highlights the problems (he at least seems to understand that what he's reviewing is child's toy) without melting down on camera and offers up some solutions.

Man, I hate video reviews. It's completely about ego.

+1. I refuse to even call most of them "reviews," since that word means "a critical article or report; critique; evaluation." Most so-called reviews are just boast videos, as in "Check out this cool toy I've got! Let me show you how it works!" -- okay, but that's NOT a review! Tell us what you like and maybe not like about it, and most importantly why! A lot of reviewers these days remind me of that episode of Simpsons when Homer became a food critic and was giving everything rave reviews.

"Sorry Marge, I'm afraid this gets my lowest rating ever. Seven thumbs up."
^Seriously... that's how most video reviews come off as!

A lot of the better reviewers are the text ones, especially long time reviewers who've been doing since like forever. :p I would recommend:
Ben Yee's World of Transformers (http://www.bwtf.com/toyreviews)
Dave Van Domelen's reviews (http://www.eyrie.org/~dvandom/BW/) (his reviews aren't as current though)
Our own OTCAer dirge's reviews (http://cliffbee.com/reviews/)
And Peaugh (http://www.youtube.com/user/peaugh) is actually one of the better video reviewers out there. I haven't seen his reviews for Blitzwing/Springer yet, but some of his older reviews that I've seen have been alright.

Peaugh's are pretty good. He's fairly impartial. I use them when I am having trouble deciding if a TF is worth the money or not or sometimes for transformation help. His MP Rodimus one is good for that.

But yeah most are a scream for attention and self validation. That Optibotimus guy is one of the worst for ego stroking I have ever seen

Damn straight, couldn't spam the close button fast enough after 20 seconds of his videos.

I usually watch Peaugh's videos for influence my purchase decisions but this time I decided to wait and discover the transformations myself.

Unfortunately Auspost is taking their sweet time

To be honest i dont read or watch any of the reviews, if i see something i like or want i just get it and discover the joy (or frustration) for myself. I used to but then i bought some after reading terrible reviews and i loved them or vice versa. As they say one mans trash is another mans treasure

I think half the fun is finding out everything about the TF for yourself with no pre concieved thoughts or ideas.
