For anyone interested in how the company is going as a whole, the latest financial report from Hasbro has been released, and excerpts have been posted up here (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/hasbro-reports-growth-for-the-first-quarter-2013/27124/).

Overall Hasbro did okay with a 2% growth in revenue while profit grew by 47%. However, the money Hasbro America rakes in from international sales (the commission they make on top of the profit other Hasbro branches makes), is still doing poorly thanks to Europe... which could mean higher prices in non-American countries to bring it back up.

Looking at the breakdown, it shows that the Asia-Pacific region was the best performer out of Europe (-7%), Latin America (+17%) AND North America (+4%), with a 21% increase in earnings. (keep in mind that Asia-Pacific isn't just Australia, it includes Hasbro HK, which has been on the rise in the last 12 months with more and more exclusive items - considering the massive shelfwarming and retailer discounting here in the last 12 months, Australia probably didn't do that good)
Since Europe is the dominant non-American segment (two-thirds of the revenue), their negative growth dragged down their entire international earnings.

It sucks how they just treat everywhere outside North America as the same thing. :( It makes those of us in the Asia-Pacific market feel "punished" for the underperforming sales in Europe. :( I wish they'd "reward" better performing markets by bringing our prices down -- or perhaps just be more egalitarian and adjust prices everywhere to some kind of international median (e.g. if Yanks have been paying $13 for a Deluxe, and the rest of the world's paying $30, then just set it at around $22 for ALL Hasbro markets). This'll mean Americans will pay more (but _still_ not as much as what the rest of us have been paying!), but other markets will pay less.

I don't think capitalism works quite like that. :p

Regardless of international sales, an overall profit increase of 47% is pretty impressive considering revenue only went up 2%.

Where'd they make the cuts to get that??

Don't worry most companies like to treat Australia special, that's why we pay more for so many exciting products, even those we can download online.
