Nice. He seems to look better than MMC's Leo Dux, which has a whole lotta torso going on (may just be an unfortunate angle). I'll be interested to see how the whole set looks when finished.

I'll be sticking with MMC's....got the first 2 pre-ordered with early-bird special and though I like TFCs Leo so far, in the end with colour I always feel that the aesthetic is off, like:

MMC=Lego & TFC=Megablocks (in my opinion, in terms of aesthetics)

Nice analogy, fits pretty nicely specially when you compare Maketoys Giant to TFC Hercules (although not MMC).

Another 3P Predaking can only be good for us. Nothing like a little healthy competition in the market!

If they sat back and waited for UT and MMC to battle it out with their Predakings; there probably won't be many potential buyers left over for them to sell to. These sets are pretty pricey and a lot of collectors will only end up purchasing one of them, so I guess throwing their version into the mix nice and early is probably their best bet at selling the most.

I'm committed to mastermind creations version, it looks almost perfect to me although I might pick up individual figures from other versions. When will someone tackle Abominus or Computron ?

I've gotta admit, it looks pretty nice. If it wasn't for MMCs offerings it'd be a must-have, as it is it's a 'Maybe I'll pick them up if the end result is good and I find them for an OK price'.

Computron is one of the last gestalts I actually need, G1-wise, but I'm curious to see how this guy ends up looking as a modern set of figures - In the browns, whites & reds that comprise his colour palette; should be rather intriguing I reckon. ;):)

That's my main complain about seeing numerous 3rd party takes of the same character(s). It's all good for consumer choice but while they are doing a 3rd Predaking, why not do something else like a Piranacon, Defensor or Monstructor?

If the MMC Predacons didn't exists, I'd probably go for these over the other third party company. They seem to have a good mix of classic and new. I really like Rampage's tiger head sculpt.

+2 - For many of the reasons you've expressed Zed, if TFC's Predacons end up being comparatively cheaper than the other 2 Mob's iterations and the build quality of them is up there - I may just simply go for these. :cool:
(I'd prefer MMC's but they're just WAY too expensive at the moment. :o)

They look pretty average. Headstrong is terrible. Probably won't be as overpriced as their usual combiner releases, given that UT and MMC have their own versions of Predaking up for grabs

though I actually do like headstrong too - its a pretty solid alt mode and the robot mode looks like Rhinox and pulls it off pretty well. just hate the leg mode...

the only thing positive for TFC's Predaking is the fact they're releasing the central figure first instead of last.

I like it, but I think I'll stick with the MMC one. The TFC one has better beast modes and decent robot modes, however MMC has the advantage when combined and in colour and robot articulation. Overall I would probably be happy with either if we had only got one option.

It looks like TFC are going to beat MMC to releasing Razorclaw though.

With all these double ups you'd think someone would start working on Abominus or Piranacon.

Very solid figure and massive as well.
The torso mode for Predaking locks well into place and becomes one solid piece.
:) I'm quite impressed with TFC's quality.

Finally received the 3rd part to ARES :)
Conabus is awesome.
I didn't take pics of him loaded with his weapons but you can clip heaps on this rhino!
Bot and beast modes are awesome... Not a fan of the face sculpt though... Looks a bit too organic for my tastes.
Combination mode is rock solid.
All round articulation even with movable toes, ankle tilt (forward/backwards, side to side), waist, etc.
Looking forward to the other 2 to finally complete this :cool:

Doesn't look too bad actually. Colour scheme is off, but that's what you expect from TFC. I'm glad I went with MMC.

One thing I love over MMC here is the fact that the shoulder cannons can move slightly left and right to give that "upward diagonal angle" look. MMC's can only move up and down.

Yeah... I don't deny that.
In individual bot modes, Nemean is the weakest link in that he doesn't look the part.
He badly needs another head... The current head sculpt doesn't look much like Razorclaw :rolleyes:
Other than that, the Predaking combined mode is awesome.
Seriously rock solid with excellent posability.

I prefer MMC's but credit where credit is due, some of TFC's beast modes are bit more interesting than MMC"S which can be a bit to square. Overall I prefer MMC's aesthetics though. And while I appreciate paint apps TFC's is a little bit too busy.
