Hi Guys,

I am still a bit of a n00b when it comes to Transformers collecting. So I think I picked up a great score at a Brisbane Target store this week. I was doing the rounds checking out what is what, then on an unrelated stand I saw a large DOTM box.

On further inspection it was a Supreme Class Jetwing Optimus DOTM...

The box was slightly water damaged, but at $49.00 I couldn't help myself. It is very cool, actually freaking awesome. Inside only thing not perfect was the transformation instructions.

Yeah, have found some good ones, I just have not pulled the trigger yet, especially the new beast hunters ultra magnus which isn't here yet. Looks like I can get that for so much cheaper that when it comes here (if at all)

When ReGen was announced the last thing I would have ever expected was that a cover would have Huffer fighting Snarler. I don't think I would have imagined that ever appearing on any comic ever.

Re: Collection Vol 8. The Chaos issues by Ramondelli come out really well oversized on glossy paper. One double page spread gets a bit lost though. Also, the James Roberts issues with their smaller font sizes look great at this size too. Can't wait for a MTMTE hardcover or two (although there's been no confirmation of what, when or if Vol 9 will be coming).

Paul, are the hardcovers really worth it, i have always wondered if this format would better suit my bookshelf then the trades, in some instances i really didnt want to quadruple up on the comic...but i might replace/sell my TPB's

I'd say they are better value than the trades (this recent volume for instance reprints for trades for $50). They are well put together, nice quality paper. I like the way the look on the shelf. There is some gutter loss, and the inclusion of more covers as chapter breaks would be good, but otherwise this is my preferred hard copy format. I'm buying digitally for the most part since the delay makes it too hard to follow the series only this way.

I'm hoping that they reprint the Marvel series in this format too like they are doing with Marvel's GIJoe.

The only downside is that you don't get all the covers. That may matter to you, or it may not.

They're better value than the tpbs, in a nice hardcover, OVERSIZED, and just make for a nice presentation when you have multiple volumes.

I absolutely love the two Premiere Editions IDW did, but they're TOO big to read comfortably.

These are the perfect compromise. Really.

I still buy the single issues, and the tpbs, and any other way they release the material, but it's the IDW Collections I turn to, without fail.

I forgot to list that my copy of volume 8 also arrived. Very nice, and I don't care what anyone says, I enjoyed this chunk of Costa's run the most (Chaos Theory of course, but also the Earth story circa 13-18, with the return of Megatron. It's really under-rated, IMO).

Besides the covers, I really can't see a single thing to dislike about them.

Oh wait. The idiotic chronology that they're organising the material, but that's not really an issue for current volumes, and you can always flit back and forth between volumes if you'd prefer. It was always a mistake to do the material chronologically, because some stuff is ambiguous, some just doesn't fit (looking at you, Spotlight Mirage), and because their reading order was screwed by the time the books were out, as it's not like the early days are never getting revisited.

Publication date would have been MUCH more sensible to start with. And that's what they have to do now anyway, unless they're going to release negative numbered volumes (although a volume zero would cover it for the moment, it'd be just as short-sighted).

My dream would be for expanded volumes in this format - Regeneration One would make a great single large volume, and I'd love to see them do two Dreamwave volumes. One containing the 2 and a half War Withins and the MTMTE profiles, and the other containing the two present day miniseries and the third ongoing volume, plus the summer special. It won't and can't happen, but even with the shortened material they can use, I'd be thrilled. Frankly, War Within 1 and 2 deserve the deluxe treatment.

And they could do Marvel US in 4 volumes, with an extra volume for RG1.

I can dream...

My last order, despite their claim of bulletproof packaging was literally cushioned with 2 sheets of newspaper scrunched around the items. The one before had butchers paper and two little bits of styrofoam. The shipping dented a few boxes, luckily i was opening them, but it's made me a bit wary of their standards if i'm looking at having a MISB product.

No problems for me with the packaging as it always comes with the big bubble wrap. Although my parcels are always in big boxes as I try to take advantage of the reduced shipping. Here's my haul so far so June, I was dying to get a Unicron, but never had the space or monies for the Amazon/ Armada one, so I got the hover tank version for a good deal and got Cybertron Soundwave (minus Laserbeak), Cybertron Scattershot and a Beast Machines Tank Drone thrown in. Also got Hatchet for a good deal at Woolies, it didn't scan so I had to get a price check, I think it should have been $16-ish but I think the person checking the price was a bit apathetic because it came in at $7, not bad for a toy I think was scalped and I never saw in my area at the time it was supposed to be released.

Got G2 Deluge today for $2.45. :D Also finally found an action figure of the Seventh Doctor as he appeared when he removed Death's Head from the Transformers universe. :) (it's a surprisingly hard figure to find!)

After much searching I finally picked up YOTS Platinum edition Omega Supreme yesterday from Big W. He is an impressive looking figure. They went with a mustard colour instead of yellow, which I think works ok for the best, but the box art of the figure has yellow parts. So I think he really needs some yellow! Price was $98. Kreo Combiners. Wave 1. The idea of minifigs combining sounded terrible but these were executed really well. Articulation is the best part about these little guys.

Haven't posted my purchases during this month so getting in before the new one: picked up the Kre-O Devastator and Street Showdown sets from Amazon (though even on sale, it was the most expensive 3 Kreons I've bought so far - given they were all I really wanted out of the sets :rolleyes:) and YOTS Omega Supreme. That's great. In my local, all the sales assistant did was scan the items on the $20 shelf and said sorry to the customer because TFPrime Megs was $49 and none of the other toys there was $20. There were no more weaponizer toys available.

No worries. Don't forget that there's loads of different sellers at Botcon and prices do vary between them. Skyquake is incredibly rare (saw a grand total of 4 being sold at Botcon) which explains his $60 price tag.

Picked these up on Sunday at TRU chatswood. The small amount saved with the 20% discount over the cheap undiscounted price at Kmart wasn't worth the time stress and struggle of getting in and out of the shopping centre. when I could have picked it up at Kmart on Thursday night for maybe 4$ differnce each.
