$30USD dearer than RK too  Ouchies.

Really? Hmmm, I'll have to weigh up getting it posted by itself from RK vs gettting it posted as part of a POL from BBTS

BBTS remain my backup plan, purely due to their shipping costs to AU.

Other than that, their customer service is awesome and it's purely because its cheaper to order from Asia (RK) than BBTS, especially when its one item I'm after.

Good opportunity for those who have missed this guy but makes for one hell of an expensive deluxe figure if you order it on its own

Cheapest shipping they offer is $19.74 (regular airmail) giving a grand reaming <cough> total of $44.73 US ($58.82 AUD - today's rates)

If someone were to buy like ten grooves tho it'd work out to something like $41-45 each shipped? Might be worthwhile then?

Got their usual clearance sale happening. A nice new feature is that you can surf the sale by toy line - a few ok deals on there I'd take advantage of if I hadn't just blown my tf budget

It's been two months since I was browsing BBTS, but I noticed today that they have had a major overhaul of their site, but the new layout seems to be just as much of a mixed up jumble as the old layout... but it does give more search options on the side, if there was a product category that was big enough to need the extra search filters.

I haven't shopped at BBTS in Ages, the dollar has made it fairly unattractive and I can get all the Japanese release product cheaper from Japanese sources, unsurprisingly. I used to make very good use of the POL lasting 6 months. The Monolith that used to turn up at work :D:cool:

maybe I should give them another go. I'm not sure I'm a fan of their new look and interface.

According to a new listing at BBTS (https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/55685), there could be a reissue of the 2010 TakaraTomy Gen1 Predaking "reissue" toy later this month (July)... or it could just be some old stock found or acquired from a wholesaler. (it would have been listed on JP or Asian sites ages ago if this was a new run)
It has a price of US$180.

I haven't bought in ages, like you the AUD was a hinderance as well as the postage that first slug makes you groan, but adding more on doesn't seem like too much of a biggie. Usually it takes me something I see that I must have, and once that POL gate is open then more gets added in quick succession.

This time the Siege on Cybertron set was the thing that tipped me over the edge. Since then I have added the Seaspray and Cosmos wave and have had on at least 3 occasions sale items sitting in the basket ready but pulled out some of the 3P sale items are looking attractive.

But now with only 77 days left, I may need to add a few more items whoops :D

Honestly from the tone of their response to me when I enquired with them was they were not taking the GST law seriously. For every site like Amazon or HLJ that takes it seriously there's going to be dozens that say FU to the law. If they maintain their tone I think BBTS will not be implementing any changes and despite the government's threats to block sites that don't collect GST it will actually be unenforceable just like the blocking of The Pirate Bay.

Now the question for the mathematicians amongst us. BBTS has always remained feasible here due to that even with postage and currency conversion it cost equal or slightly less to get entire waves through them than buying locally. Is that about to be destroyed? :(

Now the question for the mathematicians amongst us. BBTS has always remained feasible here due to that even with postage and currency conversion it cost equal or slightly less to get entire waves through them than buying locally. Is that about to be destroyed? :(

The cheapest option is TLTC for sure. BBTS is similar to TLTC on Hasbro products before shipping and without GST. I have not used BBTS in years so I'm not sure what shipping will be like compared to TLTC for the same amount of items, but it will be higher since TLTC charges a flat $15 per order.

BBTS has always been a bad choice for Takara products because you are paying import into America. HLJ, NY, etc have always been the better choice for Takara.

My quick back of the napkin math says before shipping BBTS will be similar to slightly higher than TLTC on Hasbro products going forward.

But keep in mind not everyone is confident in TLTC. Some people think they are the next PC. That said I use TLTC for much of my TF shopping. They have been in business for over a decade, they just need to communicate better as to shipping delays. I've always gotten what I ordered from them.

But BBTS has impeccable customer service on the other hand so it might be worth paying that little extra to use them.

I'm trying BBTS for the first time in years with my POTP Wave 3 preorders. I'll see how things go.

my biggest frustration with BBTS has been having to buy an entire case, which often has doubles to get certain shortpacked figures. I still have left over deluxes from years ago when I was buying from BBTS that I couldn't sell at a reasonable price. Every year I drop a couple in a Christmas giving box somewhere.

TLTC allow individual selection of figures which is a great advantage. I am having trouble getting one takara figure out of them, it seems to be slipping month on month and was generally released in December I think. I've received everything else I've ordered from them.

Have you checked the tracking? Sometimes packages ship over here in the usual time frame but then get held up in Australian customs, and it might take anywhere from a couple days to a couple of weeks before it's on the way to you again. I've had it happen to me here and there, and the weird thing is it's not because the item is prohibited or they've opened it for inspection, it literally has been sitting at customs, just because reasons.

BBTS might try to blame it on Chinese New Year or something, but their postage has become horrible! This is the experience I had last year:

Well obviously there Customer Service department remain as ignorant as ever. 6 months ago they were giving me info about the new GST system that even I knew was wrong. Now they don't have a clue about postage!

Tried to convince me, at the 10 day mark of waiting for my express package, that the reason I had not received any tracking updates was that the updates halt when making their way through Aussie customs and my item would be there. However I got an update at the 12 day mark saying that the item had finally left the US. So it wasn't even in our country yet

I know that the CS department for an online toy store isnt going to comprise the greatest of minds, but they could at least occasionally get something right.

The annoying thing is, I put the order in in plenty of time for it to reach me for Xmas. Yet it took BBTS 3 days to even process and post the order (HLJ does within the hour) and then their '9 to 12 business days' amounted to squat as it took 11 days for it even to leave their shores. So much for the value of paying for the top level of express international postage :(

Oh I replied to their email telling them all the info they told me was completely incorrect. I got another email back from them, with zero acknowledgement that they had got it wrong, and in fact telling me that mailing times were only estimates (and directing me to a very obscure page of theirs I'm sure noone has ever read) and I should have known that.

In fact they finished it off with 'If you want items by Christmas you should have ordered them to be mailed in November':mad:

It pleasantly takes less than a week to receive my pile of loot orders from BBTS.

However, USPS/FEDEX may occasionally hold up the parcel - that delays it by an additional 2 weeks from my experience.

Track it for more info.

Refracktor has just gone on preorder for $21.99(us). Due in July.

I preordered 3 just in case these become hard to find because everyone wants 3 to make up the full trio and camera mode.

I was just checking out BBTS last night to see if they had some upcoming exclusives listed yet, and found that their sale page has (https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Search?HidePreorder=true&HideSoldOut=true&PageSize=50&SortOrder=Discount&Brand=1971) quite a few cheap "freebie" items, like the bonus coins from Asia (for Masterpiece and Combiner boxsets), and Japanese Microns (given out at stores with minimum purchases)... for those who collect those sorts of things. Buying up a few of the items that were 50% off or better, offset the expensive postage.

In the past 72 hours, I've gotten POL notifications for Lancer, Wave 4 Battlemasters and Wave 4 Micromasters. I'll have them shipped next week and see how BBTS handles that.

I got the usual monthly newsletter email from them the other day. They may still be taking orders but not sending out stuff during lockdown? No idea.

Haven’t ordered from these guys before but preordered an item and purchased another item in pile of loot but i have a question about shipping

How dose FedEx International option ship
1)fully FedEx all the way ? (From America to Australia)
Or
2)uses USPS to ship to Australia ?
Or
3)FedEx all the way till it reaches Australia then uses Australia Post for final mile delvery?
If the 3rd option dose it tell you the Australia Post tracking no in tracking what was sent?

I’m just curious how is ships before choosing fedex option

Ive been buying off them for years & whichever option I've used, it's always ended with an Aust Post delivery.
You also get a tracking # which you can use through AP once it lands

PS: You can also track it from their end through USPS/ FED EX until it arrives. The option is available in your My Acount section.

I always choose the Fed Ex option and it’s Fed Ex all the way. From the U.S to Perth.

hi, can anyone tell me what is the shipping charges like for BBTS?

Thinking of buying some things but when I try msg the site they never get back to me on what it costs to get something shipped, so for example if I ordered like 4 origins he man figure, what might I expect to pay on shipping + taxes?

Best to just try run the order through to the point of shipping rates.

Yep BBTS one of the best for allowing you to see shipping rates easily, don't even have go through any part of checkout; just add the items to your cart > view cart > bottom left corner select your location, and they'll show you estimates for a bunch of options.

MP-52+ Thundercracker on sale on BBTS (https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/147214) for USD170. For today only. Not sure whether it's still cheap when postage cost is taken into consideration, though.
