Reflector has been portrayed quite differently over the years, especially for essentially a background character. So which version of Reflector do you prefer or do you believe to be the proper incarnation?

1: The mind-linked triplets.

*Prevalent during season 1 of the cartoon. Almost non-existent during season 2 of the cartoon. Showed up to watch Devastator bash stuff in the animated movie. Extra Reflectors showed up now and then in season 1 but can be put down to animator laziness.

*Tend to talk as one like the rubber aliens from Toy Story. As well as combining to form a camera can also team up to take down an enemy acrobatic style.

*All 3 have an identical look, the only exception being Viewfinder has a shutter in his torso.

*In the Transformers: Legends game grouped as essentially one indivdual

*In the IDW universe: When on earth spoke as one, even to the point that the member absent from the other two’s activities was repeating what they were saying.

2: Individual Bots that combine

*3 individual bots: Spectro, Spyglass & Viewfinder that make up the Reflector team. Each one looks different from the other two in robot mode and they combine into a camera alt mode.

*Mainly shown in the DW universe. In the tech specs books each one got his own biography and personality. When on Cybertron worked as a team but spoke separately.

*In the GI Joe crossover by Devils Due Publishing were part of the same team but looked like their individual toy robot modes rather than identical and could speak separately.

*In the Keepers Trilogy books, each had fully developed personalities and for the most part worked independently of the other two.

*In the IDW universe: When crash landing on whatever planet Wheelie was on spoke separately and had conversations with each other. Still had nearly identical bodies though.

*The toy has all 3 looking quite different from each other in robot mode.

So which Reflector reflects the true Reflector for you?

For me, being the central-minded triplets was always the one for me, as it's the Reflector I grew up with and the other just seems foreign to me. ;)

They're like the Arcee bikes in ROTF... 3 separate individuals yet they share an intense bond. Or like Optimus Prime's 3 components, only that each component is actually individually sentient/sapient (whereas only Prime's cab/robot component is sapient/sentient - as demonstrated in Brasnya where Prime was able to save himself by temporarily transferring his sentience to Combat Deck)

I like a variety of interpretations. I'm happy to go with an individual author's portrayal. Bonus points if they manage to refer to different interpretations in a logical and consistent way, too.

I just read Spotlight: Wheelie yesterday, I really like the way they are portrayed as a group of thugs.

Well it's cool that we are finally gettin another Reflector toy (the targetmaster partner for the new Skrapnel). Interesting that he is coloured like one of the triplets but will be an individal bot.

I wonder, considering in the cartoon their were multiple Shrapnels and mulitiple Reflectors, how many people plan on buying 3. If I found them ultra cheap I know I would :p

A combination of the two!!! They speak and act individually, yet know what the others a saying or doing at any given time, so when attacking they can do the whole acrobatic style combat thing reading each others minds.

Even as a kid I found the idea of Reflector silly. 3 transformers that combine into a... camera. How underwhelming. I tolerate G1 Megatron turning into a gun but that is too much.
