Im so happy how this has turn out..... first time using Alclad 2 chrome ....it great stuff... look at the mirror finish ...!
Guess you going to see alot more chrome on my custom from now on ..:)
Was also planing to repaint ultra magnus as well but my FirstAid kit came today so going to do that first before i start on UM ...

I just cant believe how good this looks... going to finish of the forge of solus tomorrow by colouring it clear yellow ...
wip pic....
got to start it of with an enamel based gloss black...let it dry fully before adding the chrome...

Clear coating will reduce the chrome effect. Best to just leave it as is.

That chrome coat (before the gold) reminds me of the old chrome parts on G1 transformers. What type of paint / technique did you use? It might be possible to rechrome old chipped g1'ers?

That really does look super sexy. now you're going to have to Chrome your Ultramagnus so it doesn't look like a second hand knockoff when holding the forge.:D

Yeah it should be possible because it just paint ....i just use an air brush ...paint is Alclad 2 chrome (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271214117674?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649) .... , just have to gloss black enamel it first before the alcald chrome coat ...

There's a hobby shop near me (in the Melbourne's South East) that sells the Alclad stuff. Can't you get it in Sydney?

Maybe call up a local hobby shop (or find one with a facebook page, like Melbourne Hobby Centre) and see if they can post it to you? Even if it's coming from interstate it's gotta be cheaper than that.

http://www.bnamodelworld.com/ have it for ~$13.50 + postage within Australia. :)
