Prototype/Samples of Chrome Seekers

The UK fansite "Spacebridge' has revealed some more unreleased Hasbro images, this time the Reissue Seekers (one has the Megatron gun) done fully chromed - Starscream, Thundercracker, Sunstorm, and an unknown silver one (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/generation-1-1/generation-1-unreleased-chrome-seeker-prototypes-177957/).

It is being suggested that they were just produced as competition pieces (like the gold chrome Lucky Draw toys), but might have never been used, as no one seems to recall any competitions in the last 10 years for these.

Why release these only now? Perhaps he had an agreement in place to wait a certain time before he could release them for 'public view'. Still quite cool but isn't it a bit weird collectors who keep this sort of cool stuff to themselves rather than sharing with the community, who in general love and appreciate seeing this sort of stuff.
