Okay, details of the finale movie have been posted up with the pre-order for the DVD & bluray (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-prime-39/predacons-rising-dvd-blu-ray-cover-art-and-story-synopsis-178018/)... and it tells us a number of things that happens in episode 13 of this season.


A resurrected UNICRON has taken over the now-lifeless body of MEGATRON to seek vengeance on the AUTOBOTS and ultimately, the destruction of Cybertron. This formidable enemy forces an unlikely alliance between the AUTOBOTS, DECEPTICONS, PREDAKING and two new Predacons, who come together in an epic battle to help protect their newly restored planet!

Well... it certainly explains one of the Cmdr class toys coming out at the end of the year (Unicron Megatron). It's certainly a plot spoiler now, but the name originally just looked like a random prefix being added to a redeco toy.

DVD is out in America October 8th, and on bluray October 1st. It doesn't sound like it will be aired on TV any time soon (in America).

(looks like I guessed the title correctly, a few months back, assuming that the Target Exclusive line was the name of the movie it was being released for)

So is this like an epilogue to the prime? (Something Animated never got and really deserved.) I hope Hasbro makes an announcement soon on the new series replacing prime.

Both DC and Marvel have successful animated movie lines, DC more-so. I am very surprised that Transformers haven't jumped onto this platform until now.

By reading between the lines of the Prime and 30th anniversary panels it looks like the new transformers series will be a continuation of Prime with most if not all characters returning. Fingers crossed it is as this is a good series (needs more characters though).

Hopefully it will be mostly on Cybertron. Footage from the trailer seems to increase my hopes.

Is this related to the Dawn of the Beast DVD (http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/target-exclusive-transformers-prime-beast-hunters-dawn-of-the-beast-dvd/28179/) that is a Target exclusive? I haven't started watching Beast Hunters yet, and want to watch the series in order

That just looks to be the opening episodes/story-arc of Season 3 (based on the description).

I was hoping for Sharkticon Megatron... which would likely get me to get the voyager toy.

It's rumoured that the next series will be 2D animation, which would make it cost effective to add more transformers to the cast.

The US airdate has now been announced (http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-prime-39/predacons-rising-movie-to-air-on-hub-network-on-october-4th-178311/) - October 4th on the HUB, which will mean the DVD will be released 4 days after that for anyone who missed it or want a legal copy of their own.
