They're even cooler in person :D
The commander with magnetic feet refers to the itty-bitty pilot figure. Takara briefly sold these in the US market as Diakron before they were relaunched as Transformers.
Here's one for the history buffs: Half Lamborghini, half robot. The Cosmo Countach (http://www.kaikodo.net/by4/653.html).

Heh, I actually played with red Sunstreaker before yellow Sunstreaker IRL. There was a kid at my school who had a red Sunstreaker; no idea what the package was because he brought it to school loose. He told us all that it was a rare/special variant... we weren't sure whether or not to believe him (he was known to tell a lot of tall tales) - and frankly, I didn't care. I wanted a yellow Sunstreaker (and a yellow Sunstreaker was what I naturally got ;)).

Got Blight today, thanks to dirge and Easy D.
Also got the Kenji Urban G1#80 tee shirt (http://otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=371523&postcount=3918) :)

This is a combo of the stuff I listed on Monday, plus what arrived on Friday. First time for photos though.

Repeat of what was in Monday's shipment: Construct-Bots Ironhide, Starscream, and triple-changer Bumblebee

Botcon Rainmakers set (FINALLY A CLASSICS SUNSTORM!)

Gen Deluxes 'Thrilling 30' wave 1 - Orion Pax, Megatron, Trailwhatever, and Bumblebee

Kre-O Combiners wave 2 - Defensor, Abominus, and Piranhacon

And some Star Wars stuff: Star Wars Black 6 inch series 1, plus a few extras (can't wait to open them)

4 inch Black Scout Troopers x a couple (I have an addiction for them)

And here's what arrived on Friday: Construct-A-Bots Elite Series 01 - Set of 2 (Soundwave & Wheeljack) plus an extra WJ

Sixshot Asian Exclusive Metallic Color Redeco Collector Coin

Transformers Generations 2013 Volume 01 - Book (AWESOME. One of the best volumes yet. These are always a treat).

They also had some older Generations volumes on a great clearance price.

Transformers Generations 2012 Volume 01 - Book

Transformers Generations 2011 Volume 01 - Book

I already had these, but for the price for they were (about $22 for the pair, an INSANELY good price) I grabbed an extra set, thinking that someone on here would surely snap them up. I've offered them to someone I owe a favour to, if they don't want them, then I'll offer them up to the board at cost. These things are essential collectibles, IMO, regardless of whether or not you can read the language (I can't).

I also received a Reprolabels order, quicker than usual, which was a nice surprise. A mix of faction symbols and upgrade kits for a few 3rd party bots and RTS Prowl. They also threw in some freebie 'Cybertron Glow' symbols.
I appreciate the freebie, but these things are pretty hideous. Maybe for some of the outrageously coloured G2 guys, or largely translucent figures it'd work, otherwise just no.

Here's some pics:

Years ago, I paid a substantial sum of money for my original MIB Fort Max. Even though he was 100% complete, I always felt he was missing something. He needed his Master Sword. I really didn't want to get him a repro sword (I felt a repro sword was beneath him) but then TakTom re-issued him. Finally I could get him an official sword, a genuine sword.

Behold - his encore Master Sword:

& now he's officially complete. :)

That sword is actually an encore sword I found on ebay. With all the reproduction swords being manufactured in the last few years, they looked nice but I was hesitant in getting one of those. For me - it had to be a genuine sword or nothing. & when they announced that Encore Fort Max was gonna have his mastersword - that's when I knew that I could finally complete my Fort Max.

Thanks Mate! Being that I see them everyday, I don't get that excited anymore (especially since obtaining my 2 holy grails that were incredibly hard to find) but it sure is nice when my humble collection brings a smile to fellow collectors' faces. :)

Sure. Anyone in particular you'd like me to focus on?

For some reason I got allocated one set instead of the two I'd ordered.

I did get an extra R2, and have some extra Lukes on the way.

I of course, need more sandtroopers. Don't know what my options will be there. I have a feeling they'll be a bit X-ey on eBay.

This is the info on those two clearanced Generations volumes I picked up, for anyone whose unfamiliar with them. Like I said, I already have both, but bought them thinking that someone on this board would love to have them for that price. They're too good to pass up at full price, let alone this heavily discounted. (Under 20% of Regular Price).

Still waiting to hear back from the person I owe a favour to who has dibs, otherwise I'll put them up here. They'll be for cost, I'm not looking to make anything off them. I just thought these were insanely good prices, and someone would love to add these to their collections.

One was about $9US, the other about $13. That's crazy cheap for these books. I've never seen them that cheap.

Here's some info: Their normal price is around $40-$80, edging towards the higher end once you factor in shipping, higher if you still want the coupon included for the exclusive figure.

I have extras of Generations 2011 volume 1 (there were 2 volumes released that year. See here for contents http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers_Generations_2011 )

And Generations 2012 (only one volume released last year). http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Transformers_Generations_2012

I'm pretty sure they've had the coupon removed, I haven't checked, and it's 2am and I'm too lazy to get out of bed to check right now, but that doesn't matter as the offers are expired by now anyway.(That last sentence was obviously sent from bed last night, I still haven't checked them, but either way, with the offers expired, it's not like it matters, and coupn removal does nothing to any content of the books anyway.)

One even includes a poster, which is pretty neat, and I'd forgotten about that.

The prices for these were insanely cheap, which is why I grabbed them. For both, the cost was just under $22US.

So if you are interested in these, and don't mind that someone else has first dibs, feel free to send me a msg about them.

And I'll happily plug this year's volume. One of the best yet, and DAMN concept Metroplex looked even more badass, and MP Prowl just couldn't be any more perfect (okay okay, besides the addition of a pair of toy launchers).

I'll only be opening Luke and R2 at this stage, seeing I have extras for them, but got shorted for Maul and the Sandtrooper.

This one's a bit of a story.

If you remember, a while back I bought some Robot Heroes hardcopies, including one of the unproduced Prowl.

Last month I received a PM out of the blue from TinyJazz. She'd been browsing on eBay, and saw an unproduced Attacktix Prowl test shot, and shot me a message in case I was interested. Incredibly thoughtful thing to do, and I'm very grateful for that.

Unfortunately, I didn't see the message in time, and the auction sold for a total of $19.50. That just rubbed salt in the wound, as I would have paid a lot more than that, damnit!

Seeing I had nothing to lose, I sent the seller a message, and asked if he just happened to have any more of these available, seeing they're test shots, or if not, could we somehow finagle the seller into putting the buyer into contact with me, and seeing if we can strike up a separate deal. What the hell, I had nothing to lose, right?

The seller actually replied, and told me that he couldn't put me in touch with the buyer (not surprising, that was a heck of a long shot), BUT that he had another one he could sell me if I wanted, for $24US including shipping.

No photos, no additional info, just a one line message. I sent a follow-up asking a bit more about it, and the seller just said 'it's like the current one'. (The seller is in Hong Kong, so English may not be his primary form of communication).

Not a lot to go on. No reason to even believe he had another. But bugger it, for $24 it was worth a gamble.

The seller sent me a tracking number within 24 hours. Okay, that's promising.

It arrived today, along with other parcels I've yet to open.

So...the million dollar question..... WHAT'S IN THE BOX?! (I couldn't use the full Se7en quote there, forgot about the naughty word).

http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m80/KJ_81/IMG_5360s_zps8f767e29.jpg

Nervous, with suspense so thick it almost rivalled the fumes from the traffic on the main road outside, I opened it up, and found.....THIS!

http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m80/KJ_81/IMG_5368s_zps712c6ce5.jpg

http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m80/KJ_81/IMG_5374s_zps1966a1d9.jpg

Yep, it's a totally legit unproduced Attacktix Prowl test shot. Missing the missile, but who cares about that?

I'm absolutely thrilled to add this piece to my collection, and it's all thanks to TinyJazz. I'm indebted to her, and owe her BIGTIME. It all came about from her random act of kindness, and I'm so very grateful for that.

Cheers for TinyJazz!!

Nice one Cat:).
I'd love to get my hands a test shot / prototype one day.

Test shots can be surprisingly cheap. Remember that a small run is made, so there's generally a few out there.

Hardcopies are more expensive, for obvious reasons. Rarer, too.

But it depends what you want.

Right now on eBay you can get Robot Heroes test shots for $15. They're unpainted in correct colours.

The wackier and more different the colours are to the real toy, the more they tend to go for.

And try and watch the market. Test shots for figures not yet released will always go for more money, as there's always those people who have to have them first.

After the toys hit mass release, the prices drop.

As with everything, it's a mix of supply and demand.

But there's nothing wrong with starting small and cheap, and working your way up. ;)

I gotta ask. What were your 2 holy grails??

These guys (http://www.microforever.com/MC08&MC09.htm). I'd been searching that site for quite a while & when I stumbled across those two, I luved them from the very first moment I laid my eyes on them. I just knew I had to get my hands on them - one day. & so the hunting began. They just never seemed to pop up on ebay. & when they eventually did pop up, the first auction went for over $800. Because I had no idea what they were worth, I kinda put that holy grail on the backburner. A few months later, another auction went up & I managed to snag it for less than half of what that first auction went for. A few years passed & I spied the second one up for auction. After a bit of a bidding duel, I thought I'd lost it but then the seller informed me that a troll had been bidding crazy prices on his auctions & by the time he'd banned the troll, I was the only genuine bidder left standing - & I won that auction for less than half of what I paid for the first one. The day I finally got my hands on that second cassette was the happiest I've ever felt as a collector. :)

& just incase you might like to see some proof... http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn204/Pulse_Warrior/Random/LOL.gif

I ordered a lot of crap. Apparently it seemed like a good idea at the time (glares at sleeping tablets).

http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m80/KJ_81/IMG_5380s_zps956a8d6c.jpg

In this pile of stupidity and general disappointment (exaggerating, some stuff should be neat):

Transforming Collections book by Phillip Reed. I wasn't planning on getting this, but decided I'd rather spend the money and shelve it with my reference books than not get it.

MP13 Soundwave coin.

Hasbro G1 Sideswipe reissue - It was cheap. I still regret this, as I already have more than one of this figure. Headed for the sale section, methinks.

Kre-O Microchangers - Acid Wing and Vehicon. FINALLY completed my wave 2 set. FINALLY.

Construct-Bots Ironhide - an extra to put on my computer desk.

Cap-Bots Red And Blue Guy - don't even know if it's actually Optimus. Again, it was cheap, and it's something different.

Gears Of War Upgrade Set - I bought this solely for the shoulder launchers for Mirage, Sideswipe, and Red Alert. If anyone wants the other parts, like a ladder for Inferno, an ?Auto-Scout? and whatever else is in here, LMK and I'll give a really good deal to get rid of it.

I stocked up on WSTF's to eventually bulk out my Metroplex display. I got: Hot Rod - he's real, I believe

The rest are HeroesToys ones - G2 Starscream
G2 Ramjet
Sunstorm
Thundercracker
Skywarp
Dirge
G1 Ramjet
Sideswipe
Launcher and gun for Red Alert
Deep Cover
Tiger Track
Assemble-Yourself kits of a clear red and a clear black Bumblebee. Should be a bit of fun to mix and match.

And to top it off, Marvel Legends Jean Grey. Just because I've waited over 10 years for that costume to be done in Marvel Legends, damnit.

*Yes, I kinda screwed up by buying a heap of Seekers when my goal was to display them with Metroplex. Oops.

Directly from his site.

Very reasonably priced, shipping was fast and well-packed.

Just be careful: you'll go away with a lot more than you'd planned on buying! Especially if you're a sucker for Seekers: there are 2 packs that are a great deal and contain corkers like G2 Ramjet, G2 Starscream, and of course Sunstorm.

If you're looking to add Skywarp too, note there's two different versions of him, so pick your favourite look.

The whole experience buying directly from him was pleasant, and the experience surpassed my expectations.

They through in some free sheets of Bot and Con logos of assorted sizes. Nice as a freebie, and they're large sheets so you get a lot of stickers. The quality isn't up to the standard of Reprolabels, but it's certainly a gesture that's appreciated.

Quite happy with this one. Condition is even better than I was expecting. Joints are tight, and the figure is in excellent condition! My poor photography skills just can't really showcase it that well, especially with those colours washing out some of the detail that's there. Trust me, this thing is superb!

Really nice colours in person, and like I said, in utterly fantastic condition, especially for what it is!!

Scourge and perceptor, I think.
I have the list in my phone and every time I go to a big W I pick one up. gives me something to buy when there's nothing else on the shelf to bring home. They seem to be stocking these really well at the moment so I'm not too worried about missing out.

Just comics for me today, which was fine as it was a big week with 4 releases, and is the only reason I'm mentioning it here, in case others didn't know (especially about the Classics US volume).

RG1 94 (always get cover B), MTMTE 20, BH 4 (sub cover, which was nice, nice little story there), and TF Classics vol 5.

That there is a cool acquisition accompanied by a very cool acquisition story.
thanks for the read Cat, and kudos to TinyJazz.

A European packaging variant of the Premium deluxe, from Norway! The "allspark power" backing card makes the toy really pop, it's so cool in person. Also Mr. May 2008 and yes, I Can Read!. (I know some of you were a bit worried :p .)
Guido Guidi did the interiors, and it would have been nice if they'd used his art on the cover instead of the creepy visor-less render. Kids and marketing, what can you do?

http://i709.photobucket.com/albums/ww93/tinyJazz/au02_zps5903fc90.jpg

The newest vintage additions to Party Central (cocktail napkins, essential!), plus a roller stamp in variant packaging, loose stamp bot variants and a Hasbro decoy.

This sounds kinda dumb, but I'm totally going to read "Peril from the Stars". I used to love choose your own adventure stories when I was a kid, I probably tried to write one about dragons when I was nine or something. Anyway, apparently it's really easy to get Jazz (and yourself) killed in the book. :/

Modern stuff. The botshots are from HTS. The TLS Vinyl is great! I'm so impatient to ship my POL to get the others. They're the perfect size and way better than mighty muggs in every way. He doesn't seem interested in holding his gun very well though.

I don't care much for Starscream, but that machine embroidery on the logo is amazing. Anyway, the real reason I bought the snapback is this:

I found my Jazz stamp a couple of months back and thought "I wonder if TinyJazz would want this" and put it aside.

I recall Jazz being a bit creepy at the start of Peril from the Stars but can't recall how long it's been since I actually read it.
If it was less than 5 years ago, go to page 13. If it was more than 5 years ago, go to page 18.

Thanks Paul :o Is it the roller stamp? Because I'm still looking for a loose one.

I think it's funny how Jazz tends to creep on the humans a bit in the comics as well. Everyone's seen the panel in "Man of Iron" where he kidnaps a little kid, but the stuff on the page before. Man, I'm not surprised they sent him to the moon at the end of season 2!
