Wow! Your TFs seem to be spread into just about every room but there's so much cardboard/plastic in those pics as well...

& I've got the perfect remedy for that...

For someone who said she was cutting out buying TFs completely due to moving, you've certainly amassed a huge collection. I'd love to see how many you'd have if you were had free spending on TFs.

For some reason, I have an itching to get at that collection with a hobby knife...

Fantastic Collection Mel!

I like how you take pride in displaying them in their boxes at different angles and such. It makes it look like a professional toy display.

Thanks for the general nice comments guys. :)

Nicely organised. Do guests think you're moonlighting as a tf trader? :p
Hehe no, I get the usual WOW.. looks from them , but I just say I'm a transformers fan and I am CRAZY about them. :p

Open open open open.........

:o Ermm most of them were already in the collection photos taken the last time (Sometime Sep 2007). But yeah I guess I can't help myself, TFs just send me crazy and even when I'm broke, I have to buy'em  And you're right griffin, IF I had free spending money, you'll probably see TFs from out of this world. I will open them guys, just that I wanna get proper glass case for them when we move into our own house in future. Most of them "came out for a run" before and were put back in. :p

Thanks Kup, I always try and re-arrange them again once I buy like 5-6 new items and I find I have no place to put them.

Bro, when you wanna unpack them? I can help you.. hehe And liegeprime, thanks, I just realised the blooper I made at the cybertron pics. :D

Thanks Ben. My carded figures are blu-tacked to the wall, I think your thumbtack idea is better cause mine sometimes drop, but then I'm renting, so no holes on the walls. I didn't count how many sealed figures I have. :p

Oh No...

I think we may have pushed Mel too far with all this talk of box cutters...

I can sense that niceness of Mel's is starting to wear a little thin...

Instead of using the box cutter to open packaging, She'll probably end up using it to remove one of our kidneys... :o :D

I am a bit like that too, I open my toys carefully with the intention of been able to place them back in package and display them. However in practice I never do, I carefully open the package but I never ever place the figure back unless I am transporting it.

Only ones I've ever really consider these for are Galaxy Force and Titanium and especially in the case of Titanium b/c so frequently the toys are pretty average that they look better in packaging.

The only boxes I've kept are my G1s/Reissues & my MPs.

Every other backing card/box has gone "bye bye" as soon as the TF imprisoned inside of it has been set free... :)

I normally end up transporting the toy and the box separately... :o

Very nice setup you have there, Seeing collections setup in similar styles to how you have always makes me envious because they do look good when the layout looks like a toy store.

And very nice work on the replacing of figures back into their packaging, I'm far too lazy to ever try and bother with doing that!

JuzMel
21st July 2008, 02:33 PM
Haha guys, don't worry about it, I'm kinda used to the teasing I get around here and yeah STL and Iceburn are correct, I've probably opened more than 50% of them, I just put them back into the box neatly re-packed. There was once I sold a pair of Movie Ratchet & Ironhide to iceburn and I told him I opened it before, he was like "Are you sure you opened them before? They looked like they haven't been touched!"

As for "toy shop like" displays, I guess its a girly thing and I like things neatly arranged. Plus I don't leave them opened cause I don't like them getting dusty. I only open those that are in concealed boxes like MPs, otherwise I think the they look pretty neat displayed in their packaging. Plus it boils down to the fact between Hasbro and Takara packaging again; in that Hasbro doesn't have collector friendly packaging.

And I did mention to DD before, when I can move to my permanent house in future, I'm gonna have a transformers rooms and create "battle scenes" or "cartoon scenes" in glass displays (Remind me whats that term about creating these scenes called again DD). THEN they will finally "run free". :D

DIORAMA, that's right DD and 1orion, thats what I'm talking about! :)

Not trying to be mean, but I'm kinda bored of "figures-on-the-shelves" displays; I like some creativity on how my figures are displayed... thus the current diplays and I do a re-arrangement every now and then when I get new figures and also by keeping them MIB, it's challenge on how to arrange them so each can be identified.

You're right valkyrie, I need more G1s. I'm collecting all the encores, but not too keen on original 80s one cause I have a few which have loose parts and its a pain to fix them. Will keep looking for re-issues though.

BEAST WARs! NEVER NEVER NEVER will stray into them.. Sorry but they are "fugly" (to me) :p . TFs are transformable vehicle robots and you don't make them into funny animals!?! :D I know it's a little contradicting because I do like Cybertron Scourge, but then a transformable dragon seems more acceptable that a transformable spider, cheetah or gorilla though!

I mean I have watched a couple of the cartoon episodes and it just didn't seem right. Maybe next time you guys can bring a figure or two to the meet and try and bring me over to the "dark side" :p But it's highly unlikely though. :)

Before I told her it was a girls' display:
1. That setup looks like its been organised by a girl.

Then after I told her it was a girl's setup:
2. Her boyfriend lets her play with his toys??!!

Maybe Mel would like Transmetals, they are pretty similar to G1 Beast modes like the dinobots.
