It looks mightily impressive, the individual head sculpts need work though & the combined-mode knee assemblies look a little concerning - Overall all though, I'm still plenty happy with FP's Colossus. :cool:

It looks cool, but I am not a fan of how big it is. Its way out of scale compared to any CHUG stuff so for that reason I would probably pass on it. As far as I am concerned, Predaking should be the biggest combiner.

It's believed to be a completely new outfit, but as this group is showing off figures at the prototype stage already, this has led some to surmise that this mob may possibly be a splinter or affiliate group of an already established one. ;):)

That looks beautiful. I'm hoping they've engineered it so that it's not one of those combiners where you have to pull all the bits off and reassemble them to make feet etc. If it's done similar to Hercules where all the necessary parts are included on each bot and are merely transformed into the correct place then this will be a definite buy.

Wow the calibre of these 3rd party products just keeps getting better and better. This set has a wonderful G1 feel to them (maybe it's the head sculpts?).

FP's upgrade kit was great as a combined bruticus, but this set is kickass - even as individual stand alone figures.

Fingers crossed for a fair price on these!

Agree that the cannons are a tad short (hopefully they aren't extended in the photos) but I'm absolutely loving the look of Brawl. Looks like he's come straight out of a G1 episode! I've never associated him with being a big bulky fella - that's more of a TF Movie thing I reckon.

whew. damn i like this a lot. where do i even start?

the headsculpt is amazing and the details are top notch.
articulation looks really good with little to no obstructions
3 sets of weapons! this looks like a really fun toy to play with. i think the last one i really enjoyed was MMCs tantrum. (the TT datsuns were really good too but they had less weapons to mess with)
all in all a very nice update to g1 blastoff.

Vortex Blastoff looks good, especially robot mode. Surface of the alt mode looks too busy for my liking though. Most likely give this a miss but if this is a better size match to Intimidator and Green Giant than BruteMax + Crossfire upgrades that decision may change.

As far as CHUG combiners go most people would argue that Giant is the correct scale to use.

I personally couldn't care less. I quite happily mix TFC combiners with MT/FP combiners. Although it is interesting that this scale dispute (which is also happening on other boards) doesn't seem to apply to MMC's Predaking, of which the individual bots appear to be the same size as Warbotron's.

The 3rd party stuff that is about CHUG size are all a little out but Green Giant and Intimidator are close enough for me. Some CHUG bots aren't even in scale to other CHUG bots (Why is Starscream, a jet, the same size as Jazz, a car?)This guy, although looking awesome, appears too big for me for one reason that he appears as big or bigger than Predaking (all of the 3rd party ones). To me, combiners are big but Predaking is HUGE. I want my Predaking to tower over every other combiner and if this baby was in my collection he would not. That's the main reason I won't buy him. He seems more MP scale to me (but not MP style obviously).

Exactly, there is no CHUG scale, only personal scale. I can live with toys being out of my preferred scale if the're good toys. Toys like Generations Galvatron on the other hand which are both small and uninspiring however is a different story. This guy may be a bit big compared to the FP Stunticons, and Generations Starscream, but he will look ok next to some of my Autobot cars, and TFC's Uranos, and he does seem to have a bit of clout. So I
m not going to ignore him just because of his size. That said I'm still far from sold. They should have released Brawl or Onslaught first if they really wanted my money.

I can't believe there are 216 posts in a thread about a toy that nobody needs from a third-party company that they've never bought a toy from. If this happened for, say, the last part of a gestalt then the controversy would be justifiable. Since it's not - if they feel wronged they should just not buy the stupid thing. If Warbotron's quality control is anything like the attention to spelling on their box and tech specs ("Seregeant"! "Aremd"!), then avoiding the thing is probably a good idea.
