This is the only reasonable explanation I can come up with for death-by-fan…

"These fembots are making me sssso sweaty... :o"

"Maybe I should use this fan to get rid of all of this sweat before someone else sees me like this..."

I think there is more chance of being killed by a fan falling off a shelf and hitting you on the head than the reasons given in that wikia entry.

Sounds to me like you can get away with suffocating people in their sleep in heat waves in South Korea, as the death will be blamed on the fan...

my friends daughter had a ceiling fan fall out of the roof onto her when she was about 8

it wasn't on at the time however she ended up with a few stitches though

And the doctors called my fear of falling ceiling fans 'unnatural'.

I believe they already did a fan death-esque myth, decapitation if I remember correctly, this was a good while back when Scotty was still on the build team.

They did and it was decapitation and they pretty much proved it wouldn't kill you, just hurt a lot (The Dudesons also proved this).

This would be a good one for them to test out.

Brings back memories of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Black Hole.

Such sweet and macabre childhood movie memories.

I can debunk this one myself. I sleep with a fan on in the room almost every night, and have done so for years. I'm still alive, last I checked.

(I fall asleep MUCH easier with a droning noise in the background)

You used to be married too?

Women... You can't live with them, you can't live with them. :o

Actually I understand where dirge is coming from. I had an old ceiling fan which at the time, may have been older than myself. Had a bit of noise to it, nothing major though but it was eventually replaced. The new one had no noise whatsoever. First night with it was a weird sleep as I always need some form of background noise to drown out my background thoughts.

I'm going to use this next time my wife complains about droning noises.... :D

I like sleeping with everything silent or at least distant noises that don't muddle immediate soundings.

So if a burglar sneaks into my unit at night I can hear him and kill him before he gets to me and my collection.

I can sometimes hear the pile of TFs under my tele shifting in the middle of the night... :)
