Co-incidentally, I had a crack at FOC last night and was thinking how little the official toy looked like the game model. Hopefully this guy is a lot smaller. If so I may be interested.
Maybe it's Planet-X?

I'd be very interested in other city-scale-formers that Planet-X may be releasing - would be so sweet if they plan on re-doing an updated Classics Trypticon.

A WFC Trypticon that transformed into the Nemesis would make me very happy indeed.

This looks like not much more than a concept, it certainly has a style, though a bit bland looking at the moment.
I'm without doubt picking up the Generations Metroplex, which while not entirely modelled after the game, with more of a G1redux feel to it, I think the official toy will be so much more fun than this third party option, that looks even more like a robot sitting down.

there are plenty of characters in wfc/foc that hasbro/takara could have worked on to release to make collectors happy - but didn't
i don't actually have any FOC toys (surprisingly) because i feel they're mostly poorly designed and just filler toys until TF4 comes out.

I am not wow-ed by it. In fact if this is more than an early mock up and is being released i would be concerned for the backers.
Pros:
- game accurate
Cons:
- it is late.
- gen Metroplex out already.
- gen Metroplex and 3P Omega Supreme are on such a massive scale. This needs to be as big as gen Metroplex and compete with it.
- design is too simple so far.
Assumptions:
- IF big like gen Metroplex think of the cost.
- Not enough of a market now that gen Metroplex is standing-in in a lot of collections.
Better off trying to remould or make chest addons for gen Metroplex.

I just hope the edges aren't as rounded as they look in these renders. Base mode looks like a jello mold.

Honestly, I don't know why someone would even WANT to produce a FOC Metroplex to compete with Hasbro's version. Why not do another character like Trypticon? Seems like a wasted effort, because most collectos would have already bought Metroplex. Metroplex for all!

While I do agree with you, I will not be buying GenMex. So this one MAY hold some appeal to me at least. GenMex is just to big. Same reason I don't own a FortMax.

I agree. I like the idea of having a FoC styled Metroplex but the Generations release is way too big for me and is somewhat compromised as a figure due to it's playset functionality. I might be interested in this one if it comes in at a more reasonable size (anywhere from Voyager to MT Giant :)), and dependant on price.
