It would seem that the green accents/decals may be apart of a sticker sheet, as the bottom left images of his Alt mode show him both with & without said G2 toy stickers. ;):cool:

Quite often I've found that BBTS, and occasionally TFsource, will throw up a preorder page simply upon catching wind of a possible figure/item release - Often with little more basis than: "So-n-so's computer had this code in it...". :rolleyes:;)

This recent pic certainly seems a little more solid at least. :)

True, there was the prototype photos shown & hence that is what sparked their preorder page :) - but doesn't that seem a little early to post such a thing though? :confused:, I feel it is as it's not like a Has/Tak rep has contacted them & said "This is what we're doing..." you know what I mean? :o

At any rate, you can bet I'll be picking this bad boy up as sure as Sexy Susie will make an appearance at the next Parra Fair. ;):D

Nothing firm at the moment I don't believe, but most places seem to think an early 2014 release is most likely - Possibly to coincide with Takara's celebration of Transformers' 30th. ;):)

Reminds me of Generations Springer. They used the FoC concept art as a placeholder. To this day, I still would've preferrred Springer as a jet/buggy.

The G2 emblem will need some serious trimming if it's to look any good on black, as those pics clearly show.

I'd have liked it to be tampo'd for my own tastes, but realise they're trying to please everyone with options.

The rest of the G2 stickers will be staying on the sheet for me!

The G2 figure is where I draw my nostalgia for this repaint/retool, hence those fluorescent green stickers are a quintessential requirement; That head sculpt, those shoulders & those weapons just seal this figure as being THE baddest of asses mind you! :D:cool:

The coin itself is identical from the front, but the back might be altered. The case is also identical, with just some colour changed on the front, and a Gen2 Autobot logo on the back.

The Rear-spoiler stickers were really fiddly to position correctly, I still ended up with a couple of microns of over-hang at the center seam frustratingly; The "SS" stickers are split too, which made them doubly difficult to place, as one has to now factor in both lateral & longitudinal positions of all 4x "S"s. :o

I'm pretty happy with the end result of the stickering, have a feeling I'll have to keep tabs on them pealing though; the Red & Blue clear-backed stickers that supply details to the upper-forearms, feet & midriff have an adhesive that doesn't seem to want to hold still and instead tends to slide around on the surface a bit. :rolleyes:

I'd also forgotten that Sideswipe's hands aren't able to fully enclose around the handle of his weapons, so they tend to want to un-peg from his palms; the Machete on the other hand is totally void of any such tabs but is held really firmly in either hand's grasp. :)

All in all I'm extremely pleased with this retool/repaint as I have a super articulate, larger interpretation of the original that's also really fun to transform - The new headsculpt is just pure win too, not to mention the shoulder pauldrons and wicked-cool new guns! :D:cool:



...oh yeah, Goki, be entirely prepared to be disappointed if you thought this iteration of the mold was going to answer your qualms with the shoulders. ;)

Mine just arrived this morning from RK, man it's as if it's just come straight out of the comic.

I don't have any of the car masterpeices so I was a little surprised by how small he was when I opened the box, but I love small transformers, and he looks great with Grimlock :D

Just got him out of his box, looks great. I might go with the G2 Autobot logo sticker on his chest. He really needs some type of sheaf for his sword. Maybe a 3rd Party upgrade Bullet Belt with Sheaf?

Got mine today. My first time getting a sideswipe mould and hes awesome. Its a travesty that the datsuns dont come with should cannons as standard. I love the accessories with this.
