Unique Toys is producing a competing G1 Sharkticon/Gnaw-homage figure in "Sharky".

This little bloke, who measures in to be (approx) 11.5cm (4.5") tall in Bot mode, comes in a 3-Pack just like the iGear version (http://www.battlegrip.com/?p=52543) and each also comes with a differing head sculpt.

Hehe :D, already dropped my iGear preorder for this set myself - They look way more in-line with my aesthetic tastes and look to be at a better scale with my Classicsverse collection.
(Not to mention these guys are far more likely to see an actual release compared to iGear's :p)

animeflavor.com? can't get enough... latest episode is like just #8... sigh..

ok so on to the topic... Wonder what the plastic quality would be like?... what other products has Unique toys made so far? If ever I might go thru but with Chimungmung since they're cheaper.

These and Galvatron are really tipping me towards assembling a set of Decepticons from the animated movie.

It's going to be expensive.:(

nah i just get them off kickasstorrents.

as for the plastic quality, someone who has bought some of the Warlord (Predaking) limbs could weigh in. but then again, no idea if they'll improve on the plastic quality or keep it the same - it'll have to be a surprise.

The plastic on warlord is light hard and a little brittle. But still good. And expect any sharp parts to be deadly sharp. Im happy with what they make. But I hope that after warlord the quality continues to improve. I will be getting this set and Galvatron.

They're looking amazing IMO; however like I've seen many express, I hope that these are purely for "Prototype" purposes & that they still intend on having the G1 colour scheme as depicted in the earlier renders. ;)
(It'll be really annoying if they put these out & later, offer a 2nd run of G1 accurate coloured figures )

They look pretty final to me.

I think I still like the Igear version better in alt mode, but this one looks better in bot mode.

Fish mode looks fine, not so keen on the bot mode, looks to have stunted legs. Also colors could be a bit more G1. tis kinda dark of hue.

Bio reads

What Sharkies are most proud of is their sharp teeth which allow them to crush whatever gets in their way. They like
group activities and would never let any one of them face
Their enemies alone. They look brutal and horrible but there still are
gentle ones who would like to make friends with others. Sharkies
had been oppressed for a very long time and had finally regained their planet
by winkling out the intruders. They are ready to tear anyone trying to enslave
them again into pieces.

Obviously a reference to the Quintessons but what do they mean by winkling?
Poor translation perhaps?!?

Is it just me, but the purple on those Sharkies have different hues each... was it just the play of lights and angle in the shot or is it really different tones of purple for each figure?

I think they have different tones to differentiated them. I think that's rather cool.

I'm assuming he gets these for free because he's a well known toy reviewer?

I've wondered how people become well known for something such as talking about toys, since evidently as far as I can tell, there are no formal studies you can undertake to become "skilled" at this (apart from perhaps something like writing and/or public speaking).

Is it a case of building up the number of followers on social media, and then once you have a sizeable following, to just wait for the free toys to be sent your way (because potentially, you would be doing free marketing for the company)?

its called charisma. basically you just have to have a decent sounding voice, be a bit funny and generally not be annoying or make mistakes like other amateur reviewers do. Vangelus is also pretty good at it.

and yes you need numbers of viewers to be high enough to get the free stuff. from what i can tell, peaugh is sponsored by tfsource - though he does mention a few times he buys most of his stuff (probably the super sentai and other japanese stuff) with his own money.

Actually Peaugh said in the video he was given a test set to review and he hadn't received his order yet.

The Unique Toys War Lord and MMC Feral Rex figures were also all test shots that were given to him.

I find him the most measured out of all the other online reviewers. He doesn't have an ego and, by contrast, shows less favouratism. He does tend to manhandle most figures in ways I wouldn't dare; which works - because if it passes the 'Peaugh stress-test', then I'd have no qualms about a figure's durability :)

I feel much the same; along with Vange1us, TJOmega, TJ Duckett our own Kal_El, Tetsuwan Convoy & Ironprime Reviews - I like knowledgeable, honesty, transparency, creativity and integrity in my Toy video reviewers, I do not care for "yes men" or "egotists" in anything.

I decide to get these guys and I really like them!! they fun figure to play with and act out ....:D
The transformation very basic and simple but that adds to the fun factor , They are very light but solid plastic used and the blue parts are soft and felxiable ... the detail are really good and love how they have different faces as well as the one guy had a different shade purple ...
On to the negative stuff .... the Qc that one of the figure I got , got a scratch on the middle of the chrome eye :( , the waist ball joint is alittle loose on all of them but the rest of the joints are tight , like the ankle one so it can pose the figure up ... This one a big one to me is that the hands of the shark alt mode just swing back hanging out in robot mode (the mid figure of the pic you can see it ) they could of made it swing down and fold away in the back instead of folding out like that .... Also the top horns keep dropping out during transformation , it actually cover the screw hole there on the top of the head , but keep dropping off which is so annoying and could easily be lost (left figure)...
The gun doesn't fit any where on the alt mode in which they could of made it fit on the side as it does have hole there already! Just where the shark hands are or the leg as well!!!! but not big enough for the handle to fit in .... should be easy to make to adjustment in the finally design stage .... And one last thing is that you can see the face of the robot when the shark open it mouth , behind there(right figure) turn head around which got gun detail :) ....
It come with a bio-card that made of plastic and high quality which I love ! I just hate those cheap nasty printing paper card that some of the 3p figure come with , (if you include it make it a least a proper card!) ...
these are a great figure and the price is spot on .... totally recommend..

The box art looks real nice. It's such a large, space consuming box and I want to throw it into the recycling bin but it's so pretty.

Only problem I've encountered is the feelers/antennae on the sharkmode head. They keep falling out. I may need to superglue them in place.

I've been meaning to pick up these figures for a while. Besides a WST Grimlock the only other 3rd party figures I have are the Quintesson Judge and Prosecutor so thought these guys could go perfect with them and maybe G1 Gnaw as their leader. :)

Do people think it's worth the price though? I've read a few reviews from people who have problems like loose parts and scratched shark eyes. The only ones they have from BBTS list the box at only C6-8 condition but I could combine them with my POL. Has anyone ordered them through other sources and if so what was the price with postage? I see Chimungmung are $72.90 at the moment.

I bought mine through TFsource dude, I can't exactly remember but I think they cost me just under $100AU after postage? :o - My thoughts on them were outlined here (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showpost.php?p=391918&postcount=642) but I'd say they're worth that amount, little loose bits aside. ;)

As I mentioned, just glue the loose bits. As it's setting make sure it's got good air flow around it, an open window, desk fan, whatever. Superglue fumes have a tenancy to frost nearby surfaces (hence that fingerprint trick you see on TV).
