Shipping varies, depending on your location. Cheapest seems to be $9 for Sydney area... up to $10-12 for Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne.

Be aware that shipping may be cheaper for two individual figures in some areas, as the shipping calculator was giving me a $56 for two, but only $11 for one.

Also be aware that the site was having some connection issues today, as people were first aware of the listing. (perhaps it couldn't handle the volume?)

FINALLY - there looks like there could be a quota for each state, as some people are reporting that their state (or location) is now telling them it is not available when they try to purchase the item... despite the figure not yet being "out of stock" on the description page.
Maybe keep going back to the site each day to see if this is just an error, or call up the TRU head-office to see what it means (and if there is a way you can still order one).

I was just posting in the other Soundwave topic, the reason why some are getting theirs posted out, and others are not getting theirs yet... or not able to order at all.

A couple of us have been told identical stories from TRU people running different stores - the online orders are not coming from their central warehouse (which would be easier to keep track of stock, and only sell units if they know they still have some)... the orders get paid and then emailed to your nearest store.
If that nearest store doesn't yet have stock (like in WA), the online site doesn't seem to allow the sale to begin with (because there isn't any point if they don't yet have any to send out).
But if your nearest store did get stock but are already sold out, the order is then emailed to the next nearest store... and so on, until it gets to one that still has it in stock. (or I am assuming it is cancelled/refunded if it gets to a point of being out of stock in all stores in your area/state or country)

As such, it is a very complicated system, that will be plagued with errors, lost orders and unfulfilled orders... leading to a lot of unhappy customers (who think they have bought a figure, only to find out later that it is no longer in stock).
All so they can offer cheap shipping, as it would be coming from nearby instead of all from their Sydney warehouse.


All I can suggest is, keep trying their site for ordering one, as unsold units may surface from stores that are less popular... as well trying to reserve one (ring up) at a store that hasn't yet got theirs, or at least, haven't sold out.
And if you end up with two, I'm sure there are some people here that would be willing to buy it from you.
(at least, that's what I was planning - the online order was my backup, and now that I have the one from the store that I reserved, if the online order ends up coming through, I will pass it onto someone nearby who still wants one)

I am about to ring my local TRU, which is 100klms away and see if they have their stock yet. I am thinking that they haven't which is why I haven't received the dispatch e-mail.
Going off what Griff has posted is that once a store receives their stock they can dispatch but if they don't have stock your order goes into a holding pattern and you are reserved your quantity.

I ordered mine online on Monday but still haven't received dispatch notice. I called the customer service this morning and the girl on the line initially said there's a high likelihood that I will get refunded and my order cancelled, but then she put me on hold to check something and later said that my order might get fulfilled but it's going to take a longer time (1+ week) while they look for stock. I didn't like my chance so I dropped by the nearest TRU this AM and luckily managed to get the last one in stock. I called TRU again to cancel my online order and they were happy to do that.

A lot of calling and running around for this little bugger but in the end it's worth it :). Good luck to other people who are still looking, hopefully everyone will get one.

Would like them but if they halved the price and just made it Soundwave/Laserbeak, I'd be content. I'm thinking the same thing. I just can't believe they didn't put any padding what so ever. It is just such a rookie mistake when putting anything in the post. At least wrap it in bubble wrap or something. They might as well have just taped my details to the actual box and sent it that way.

The plastic tray is also ripped on the inside. I couldn't see any damage to the figure.

I had less damage to my Platinum Predaking box, and that travelled thousands of kms with no protection - your Soundwave only travelled a few dozen.

If you get a refund because they don't have any to exchange for you, I can sell you my extra one (if it arrives undamaged).

Otherwise, if they don't have any to exchange and you prefer to keep your figure, perhaps see who is not keeping their box (I think there was a few), and see if they can pass on theirs if they are nearby.

Got mine today, and sadly the plastic bag that it was shipped in was far from strong enough to protect the box. It is squashed, crushed, dented. Yet to open the box, and in all honesty I am a bit afraid to.

I am sure TRU will says that any damage incurred in transit is mine and Australia Posts fault, but the lack of any protection disgusts me, and shows TRU's lack of care for their customers.

Certainly won't be using the service again.

Yes TRU postage seems pretty poor indeed. No padding, just either a box or a plastic satchel.... its luck of the draw whether you get damage or not. pity for further MP releases... wonder if we should make more noise to them collectively... they really need to pick up their game if they are gonna make the online store work.

When buying online I favour stores that only have an online presence because for the most part, they take more care in shipping their items. After all, their business is driven wholly by online sales. TRU is a walk-in store first and an online shop second, and that's exactly how they'll treat you - secondary.

Yes. Further, if they don't ship it with adequate protection (and I could be very wrong here) but isn't it TRU's fault under consumer law?
My guess is that only if the actual product (i.e. the toy(s)) is faulty. Like if I ordered a pair of shoes and the shoe box was dented in transit, but the shoes were fine, I doubt I could claim recompense. I know that walk-in stores don't offer discounts or anything for damaged packaging (even when it's torn), so long as the toy itself is in good condition.

While ordering I though it would take longer to get to me. I didn't realise they sent by courier when I ordered.

I thought they would just put it in the post in a box. So with that and what I would assume would be a bulk business discount with the postal services, I thought $10-15 sounded about right.

I could post interstate but that could be tricky with the additional postage if there are QC problems...
