View Full Version : What is the most silly Transformers toy you've come across?

There have been a plethora of Transformers toys released over the years. No doubt there have been great ones and ones that didn't hit the spot. But I'm interested in your opinion on TF toys that are down right silly. The word 'silly' can mean different things to people, but the general impression would be along the line if 'What were Hasbro/TT thinking?' or 'huh?'.

I guess I'll start. Last Xmas my department had our Kris Kringle. One of the young ladies opened her present. Low & behold it was a Cyberverse Energon Driller. Her reaction was OH.....(followed by giggles). And more giggles when she found out what happens when she pressed the botton! What was Hasbro thinking when they decided to release this 'toy'.

Gari-Gari Kun is the silliest Transformer I've ever seen. Transforms from popsicle to Gari-Gari. I actually ordered one from RK this morning cause he's cheap and would make a funny addition to my Prime collection.

Well don't try to lick it, who knows what paints they used on that figure... :p:p:D

Heinlad (although he's awesome, tanuki's are strange to us Westerners).

Any of the Mr Potatohead TFs

Slumblebee and Softimus Prime.

Capbots.

(I love all of these things, actually, but can admit they're a bit silly).

I'll give the same answer I gave for the Most Absurd Alt Mode thread: (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?t=2303)

And that is a tie between Injector and Ejector, with RID Megatron's giant hand mode getting a special mention ;)

The RPM/Speed Stars 'Mini-Vehicles'. They're not even silly in a funny way.

Aside from Action Masters? Action Master Elites. Transformers who bend over and pretend that they're transforming. And Windmill was the only one who had a respectable colour scheme. :p

Actually, I forgot Dago R from the Arms Micron line! A teeny robotic-cycloptic octopus that turns into an arm mounted pile driver. Now that's silly :D:p

MacDonalds Happy Meal Prime (http://www.otca.com.au/boards/showthread.php?p=220448&highlight=meal#post220448) gets my vote :D

Basically anything that is called a 'Transformer' but doesn't actually transform is silly. Also Ejector, that movie toaster and every Beast Wars toy.

It would be epic if that was stop motion animated with the Never Ending Story theme playing..

This I totally agree with and I'll add the Sports Label toys.

'Silliest' one I've personally come across: Pepsi Convoy. Optimus Prime in Pepsi colours, with a trailer specifically meant to carry a bottle of Pepsi...

'Silliest' one I know of: Probably Captimus Prime, followed closely by the Sports Label series.

Disney Label is a pretty weird concept too (although there are clever aspects to the engineering, and Buzz Lightyear works pretty well). So much so that the staff at Bic Camera initially didn't recognise it as "proper" Transformers products when I bought one and asked for the free Arms Micron figure! Ah let's face it, almost all the "~Label" toys are weird, with the notable exception of Music Label Soundwave. :) Frenzy and Rumble are funny though as permanently conjoined twins. ;)

Beast Machines Silverbolt deserves a dishonourable mention.

Device label Blaster isn't weird as well Gok:D;)
Device Label FrenzyRumble reminds me of those cenobite twins from the hellraiser series... creepy :p

Beast machines Silverbolt reminds me of Samurai Jack... you know... mutated into an animal like thing hehehe. I just wish they made that figure in Deluxe Size instead, he looks puny next to Beast machines Blackarachnia.

Silly???

Well, it sure fooled Dispensor...

http://www.toycollectors.com.au/xx46.jpg

Trying to rescue what he thought was an imprisoned Transformer "sealed in packaging". :p

Incidentally, if Dispensor had been made into a proper convertible toy, a drink dispensing machine would be pretty silly... but then again, it was an accidental creation by the Cube.

In the photo at least, that actually looks like an ice block. Have you licked it? :p

I've enjoyed reading the posts on this thread! Looking at the photos, yep they are definitely silly / odd TF toys. Goes to show how little I know what's out there. I'm gonna do a bit of googling to find out more about some of these toys. Thanks guys and girls.

Got my GariGari Kun about 30 minutes ago. I really like him even if he is silly.
