Had quite an eventful morning today. On the way to the collector zone fair i went past a few flea markets. My wife spotted a lady selling her sons entire TF collection. Managed to buy the whole lot off her for $100. I dont know much about these but i think it was a good deal as there were nearly 50 TFs here so worked out to be about $2 each.

Takara Encore Optimus Prime arrived today, and I've got a mate who's giving me the metal matrix from the Cyclonus/Hot Rod 2 pack for my Prime display (Encore + Hasbro 25th) so it's truck mode, battle station, robot, both guns and rollers, etc, now with a matrix (because I could not justify New Year Prime!).

Also, Mega SCF Optimus Prime (television version) arrived today and completes the Mega SCF line for me.

Add to that (and I know its 3rd party), but I bought a certain silver gun-like character today at the collector's fair in Perth and after a bit of cleaning up, he's looking pretty sweet on my shelf.

I really need to sort out my cabinet situation next year...

While they weren't explicitly marketed as Transformers in Australia, they were marketed as Transformers in other markets (e.g. Hong Kong). So there's an argument that they can count as Transformers (as much as Battle Beasts can count as Beastformers I suppose). :D I've never seen the Soft Serve Cone one before! That must be another one that never got released here. We only got a few here, there are lots more from overseas markets (e.g. Big Breakfast, McMuffin etc.). Sucked in on getting those Cyber Stompers. :p :p :p

Haha yeah, sadly no arms and chest plate, but it works within reason. The Mcdonalds toys already released some dinosaur versions. So thus why the cone isn't as familiar.

Thanks, super stoked to get this guy. I've got loose version of all of the Turbomasters/Predators/Obliterators/Trakkons/Whatever Ironfist and Deftwing are. I'm tracking down boxes for them, from memory I'm only missing Deftwing's box now. Although I'll start looking at upgrading some of the poorer condition ones soon. I splurged and got a sealed Clench because he's probably my favourite and sealed window boxes display nicely. I've already got a sealed Pyro but might let it go... box condition isn't fantastic.

Unfortunately this Clench is double-taped on one side, which is a bit disappointing. The tape looks old, but I don't know if these guys ever originally shipped double-taped or not.

Grabbed a second Optimus so I could keep my other ones parts on Omega Supreme. Also picked up on special Arachnid and Smokescreen and found a sweet Commander Shockwave. And found a animated Cliffjumper and possible KO Bee, seeming as he's not the same as cliff. Has no springs or autobot symbol etc. And picked up for $5 the Jessie and Bullseye, was so wrapped to find them, but sadly Jesse has no hat!

I bought red after market missile launchers thinking he was the same as the other two MP datson but his attachment totally different , so I had to mod it a little by drilling a hole so now it cover his original ugly launchers .... making it look heaps nicer now :)

Brilliant prints! I didn't realise you could order them, I should check his deviantart account more often I think.

They're A3 in size, 29.7 x 42 cm. He originally posted about them on twitter, and I saw it on a news post on Seibertron. I think the last lot of prints were posted on Dec 9 but it can't hurt to ask. They look great, definitely worthwhile if you enjoy his art style. :)

They're A3 in size, 29.7 x 42 cm. He originally posted about them on twitter, and I saw it on a news post on Seibertron. I think the last lot of prints were posted on Dec 9 but it can't hurt to ask. They look great, definitely worthwhile if you enjoy his art style. :)

I just enquired about a set as until trunk's post I didn't know they existed. Will let you know what he says.

Yep, and the frames are relatively cheap if you stick to the standard sizes. I recommend checking out frameshop.com.au. By far the cheapest place I've found for standard or custom picture frames.

Prowl really does have a very elegant transformation, great articulation and even though everyone has been talking up how good it is, I really didn't think it would be as good as it is. The dynamics of the legs is excellent.
The torso is also really well designed, though mine doesn't really seem to clip into place solidly.

The transformation reflects the original design, why it needs to do by necessity of having a finished product that looks similar but the process of the transformation is really well thought out.

I have a small blemish on the back window but I don't think I'm that worried about it.

Generations Springer, Blitzwing(Horridly made figure), GDO Hotspot, Orion Pax, Bumblebee, Trailcutter and Megatron.
Prime RID Magus, Thundertron and Starscream. Which are 3 pretty awesome figures imo. Air Vehicon, Smokescreen and Ripclaw.
DVD Transformable Optimus and Bumblebee, with the optimus mask DVD too.
Covenant of Primus!

Had quite an eventful morning today. On the way to the collector zone fair i went past a few flea markets. My wife spotted a lady selling her sons entire TF collection. Managed to buy the whole lot off her for $100. I dont know much about these but i think it was a good deal as there were nearly 50 TFs here so worked out to be about $2 each.

well, i have *almost* all of those. I'm a nut, I keep buying multiples even when I have the thing. I think i have at least 2 sets of every single G1 TF, one in a USA box (or packaging) and 1 in Japanese box (or packaging)... and then more eg: 3 sets of Dinobots, 5 Ramjets... I dunno. I think that's what they call addiction.

The Darkwings is my 4th set of these guys.... :confused:

Before this, I didnt have that 2 BTs and vintage Star Convoy - those were the only "uniquely" new stuff.

The rest are for others...

I adore the presentation of those ehobby seeker jet reissues. They present better than the original G1 boxes.
Not all Collector's Edition Transformers were eHobby exclusives, certainly the jets weren't. Most were Japanese convention exclusives, except for Dirge who was exclusive to the 20th Century Toy Museum. :)

To tell you the truth, I'd been enjoying RID more than MTMTE through the first few TPBs, but things certainly got cracking story-wise in #4 and #5 for MTMTE.

Horses for courses, as they say, but I think all fussing around with relationships was a little off-putting for a story that promised to be full of adventure. I enjoyed the more serious tone of RID but have and always will detest Starscream as a character, so I'm looking forward to some proper badness from others in Dark Cybertron, though shattered to hear that Starscream survives and will be featuring in the stories post-DC.

Not wanting to turn it into a detailed discussion in the acquisitions thread, so will quickly say a few short words. I agree that in starting out, RiD was very promising (ie: the first TPB), but after that, I think it just went downhill with bad dialogue and it devolved into yet another big smack down type story. They were on Cybertron for gwards sake, there is so much story potential, and Barber has SO many A-List characters, but it got boring after the first TPB.

MTMTE just gets better and better, Roberts weaves an intricate story web, explains lots of TF lore, explains stuff that Furman touched on, and gives characters character.

I never really wanted to get these guys, as I really only collect G1 gesalts FortMax, Metroplex and Mp's, but when I saw the TG-28 with their shiny metallic paint, I couldn't resist as they would be perfect for setting up a battle scene between Scamper and Starscream and Megatron on top of Metroplex, or Fort Max...I need to find a small Prime now...

Also, TG-25... same goes, I had seen them on the net and never really thought to get them seriously as I already have Hasbro Orion. But he looked so good with metallic paint, so I'm going to have both and it is good to have a Megatronus figure as sort of an origin for my mp Megs as well!
